Just noticed there might be retainer pricing...

I was browsing the transitioning to ARR and on the legacy page I saw:
"Note:Pricing for other features, including longer billing cycles and Retainer Characters, have not yet been decided."

So it seems we may have to pay for retainers... at least we should have a guaranteed spot for auction...

Or it could be for more retainers than usual since we only have 2 retainers as of now...

they are reducing our INV by 100 i believe. I think we'll have 1 retainer and others will have to be bought.

I think the original idea was to charge $1.00 s month per retainer when 1.0 launched.

If they do indeed charge for extra retainers in ARR I won't mind, as long as they are acccount bound, not character.

But really inventory and retainer space is just so huge so you may not really need any more unless you keep alot of food...

Originally when the game came out it was $3.00 for 1 extra retainer, but it was a one time fee. Adding extra characters were $1.00 extra a month.

I paid for one extra one, then they gave everybody 2 retainers for free then disallowed the purchase of any more retainers. :P I kinda like the system, it prevented ppl from flooding the market! Of course in XI they just flat out only allowed you to sell 10 items only! I found that quite annoying, it made it very hard to move product for profit. without being online 24/7.

Herd the retainer space will be increased from 150 to 200, I'm just hoping that they let us keep the original two we had in 1.0, than anything extra like a third or forth is a fee.

I think they're doing it this way since new sub options allow for multiple characters...they'll probably give us 2 retainers like normal, but if you use a lot of characters, you can buy more. I also think they will be shared across the account, making it easier to manage your stuff.

The first retainer was always promised to be free, and then they gave us two.

That does make sense if retainers are shared between characters (I've only really used one character so I don't know)

I remember this, it was a shame they pulled it. We certainly could have used more retainers in the wards! O_o.

Retainers in ARR will be tied to each character. Unless they are Lalafell, then they are automatically community owned, likely working for the the most ruthless players around. Seems appropriate, right?

I cannot confirm or deny. I heard from a friend in alpha they didn't have Lalafell facial features, just a silhouette. Because of this, logic dictates they'll be a secondary race, very similar to chocobos. Given their huge physical size, they'd make perfect pack mules. Oh and all lalafells are clearly RMT anyways. It makes perfect sense for them to be our retainers...
