Did Cid, Louisoix and others knew about Bahamut? lots of questions...

Did they knew all along it was sealed in there? If so, why didńt they warned us of what was inside of that thing.

Dont u think (like it was mentioned in some other post) that it will be weird that in just 5 years, all the cities are rebuild, everthing is pretty and Bahamut is just chillin out there?

SE placed the bar VERY high IMO and they better deliver a SOLID AND LOGICAL story.

Nobody but van Darnus known what was in reality dalamud. Since the story will continue in ARR, wel'' know more only then.

Cid might have known. He's the one that caused the previous catastrophe with Dalamud.

All of the characters shown, except for the 'stock party' and citizens seem so stoic when Bahamut begins to emerge. I can't say for sure who did or didn't know, but I'm willing to bet someone did. The stock party seemed shocked because we are supposed to be them, and we're supposed to be shocked, because we don't know.

Of course, maybe Louisoix is just someone who is completely calm under pressure. I'm also especially curious about Cid because of the way he looks up at the sky as Dalamud descends... there is a moment where you see just his face.

Yeah.. that is why I asked.. since Cid and his father knew... so why not do something ....

Well Louisonix would def know since he himself is an arceon (hourglass) and and since bahamut was put in there a first time, that would make him knowledgeable and experienced about bahamuts imprisonment. Cid would know to since he caused the last dalamuds ascension (not sure why he did it in the first place.

Those two would know, as far as anyone else it's up in the air. The people that were praying to the gods in the end of era trailer, they would have at least been told about it since they would have to know everything about the enemy, but they could have been clueless too and been told to just prray at X place really hard.

As far as I know, Cid only knew about weaponizing Dalamud via "Meteor", not that it had a delicious nougat center.

I don't think they could do something. Hence why they sealed Bahamut in the first place and sent him into space.

I'm pretty sure Louisoix knew and it seemed that Cid knew as well as the other patron's. It was like they were all preparing for it since the patron's were praying for there deity once Bahamut was released and the leaders of the GC seemed prepared for it too. The reaction time to attempting to reseal him was pretty quick, though that first key that fell never seemed to make it back and I think thats why he couldn't be sealed! I wonder what it means.

Also maybe Bahamut got trapped there, I mean there is a place called "The Labyrinth of Bahamut" makes me wonder if Louisoix trapped Bahamut in that area or something. Who knows

when they had the citadel incident it was only described as a light that wiped out the city, i guess the empires meteor device was something really stupid (well they didn't know) like loosening the seal to let bahamuts destructive force spill out enough to weaponize it, they most likely didn't know where that power came from and chalked it up under "the allag built something awesome lets use it" so its unlikely cid knew about bahamut

Louisoix on the other hand knew about it most likely, he prepared the renewal of the same seal that made dalamud in the first place with the help of the 12, but this time it couldn't contain the beast for some reason. (my guess is atomos weakened the aether of the realm even more than the primals already did)

Also did anyone notice those little things, like how all the other adventurers left with their Relic but the Warrior or How the Paladin actually did the Spirits Within Combo in the video Phalanx > Spirits within : O!

My head spins with questions and honestly I can't tell anymore what I read in game quests, read around about the game's known plot or simply made it up... so please don't take my theories as certain.

My guess is this has happened before (As Eorzea eras are marked by catatastrophes of mass distruction) and the Circle of knowing (Archons) might be made of their survivors/important entities/possessor's of the Echo and manifestations of the 12(as the 12 are connected to the era swaps, I think?). Their goal might be simply to keep Eorzea safe and prevent the next disaster.

It'd also explain why/if we get a neck tattoo... we'd be the next survivors and new members of the Circle.

Bahamut being imprisioned was probably the last attempt at delaying the new era (or even what the 12 originally did).

Curious myself, I think they did. who imprisoned him in the first place was it the 12 and the last time it stuck? those things that shot up in the air at the end and if you noticed lous weapon head was missing, and cid was standing there like he knew. I need answers..

I have been having a thought that Louisoix knew, he also knew there was no way of stopping Dalamud falling, so him and Cid kept us going on the quests (like the lunar transmitter) to keep our hopes up, Louisoix also knew how to seal Bahamut in what seems like the same way as the Allagan empire did, which adds weight to this theory.

If they had just said "hey guys there's no way to stop Dalamud and there's a huge dragon locked inside that will blow Eorzea up" how will that keep moral up?

My bets are Cid at least knew we couldn't stop Dalamud, but Louisoix also knew what was in it, and how to stop it, but he also knew we needed the faith of the adventurers and to fight the Garleans to stop Bahamut so he kept quiet, got us to do our part, whilst keeping our hopes alive. Without hope an army would be useless.

If anyone did know, what could they have done about it? Nothing other than summoning the Twelve could have been done.
Since Garlemand seemed to have the technological upper hand by having airships, there's no way that the Eorzean alliance, even with the Sharlayans on side, could have gone one better and mastered rockets and attempted to blow up the egg like in FF7.

I agree with some of your points of view

I personally think that Cid and Louisoix DID know but somehow they had hope that it woudl be stopped. They held the info from us to avoid panic I gues..

And now, how will they explian ATOMOS? and that labrynth thingy... will Bahamut just chill there?
How is this this dungeon created etc etc.

Seems 5 years is very very few time. 50 years would be more appropriate IMO

Cid knew of the power of Dalamud but only in regards to the 'Meteor Project' - we have no evidence that Bahamut emerged from Dalamud his father's time.

Nael Van Darnus didn't know either. I think he saw Dalamud as first as a weapon to destroy Eorzea with, and as it got closer, he become obsessed with it and heard it speak to him (perhaps it did?). Either way, there was no evidence that Van Darnus had any knowledge of what Dalamud really was.

But Louisiox tried to recreate Dalamud when he saw Bahamut, he obviously knew what he was dealing with.

Bahamut was sealed there during or before the 4th Umbral era because we know it was the Allagans that created Dalamud, and the 4th Umbral era wiped them out. I would believe it was Bahamut himself that pretty much wiped them out, then the survivors decided to imprison him in Dalamud, makes sense.

let's say all astral eras are 1,500 years long (time since the 6th Umbral era to the 7th) that would make it around 4,500 years ago he was imprisoned.
