roegadyn question

I have a question for roegadyn players. Maybe some RPers can explain.

What do people see in roegadyn? How do they act?

Why would one choose roegadyn?

Maybe because Galka have silly names in FFXI?

Roegadyns are powerful brutes, man-beasts. They are generally associated with Strenght, Vitality, Armorer, Blacksmith and Miner (because they look like the Galkas in FFXI). They are the tallest and bigger race of them all. In any fighting group, you need someone with brute strenght. It's your Roegadyn.

Roegadyn are pretty interesting Lore wise. The 2 "clans" are almost complete opposites. Sea Wolves came from islands and are fishermen and pirates, typical brute strength. The Hellsguard live inside mountains and volcanoes, they still have their brute strength but they also have learned to use Magic. Roegadyn are also very religion in worship the Twelve, they don't suffer to blasphemy.

I'm not a RPer but I thought I'd throw all that out there.

XIV should make Roegadyn more great and proud themselves and not like in XI where we, humes, welcomed those poor galka to our home Bastok and named them stupid ones. lol

I have a roegadyn character, and I've always Role Played him to be the quiet stoic type. I don't know why really..it just seemed to fit.

Because I read too much classic pulp fiction. Also it's super fun being the big guy. Lots of dumb commedy fuel.

And maybe you can tell me what people see in Elezen.

Elezen are useful as firewood.... Roegadyne make good pack mule!

Elves rock lol I like their attitude lore-wise, especially in FFXI. My Elezen is based upon my Elvaan from FFXI, as he has the same looks except for the visible earrings, but he has the same hair, face and such.

ahh yes Hyur mince porridge cant get much more staple than that =)

for me I was a taru at XI since 2004.
when I played with a galka, all I see is their happy swinging white tail swing in front of me.
So, I wanted one as main char.

At 14 beta, I realized Roe don't have a tail, but I can see so far in compare to lala's view.
Also, my gears also have lots more detail than other races. So, that's why I kept it til now.

but now ARR has male kitty, and we will have different *cough*
so I have high chance to make my OTHER char as kitty with *cough cough*.

mann flu season... :P

Actually, I like Tarus as well but I prefer Galka far more

oh, also armor looks the best on larger races

Offtopic - Love the birdhouse sig! Glad you brought it back!

Ontopic - To me, Rogaedyn have always been the strong, dependable types that fit both the stoic and jolly aspects of a person. Secretly I wished my husband would pick Rogaedyn because of this but nooooooo~ he wanted to play Midlander.

As for why poeple pick elezen? I don't see myself being as cute as a lalafell (Though I did have a cool alt called Radish Spirit who was a lalafell with some 'tude!), I got bored with miqo'te since everyone and their uncle is a cat-girl... hyuran were cool but I found myself easily bored and they looked kinda vanilla, that left me with Elezen that seemed to fit my personality well ^^;.

It was based off of Elvaan in XI, who I saw some Selbina traveler out to make a name for herself, with the occasional snarky line and Southern accent.

As for my Elezen version, I dunno, I don't RP as much with her, but It's a more cynical look on the events, she didn't believe Urianger, didn't think much of the voice, and had to be told "but thou must" to enter the Path of the Twelve. "Reluctant hero" sort of thing.

(upon seeing Bahamut: "Well, that's...different.")

My companion was a roegadyn conjurer, the camera made sure to make him look badass with his wizard hat and dark past.

I play Roegadyn for the same reason most people play the race they like...eye candy~!

If (maybe only 10% chance) male kitty can have coincounter type of fluffy-happy-swing tail, some of you Roe players might switch to male kitty?
I think male kitty is kinda of metro-sex cool type feels like F. Roe.
So, I can choose 2 (main and mule) out of male kitty, f. Roe and M. Roe... it's tough call.
So, I want to hear other Roe player's opinion (and your reasons), and this is certainly not worth to open a new thread to bother other ppl ^^:

F. Roe
pro

• Merlwyb icy-cold face is super cool

• bigger frame, so I can finally see my own gears

• ... did I mention Merlwyb yet?

M. Roe

• M. Roe face getting better. I mean still looks nice. I mean in 1.0 looks nice. /sweat

• look at that shinny gears!

• most of the Roe players are cool and I wanna be cool

The best thing about Roegadyn and Elezen?

I wanted to play as a burly tough guy?

Beyond that, it's the closest thing the game currently has to a nonhuman race this side of cat people. I also think gear tends to look better / stand out more on them. Some of the more clothing-like gear doesn't look as good though (e.g. DoH/DoL stuff)

This about sums it up... both Roeg and Elez (F) give this vibe of health, fertility, kindness, and strength..

They seem the most "masculine"[/iunno]

I like hanging out with other Roegadyns. To me it seems that a certain type of player picks Roegadyn. They're more relaxed and don't take the world so serious.

I totally agree. lots mature & nice Roe players. at least Roe players are not: "I want to be super handsome/pretty type"
I also find one other type of players are super cool: "I don't care whether playing a female char will damage my RL masculine" type. I am who I am.
