Are you going to get back in the old game? If so, are you just spinning your wheels until Alpha opens on the 26th or trying to finish the end game? Personally I am probably just going to hang out and see if anyone shows up on my ls.

If you missed it, this is the message on Lodestone:
A date for the game server restoration announced in the thirty-sixth Letter from the Producer has now been scheduled.
Server Restoration Date
Wednesday, November 21, 2012 0:00 (PST)
* Login numbers will be measured at the end of each month. In the event that numbers drop below 30%, the servers will be shut down once more. An announcement will be made at that time.
Login Requirements
Only players with service accounts that have a listed “End Date” of September 30 (Sunday), 2012 or later (including free periods) are eligible to log in.
* To confirm the “End Date” for your service account, please visit the Square Enix Account Management System site and click Select Service under Service and Options, then select FINAL FANTASY XIV.

Game Content
Game content will be rolled back to Patch 1.23b (released on Thursday, September 13).
Selected updates made from Thursday, November 11 onwards will remain unaffected:
Increase in anima recovery rate
Reduction of all gear repair costs to 1 gil
Chance to obtain job-specific weapons on login for players who logged out in an inn room
Relaxed requirements for participating in “Bowl of Embers (Extreme),” and for undertaking the quests “To Kill a Raven” and “Living on a Prayer”
A Note on Character Data
Any progress made after November 1, 2012, including progress made following the restoration of game servers on November 21, 2012, will not carry over to A Realm Reborn.
Support Services
Support services will be available for all issues, excluding those that concern item restoration or in-game bugs.
* Please make a support enquiry if you are unable to play despite fulfilling the login requirements, or if you are experiencing trouble with character data that existed prior to the world servers going offline.
The Forums
In keeping with the policy outlined in Support Services above, the In-Game Bugs category in the forums will be locked.
* All other categories will remain open for posting.
I might take the time to fraps all the cutscenes from the journal in the inn.
Without game progression being saved, the average population of players online at any one time is going to be extremely low...
That in itself is enough to keep me away.
I think a lot of players have already found other things to occupy their free time with. A lot of people I know are already playing other games.
I just don't see the point.
I might go on a tour, taking some final 1.0 snaps but that's about it.
No point in playing further. Not sure what people will be doing. Sitting around in Uldah doing nothing most likely.
May log in for awhile just to greet a few people. Lately I've turned my attention to TERA (DON'T LAUGH!) to tide me over until 2.0 arrives. Game's bad, so bad... But I like the combat. *shrug*
Wait? There's combat? I thought it was all about the scantilly dressed characters and bouncing breasts o_O? Jokes asides(and I admit that the gameplay is fun), I don't expect the servers to remain open for many months. The last week after the final save only consisted of a very limited amount of people standing around uldah. With only there being a peak in population during JP prime time.
It's going to fall below 30% after the first week so quickly.
I wasn't intending to come on at all, but as I have decided to learn the keyboard controls after using the controller since launch, this would be a great opportunity to do so. Also a chance to invite people I missed before to the Straylight L.S web site.
Already uninstalled. Don't care to go through the installation/patching process again just to watch a few cutscenes, either.
I really don't see the point in them bothering with this, but if some people want it, it's fine, I guess.
People wanted them back up for whatever reason even though it's honestly a waste of time..nothing saves, no point in doing content especially since it's guaranteed there won't be enough people to support doing content outside of the off chance enough of your friends/linkshell logs in. Since after 2 years, most people done everything.
Can't even use this time to practice content, since none of the content exists in the same form in ARR.
I'm going to clean up the rest of the side quests I missed and finish off the recordings I want to do.
Plenty to do for a while.
I misread, mine expires March 2013 I misread it as 2012 so it didn't make any sense to me, I guess reading the year on a date can sometimes be important lol I was all like, NOOOOO, I want to see my cutscenes again.......
Thank you Elexia :)
I might log in to check out CSs look for clues and stuff
still cant see what the point is. you cant make any progress.
Yeah, I'd have to agree with this. You may actually end up confusing yourself further if you learn keyboard and mouse controls for 1.0 before heading to 2.0. The systems are going to be pretty different. Worst case scenario: you might end up hating the 1.0 KB+M controls, never giving them a real chance in 2.0 as a result.
I also played 1.0 with a controller, but I haven't decided which system I'll use for 2.0. Both new control schemes look pretty sexy in my opinion. Can't wait to try them both out!
Log in, play with Bravura and Stardust some, see what its like vs other gear. Log back off a few days after I've played with both since I dont need a third game right now to distract me even further from waiting for arr lol.
Btw..alpha..26th..hm? I guess I overlooked that detail in the letter or something, next phase of alpha for outside of japan is at the end of the month?
I was going to think of logging in partly to talk to friends, and partly for something most people on here don't seem to comprehend which is fun, MMOs aren't all about ze uber gearz you can have fun when progress will not be saved into ARR.
However after seeing the End of an era trailer it doesn't feel right to log in.
The message when you look at lodestone or try to sign in says: "SERVERS OFFLINE!"
This message is wrong. The servers ARE up!

It is weird signing on. I was on my Choco with the crashed airship overhead. Everything is eerily quiet.
Already unistalled. Brining it back after the grand finale is a bit meh.
The only thing I would log back in ever for is if they redid the final cutscene to involve OUR characters and we can watch it from our inn room now that there's no chance of anyone leaking the CS before the final event. But as that is not going to happen, already uninstalled, see you all in ARR.
when would they shut the servers down if not enough are logging in?
I appreciate what you mean about the keyboard controls being different in ARR, however it's having used the controller for other games outside of FFXIV for such a long time even just the ordinary basics are going to take a lot of practice before the keyboard is familiar. Just normal things which anyone used to the keyboard would think nothing of, such as smooth navigation whilst switching from target to target attack / agro and move on in a leveling party all on the fly without awkwardness. As I say this would be ordinary unremarkable stuff to a regular keyboard user. At the moment, oh dear, this is going to take time XD
Yeah, I already uninstalled the game, so now I'm just waiting patiently until the 2.0 beta. Ironically I replaced it with The Old Republic for the time being.
I have a feeling alpha will not be starting on the 26th as for 1.0 no I wont be playing it. I had to re install windows and I don't see the point in installing the game again now. There is no point in 1.0 now progression wont be saved anyway.
27 people online on Sarga >.>; with only 3 outside of Uldah/InnRoom
I don't see this lasting very long.
I might log in to take few pics
I usually play with not great settings but I will put everything to the max to take some nice pic then bid farewell to the game
I was thinking of logging in, but the ending was so beautiful... Logging in now would feel strange. I'll leave it to ARR.
I see absolutely no reason for me to log back in 1.0, especially when ARR worldwide alpha is so close. I played the recent event on GW2 for something to do, but otherwise I'm not even playing an MMO until ARR comes out.
But saying that, I also get the impression that we won't be getting access to alpha on the 26th. We would have heard something by now I'd have thought, unless they are leaving it right to the last moment to send out keys.
