If I have the FFXIII Item code for priority selection for PS3 Beta...

Then does that necessarily mean that I am in any way blocked from entering in any of the Alpha phases or PC tests? As much as I love to hear that I'd have priority selection for a PS3 Beta test, I would much rather be playing it on my PC, and still have a chance at being able to join in on the final phase of Alpha.

If not, then is there any accurate clarification on when and what my chances are for being able to access PS3 Beta?

I am sure I am not the only one wondering this, but I haven't seen anyone else asking about their chances on getting into PC tests as well, so.. here it is!

I would hope so, but remember, PS3 and PC are cross platform, and if I am already being considered for PS3 Beta, that is one beta slot taken up, meaning, I just have to wait until then to play it. Regardless, how would I be able to play if I no longer have access to a PS3? O-o That would be my primary concern.

They wouldnt know if you carried the ps3 code though so you are still up for the pc alpha/beta all you need do id apply im sure they wouldnt just lock someone out because of a promotional code :P

Well, I no longer have the code, but I did link it to my account for the Asuran Armguards. That being said, I am sure they can point out everyone that had the code based on linking it to their FFXIV account. If I needed to have the code on hand, well, I'm out of luck anyways for not having a PS3. I guess I'm just a very unlucky person. lol

If I recall, you could use that code for EITHER the armguards or a chance at ps3 beta...for a ps3 beta that never came. >.> If you already used it for the armguards then you don't have any kind of priority for ps3 beta.

Hmm, I remember a rep posted a new thread about this and I asked him about having the asuran armguards. I tried searching for that thread but I haven't found it yet. It may have been answered, and I do hope I still have the same chance at being in the next phase or maybe Beta.

I would just like my chance to provide some feedback, as opposed to how other game companies work their pre-launch games. Tera only used their CBTs to promote the game, so my feedback on their official forums was just totally pointless. PSO2 Beta test was all stress-testing, the servers would constantly crash so that was all they really had to work on. Blade and Soul is Korean, and sadly, I don't know any Korean, but, just like PSO2 it had server problems.

I've tested plenty of others too, but my main interest is in the FF series, and since I am an artist and follow Akihiko Yoshida's work, I'd like to be more involved in these events. Maybe being a tester doesn't say much or get my name out there, but it would definitely make me feel closer, and want to show that I am dependable.

I'm sure you'll get your chance, if not alpha then beta.

alpha and beta have nothing to do with eachother. People in the al0pha are not more or less likely to get immediate beta access, nor are people getting beta access more or less likely to get in the alpha.

besides, as Yoshi P has explained, you're not missing a whole lot- the content in the alpha is extremely limited.

I thought he mentioned that it was a possibility that he would carry over the alpha testers into beta? If it is not the same thing, and the applications start over again, then I can see your point. I'd rather be selected into Beta than into alpha with a possible chance of losing beta access.

Though, I think YoshiP would go with carrying over the alpha testers anyways, but that also depends on how many applicants there actually are and how many servers they are able to open up. It's really just a guessing game at the moment. lol

As far as I'm aware, all current players will eventually be able to play the beta.

I'm one of those poor saps. Lol. But the code was different from the Asuran Armguards code. I think there were too codes. Or something like that. Would be nice to know the fate of all those codes though. Presumably we're all still in the waiting on that PS3 beta.

In the link i posted to the Rep's thread, it was confirmed that it was the code that was being used for the Asuran Armguards.

I was wondering about this, I opted for the beta code so never got any armguards code. Only special Items I received was for buying the collectors box of XIV

Well, they said it was the same code used for the Asuran Armguards, whether you used it for the old ps3 beta or the in-game item, the code is still the same code that will be considered for this PS3 Beta

Was only useful from levels 1-10. lol But anyways, as long as you still have it, or used it to apply for the old PS3 Beta or used it for the Asuran Armguards, I believe that alone would be enough to qualify.

It's been been a long time since I registered my copy of xiii, and the SE support site is not all that helpful.

So we only had the option between the ps3 beta and gloves? Not both?

I had no clue about the gloves until a long time after I started playing. I thought that was just part of the CE. :confused:

Gloves and beta were linked. If you registered one, you registered both.

There was one catch with the gloves in 1.0 however: they only would appear on characters who were created AFTER the registration occured, not before.

On the other hand...

SE hinted that this may not necessarily be the case in ARR -- These items might become retroactively available, and given by an npc once the code is registered. This is due to the fact they are considering new promotional codes for the ARR release, and to do so would likely require a new exception for existing 2+ year-old accounts.

From the looks of it, even though we registered the gloves we can still register for the beta. I think SE will arrange something so that you all can see your code or maybe not need it at all.

Maybe not. I remember I was able to get my code into my 1.0 beta character because I registered my code before transferring my character. Or maybe it was before creating my character with the same name. I imagine transitioning from 1.0 to 2.0 will be the same.

I see. I definitely got the ps3 beta code, but that was it. I didn't start playing until much later, since I got tired of waiting for the console version.

If you still have the code, you might be able to link it to your xiv account. If its not linked, that could have been your issue.

The code allow you to get in the first wave of ps3 beta and the glove there both link so anyone who have the hands would get a email allowing them to get in the ps3 beta. Which by the look of it wont be too beta 3 of FFXIV 2.0
