Legacy Solution

Let people who are complaining about wanting to get Legacy have it and just bump the ones that have Legacy already to Super Legacy. Keep pricing as is. Problem solved forever!

The requirements for Legacy Status were published well in advance. People were given ample time to comply with those requirements. Cut off date for compliance was also posted well in advance. I know this may sound cold but with all that I have no sympathy for those who decided not to qualify at the time. It was their choice. They must live with it.

Are people STILL making a fuss over Legacy? Just let it go...if you got in, good job, If not, suck it up. End of story.

But the entitlement!!!!!!!!

As a Super, Super, Super Legacy member I look down on anyone with less then 3 Supers in their titles.

Silly thread. If someone is truly a fan of something, they won't miss any new information regarding the product. All I see are a bunch of bandwagon people seeing FFXIV in its new light and wanting what people, who stuck, and payed to play the game, no matter its condition, get a status showing such loyalty to the IP.

People who missed by a month I sympathize with. But the rest....whatever. The same people complaining about the title are the same ones back in Jan. 2012 that said I'm not paying for this crap game(their mind set of the games value)

I paid every month just to give SE some money in their bank for the games backing, and a lot of others did the same., paid 4-10 months straight.

You had 6 months to start the Legacy program from January to June I believe. I'm sorry you didn't get in but it was your fault that you didn't, Legacy program offers a good deal after you pay you 3 months:

- 10 Bucks a month forever in ARR ( You save 60 bucks a year the other people have to pay if your doing the standrad)
- Name in Credits
- Exclusive Chocobo
- Automatic Phase 1 Beta Access


Again I am sorry you didn't get in but you had loads of time to achieve this goal. I hope this doesn't impact the Game itself because other people have to pay 60 more bucks a year =(.

We should have Legacy, Legacy Z, Legacy GT, and Legacy Kai

I have Super Duper Extreme Legacy, S-E pays me to play ARR.

The people that got into beta and didn't have Legacy were lucky.. but All of us Legacy Players that get to play Beta are way more than lucky, that's where the real stuff is at, and we get to play it from start of Alpha to finish! All Good things come for those who wait patiently. =)

Same here! I feel I helped support SE a little. the Legacy members are kinda like the Kickstarter's of small projects from Kickstarter.com! You fund a good idea for it's idea ONLY! and in turn are rewarded with benefits for getting the project off the ground!

If they change the rule it will be like what happened to me and Star Trek Online. I pay for $200 Lifetime membership to play without a subscription and before the lifetime membership even begins to pay for itself in 2 1/2 years? The game goes Free to play? Do I get my money back? hell no. So I'm kinda leery about lifetime memberships in MMO's with the whole Free 2 Play craze most are going to :P

TBH, I would rather pay a standard subscription for a "GOOD" game like Final Fantasy XIV:A Realm Reborn than deal with all the micro transaction crap a lot of MMO's are going to. ESPECIALLY when they start selling gamplay items that make a difference in gameplay, weapons, Armor that isn't just cosmetic, and experience! Like Planetside 2, you pay you get a whole bunch of certificates that you need to unlock different things in the game. The one saving grace about PS2 is you can earn everything without paying! Which I love, but it's mind-numbingly stupid grind to get that amount of XP and certificates in game!

I sympathize for people who missed two months >.>I know a lot of people who started in august...

True... Now that yoshida has decided on increasing talk about ff14 this shouldn't happen again... Although there were a lot of emails of legacy, posts on the forum and and lodestone, if you only played the beta of ff14 and never bought the full game you never received the news unless you were craving a new mmo and you recalled ff14 existed and decided to look at the lodestone...

Although I guess I should repeat that it won't happen again because yoshida has said he was determined to spread the name of ff14 and he is keeping his word...

Well this type of Advertisement, isn't meant to be known worldwide. It's really made for the people who were currently playing at the time they put up the promotion. If the Whole world known, alot more Legacy members would have payed their 3 months to get legacy and forget all about FFXIV until ARR. And they would lose out 60 buck per person a year. This Program is really ment for the people who stood by this game through thick and thin and help support SE through it's darkest of times in FFXIV.

If other people made it in that's great, I'm glad they got in so they can get the same benefits as we do, but for the people that are complaining that they don't have Legacy, well I am truly sorry but this program isn't for everyone. If you didn't know about it, you probably forgot about the game and when you stumbled a crossed it, it was too late at that point. If you knew about it and you didn't get Legacy, You were informed for 6 months to get er dun.

I feel silly commenting when so many others have done it so well, but I get tired of the entitlement attitude to life. When can we get back to "if you don't earn something, you don't get it" rather tan to take from those that actually PAID for this title?

Tell me what you did to deserve this? Did you actually truly support this company even when they made a serious blunder? Are you truly the fan that I am, that am willing to stick with them even through the rough spots.. my time makes me a very casual player. That is the life of a grown up that has to pay for her life.

But I knew that they needed what support I could give, and so I paid during months most of you negative annies refused to. I earned this. You didn't. Grow up and deal with life.

There is a simple answer for the question of this Thread. Leave it like it is and stop discussing/whining it won't change anything.

Really I'm just a little bit sick of this argument... really every one on this forum knows whats done is done... There is no point in talking about entitlement or the like since it only corrupts the gift yoshida, the devs and SE wanted to give to the players that stuck with them...

"Legacy" is a thank-you for paying for v1.x.

Months before ever announcing the Legacy program, SE required payment to continue playing. A lot of us began paying before we had any idea there would be any such reward. Once SE announced Legacy, they invited others to start paying to qualify, and spelled out the requirements and even the last day it was possible to qualify. SE was very open in this regard.

There's no 1.x left to pay for, and SE has the money it needed. It was a limited time offer.

Let it go.

Sorry, but those who didn't qualify on the excuse of not having enough time to pay the 3 months payment, are just whining.

I signed up a 2nd account just because of the legacy program. My 2nd account wouldn't have qualified if I did the month-by-month payment for 3 months. SE also offered a pay 3 months at once option, as soon as I paid via that option, my 2nd account was qualified the next day. Therefore, even if you can only start your first payment during the last week of the offer, you would have qualified by paying the 3-mo instead of the month by month option.
