Okay, not Shinryu. Retracting the point about that being very Final Fantasy.
One thing I don't get though. Did the summoning of the Twelve fail?

Yes, it did.
Nope, Bahamut.
And yes, apparently a single entity is stronger than all the twelve weaklings combined.
(We have seriously been worshiping the wrong gods.)
Yes, yes it did.
Notice how he BREAKS FREE of it
I think its Bahamut, judging by the shape of its chest (reminiscent of X's one kinda). And yeah, it looks like it overwhelmed its seal.
There is no doubt it is bahamut
The summoning did fail =(
As a last resort we were sent away.
Yeah, I don't get how the "Gods" failed. If we beat this in 2.0 as a boss, does that imply we are stronger than 12 Gods?? Like, what?
Fucking christ. That was sad and awesome all at the same time.
the summoning gone good, but bahamuth/shinryu/oneofthese was stoo strong and destroyed the summoning.
Btw, all forgotten to me !
Looks like Bahamut to me, but yeah it seems the summoning of the 12 failed. Perhaps they weren't strong enough to trap a fully rested up beast.
(It looks like Dalamud itself was the same container they attempted to reseal him in) So perhaps there was more to the ritual to seal him back up)
More or a less they tried to re imprison him, and it failed, the summoning itself worked.. but I think it kind of shows just how strong that bastard is.
Is TIAMAT, looks like tiamat
Perhaps summoning of the 12 failed because there wasn't enough Aether. Perhaps the primals did drain too much after all?
I got flashbacks of this

while watching that trailer
It looks like Bahamut, but Shinryu's kind of like the one that ends worlds, y'know.
Also, it didn't use any sort of megaflare.
Also: yay at full CGI Thancred.
bawww at full CGI Thancred getting blown up alongside everyone else, sob.
Lunar curtain is designed to protect you against the supreme magical attack Darnus draws from Dalamud.
Megaflare.
Bahamut.
Really basic math here, folks.
Looks like bahamut but i'd say it's more like shinryu. And it seems to me that the summoning did work, the twelve just weren't strong enough to contain the beast. The summoning of the twelve was simply a distraction while Louisoix finished sending us off.
Seems that the twelve were possibly the ones who trapped Bahamut up there in the first place?
I have ZERO doubt that is Bahamut.
The Megaflare attack from Darnus, the scope of power from the dragon, the shape of the dragon's chest, etc. It's something you can just "feel". It's Bahamut, and we just got owned.
it's bahamut guys, more people know who bahamut is so they are definitely going to use a more popular namesake
pretty insane that he just broke free of the 12, they must not really be gods?
either way we have our 2.0 antagonist, and if he really killed louisoix, all the GC leaders, and our friends thancred and co i will enjoy killing him in ARR for revenge
Bahamut? Kind of boring, but then I've always found dragons sort of lame
Would have preferred Ultima/Omega Weapon
Dalamud was made many eras ago by the Allagan empire, right?
A friend of mine pointed this out, but 'Dalamud' sounds similar to 'Bahamut'.
In other words the Allagan Empire sealed Bahamut at the expense of their empire.
clearly: Bahamut.
Why Bahamut? Neal uses Mega Flare. Because he was literally channeling Bahamut. Pretty simple FF knowledge here.
The Twelve were most likely the ones that originally sealed Bahamut in the first place, due to the similarity of the prison to Dalamud.
Why did it fail? Most likely because Bahamut was too strong this time around. The ritual was in progress, and Bahamut was fresh from his release. His previous imprisonment was most likely following some kind of battle where he was defeated as a result. The weakened Bahamut was easily sealed by the Twelve, something that did not happen this time around.
The 12 didn't stack enough M.Acc
Maybe the Twelve sealing spell wasn't enough to contain him since he had absorbed the power of the primals.
its bahamut, no question. that was clearly megaflare charging at the end. although it seems to be fire based and not nonelemental
im more likely thinking...but the dragon of the OP (the1 that is in mor dhona) wtf he was doing? i mean, all the battle was in his area and when bahamut comes he does nothing?
Definitely Bahamut.
Wondering how exactly 2.0 world is post-Bahamut. Bahamut was going postal. o.o I doubt even the Empire can stop that...
(O.< ) I don't see how the world would recover from an angry Dragon King in five years.... this alternate-universe thing is seeming more and more likely.... I think our Eorzea is screwed, and nothing can be done. ;_; I think they are all gone.
So I guess this is the "another/other" Ifrit and Garuda referenced in the cutscenes.
They were starting to close him back in, but then it exploded outward. They weren't able to do it. That's why Louisoix had to send us... erm, away.
The summoning worked in that we called the Twelve, but they just weren't strong enough...
i heard shinryu is made out of relics
I guess Hildibrand didn't make it...
Wasn't everyone saying the Dragon from the original opening who brought about the primals, wasnt he supposed to be Bahamut? If THIS is Bahamut, who the devil is wrapped around the airship in Mor Dohna?
