In 5 years...

I thought this would be a pretty fun game. Make predictions on what XIV will be like in 5 years.

I'll start.


In 5 years, SAMs will be overpowered.

I'm seein some forgettin possibly, and I'm seein a new baby in the next 3 months.

I will have made an army of kittens with every miqo'te out there.

DRK will still miss every weapon skill

In 5 years, the game will be dying. This game, if it succeeds, will have a good 3 year stretch of development high and then get retracted to a B team, causing the quality to fall off and people to leave. If it fails, it will die very fast and we won't see anything of it by 5 years time.

Expect a lot of "Remember when FFXIV was good?" if the first option in 5 years.

DRG will be the most popular job still simply because it "looks cool".
Huge level cap raise that makes half the player base quit after making all our gear useless.
Servers are old and dated causing major issues.

Instead of going North to attack the Garleans and explore the Northern continent. We'll go to a small island and find out that the Ishgardians were Garleans all along.

Then after that, instead of going North to attack the Garleans we'll travel to the "Void" where a bunch of the monsters come from. It will have nothing to do with the Garlean threat but some person from the way West will tell us that there's a good reason to go to the void.

After that we'll head West where we finally get to another continent but we won't be able to explore the whole thing and we'll never get to see where that guy was actually from .

Once we're done with that we'll go back in time then visit all the old zones like La Noscea, Thanalan, and the Black Shroud, but it'll be the time between Bahamut's attack and the beginning of ARR.

Then we'll find out we didn't actually go back in time but we travelled to an alternate universe, so all of the questions we had about the five year period between Bahamut's attack and ARR are never answered.

After that we'll go to a different place that is like the "Void" and like the past but neither.

By this time we no longer care about the Garleans so we don't really have a reason to try to attack them anymore. That picture of the Eorzea world map will always have clouds over it and PS3 support will be dropped because of PS3 limitations. We'll always wonder... wtf did the mapmaker draw effing clouds on a map.

This thread will be completely forgotten.

And nobody will give a shit.

FFXIV destroys the life of 90% of the playerbase by making them addicted to the gold saucer gambling games. Then during maintenance, all these addicts rush to casinos in real life, wasting all their money, can't pay the rent, food, internet bill anymore.

And so, it will be the first time a MMO hits the cover of all big newspapers in the world.

In 5 years our characters will awaken to A Realm Reborn

In 5 year will be an Abassya 2.0 and we could return to the 1.0 world to do the 99% of the thing since 2.0 will be useless then.

Why is everyone suddenly being so critical about what 2.0 will become?

Everyone's excited, but suddenly now everyone seems to just hate XIV

Why bother playing? If this is how some of you feel? Don't bother even waiting. Get off XIV forums and go play something else.

I'm not joking or trolling, not even hating XIV.

Since on XI we could use maw to travel to the past, on XIV having 2.0 world would be nice that at some time we could go to 1.0 world so new people can see the old Eorzea with the add on new content like dungeons or NM. The 99% of the useless thing on 2.0 it's because like on FFXI post abyssea, all the thing there were pre-aby become so useless, well it's kinda normal, new things push out the old.

In 5 Years, Girls will have bigger boobs.

In 5 years I'll finally get that damn darklight cowl.

In 5 years we'll finally get dx11 support (when dx13 comes out)

In 5 years, I'll come back and see my small shop become a big corporate rulling all the server's economy. dubbed the richest cat.

In 5 years, everyone will be comparing the Final Fantasy XIV expansion packs to Chains of Promathia...and how they're not as good.

In 5 years XIV will be in the middle or starting a new expansion and be as popular as ever.
I just logged into FFXI and there were 400 people in Port Jeuno.. this game will probably run far longer than XI- just my 2 cents.

In 5 years I will have emerged from my stasis with miqo'te ears and a tail o_o

In 5 years time the whitemages will be complaning that Red Mage and SMN are overtaking their position as main healer!
Also Ishgard is finally opening it's doors to players and it becomes new Whitegate of FFXIV.

In 5 years you wont need to level or farm gear, it will all appear on your character with no efforts. This goes for all MMOs 5 years from now. Investing time into MMOs is sooo 2003!

- Roegadyn female "Merlwyb clones" will be giving free teleports in Ishgard
- The psychotic lalafell twins (Popokkuli and Seserukka) are now the undisputed champions of the battle arena (at New Limsa?)
- Hildebrant would have started his own "Tenshodo" mafia
- And Monk will have Super-Saiyan mode like this...

Should be in 1½ years. I'll have a blast as samurai.

It will have been ported to PS4. This time it will be proper HD and have a better framerate.
