oh wow that was pretty cool :)
Awesome, glad someone captured it, else I'd have never seen it. ; ;
Oh wow I never seen that before ours went down, pretty cool!
Yea, if only I could log in and be waiting at my special peninsula :(
After getting disconnected over 9000 times in Mor Dhona, we all just ported back to Thanalan to watch the end. We didn't get to see that there, so thanks for sharing. :-)
I have been looking for more videos with this extrange glow, nothing! is this really the only video that recorded it?
When I was hit with the 'final dc', my game remained intact without the dreaded 'dc' message... so I was able to run around for a while even though I was at R0. I decided to take one last recording of the world I knew so well before I shut the game. I ran around and recorded the dozens of people, standing still, frozen in time as they are fighting. I also took a good look at Dalamud before I finally closed my game, and it didn't appear any different... though there is NO DENYING what you can see in your video. I guess it is simply triggered right before the end, and then returns to normal at the moment the final DC hits. I don't know exactly what happened when the final DC hit because someone linked me the final video and I immediately went to watch it... it wasn't until after I was done with the video that I realized my game was still on/functional.
So...uh...I didn't see anything =/
I think, in a perfect world where the servers weren't an issue, Dalamud would be starting to glow like it did in the OP's video.
When you then get disconnected from the countdown, the game no longer sends this "glow" data to you, and the Dalamud returns to normal while you're R0. The glow of Dalamud in the game probably correlates to the part in the trailer where the spires in Dalamud start breaking away.
Basically, take the eerie glow of Dalamud in the game, then immediately cut to the trailer where you would have started to R0.
I witnessed this 'glow' happen as well- But myself and my fiance (we play right next to each other) had it happen on his screen and not mine. And when it happened it was around the 8min 40second mark before servers officially shut down.
When it happened he asked "wait is this glow suposed to be here?" and when I looked over we saw it die down and disappear. We have Sandboxie running another client in the background just for the launcher countdown and it was around the 9~8.40ish mark when I checked immediately after witnessing the glow.
---so we kinda dismissed it as it was around 8~9mins from end and it only happened on his computer.
I'm unsure if this was intentional or just a bloom effect gone iffy since my screen did not witness the same thing. My settings were lower than his so perhaps it was a issue of bloom/lighting effects off.
for me it just looks like he lowers the camera angle so the glowy circle seems to be bigger/brighter.. which it is not ;D like turning the camera around when looking into the sun. sometimes it glows very bright, and sometimes not that much. depending from which angle you look.
but maybe im wrong.
Dalamud for me, from a lalafell point of view within the last week:

i would think so..
or maybe i am wrong. i have watched it again and it really seem to grow.. but well, who knows.
when i recorded this video was right at the moment when server went down for good.... if u watch again the video you will se that i was moving the camera an sec 52 and noticed some weird glowing in dalamud so i focus on it! but never moved upside down like someone says it might be the angle of the camera... it wasnt! i was pretty focusing on dalamud because i was expecting something to happend and there u go!! :D
maybe not many people saw it because we all were focusing on the laggy and kicking out of the server belive it or not im glad i recorded this and hoping u guys enjoy it as i did /panic

I also caught that glow on video but I keep my videos unlisted since it has alot of silly chatter between me and my friends and I don't feel like listening to people cry about me talking alot. :P
It did that a few times on my video, kinda pulsated every so often.
