You are NOT keeping us in the loop. When can we Expect to see ARR?

Told us we would have some kind of information as to when ARR would be released. There were even official posts claiming it would come back up in December. Clearly that is not happening.
So please keep us in the loop and let us know what is going on. As it is you guys are totally keeping us in the dark..

The Beta Test Roadmap and Beyond

On October 14, 2011, we released a new roadmap for the future of FINAL FANTASY XIV. In spite of several delays, we have at last—with your enduring support—met most of our major milestones. The conclusion of the Seventh Umbral Era storyline has set the stage for A Realm Reborn, and now only the beta test and official release remain. While it's extremely unfortunate that we've had to postpone our schedule, please understand that these decisions were made in order to deliver a quality, enjoyable FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn to everyone—to the fans who have supported us through the years, and to those eagerly awaiting the PlayStation 3 version.

Today we are releasing a new roadmap for the upcoming beta test. This beta test will be divided into four phases, and will initially be restricted to the Windows PC version. The PlayStation 3 beta test will begin in a later phase.

However, given the nature of beta testing (during which we work closely with our customers to improve our products), there may be a need to adjust both the commencement date and the duration of the beta test.

That's because they don't want to give a solid date before beta test commences. Anyone with some basic math and reading skills could estimate a summer release.

GTFO with the attitude. They keep us plenty in the loop, but if you actually paid attention to the information, you'd know they are not committing to a solid date because they want to take as much time as they need fixing it up.

If they were to give a release date, then people like you would crucify them if they did not deliver on said date. There is simply no winning with some people, I guess.

You didnt see the Producer Live letter? Yoichi Wada says that only if YoshiP thinks/feel/check that the game is ready to launch, then only the game is ready to launch. So if there is anything wrong during beta, and need to delay... they will delay it and announce it to be delayed.

It's amazing how in one post you criticize them for not releasing it in December like they said (I don't remember them saying this, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt), and you also wonder why they aren't giving solid dates anymore.

Lol OP - are you really surprised? SE has been this way since the dawn of time haha. (Not that I blame them)

You have to just suck it up and wait! The game will be here before you know it though :)

@ OP - Chill OUT! Game development and life rarely go as planned. Would you rather have a release date and another launch fail or a rough approximation and a good game at launch? They will give dates when they know them.

Relax now, we are very patient and waiting for more information from SE like we let them take some more time to consider about it. :)

You know if they gave xx/xx/xxxx dates that would put even more pressure on them than they already have.

Plus what would piss people off more. "hey we said xx/xx/xxxx but we have to push it back a few days" or not knowing the exact date till they are sure that date can be met?

Did you ever think maybe they themselves are unsure what exact day they can open servers? Mid-February. Is that not better then "Early 2013?" Is that not better then "TBA."

Soo..SE tells us everything they can...When beta starts, how many phases and how long the phases last, what is being done each phase, and who can be in each phase...but they're not telling us anything simply because you have issues on your end that stop you from reading it?

Kinda like blaming the evening news for hiding things from you because your TV doesn't work.

In fact what they gave us was an estimate of the longest it could take. They might take even longer than that, but they're basically telling us "around this time....maybe sooner" :o.

It's better if they don't tell us because then if they need to put the game back few months people would bitch. By just saying it going to be release in 2013 give them more then enough time to rebuild the game to a level that is great for release.

I just find it funny how there'll always be someone complaining about something, despite the mountains of evidence/opinion contrary to theirs.

this thread has the same amount of fail as the 1.0 launch did.

Pretty hard for the game to be out in November when they said Phase 1 Beta won't start till Mid-February!
Then each phase is 2-3 weeks. At the most we are looking at June.

You need to open up the Road Map through a particular browser.. I do not recall if it's FireFox, Explorer or Chrome. Try one of those out to see if it helps you.

you don't want to wait around for release find something else to play. like most of us have done to fill our free time.

Why this troll keeps getting food is beyond me, but in case OP is serious..

What SE does:
-notify of important decisions taken
-notify of important events to come
-notify of progress
-notify of things impacting the players
*over all SE gives us info related to the important stuff, seems minor as not much is fodder

What OP wants:
-dev A, had fish for lunch
-dev B, spent 30min in the W/C
-window cleaner at SE coming on Tuesday
-dev C and dev P are getting married

SE is a software development company, compared to many others they are quite noisy... the company i work for do the same just different field, and our clients get maybe one notification a month about progress... many times that note is no longer then "everything is on track"

10/10 for the OPs rant lol...never seen such a case of spoilt child syndrome in all my life.... Lets hope someone from SE neglects to give him a personal call to say the game is relaunched. I wonder if his attitude is as bad in game.

They can't really say yet. If they give a release date now, then they may shoot themselves in the foot if players find the beta unacceptable (or features therein). They need time to accurately pinpoint what is mandatory to change/fix before launch. I would expect a release date announcement around Phase 3 Beta.
