No customer service forum?

I did not see a customer service forum when I came here so I guess I'll just post this in general.

Why wasn't a recall done on FF14 from distributors? Everyone knows it is not in a release ready state yet it is still on store shelves and the description of the game on the box fools people into thinking that it's a ready to play and immersive MMO.

This game fits the definition of defective yet it is still out there to snare unsuspecting victims. Either recall this game until it is ready for release or issue a disclaimer on it so people know what it is they are getting.

Oh yes, remove the only thing that can make them profits for this game. Only to pay to reship them when it's "ready'.
What about people who would like to play or hook up to play with friends as the game is now? Are they left out in the cold? Everyone knows what they are getting into, there is more than enough negative press/comments out there to warn people of the "dangers" of playing the game in it's current state. Perhaps people know about upcoming content and want to be able to participate in it, not be a rank 1 newbie but have some levels and skills ready to go when the dungeons/raid environments go live. When do you think it would be acceptable to sell the game? PS3 release? When they have an expansion pack and bundle it? I don't think you thought this through very well.

I'm not a fanboy, I'm well aware the game has problems. But they are running a business, it makes zero sense from that standpoint to do what you are asking. They might as well light cash on fire, it would do the same amount of good. Actually, might save money over what you are suggesting. I have friends in the game, I'm sorry if I actually somewhat enjoy the current content, while being hopeful that new things are around the corner.

So you enjoy grinding marmots? or doing 'side quests' that reward nothing more than vendor loot? oh wait they are making the quest mobs give xp/sp now. Huzzah.

More people do not like this game than do. Pat yourself on the back for being one of the special snowflakes that do. I am saying a recall until it is release worthy would go a long way in getting people to trust square again. I can't even walk through a video game section without sighing every time I see this cover there.

I don't think it's necessarily a faulty product. It works. And most of the advertised material is present (just in really dilute quantities). I think there is still fun to be had in the game.

A persistent and evolving world with immersive storylines and well-developed characters.
Not at all
HD-quality, real-time cutscenes
few and far between but yes there are some
Guild-based activities focused on catering to players with different gaming styles
Not at all, unless they are talking about guildleves
Both quick and extensive gameplay sessions, accessible in solo and group play
I have yet to see any of these extensive gameplay sessions unless I'm sitting in uldah talking to my LS. Group play is a joke.

The music is good.

The game is not broken, it is playable, no monthly fees are charged.

Exactly. The product is not defective. It is playable. And some people are actually enjoying it. I for one, enjoy it cuz I want to be able to say I've been there from the beginning when this game gets brilliant.

And if you're buying a game, you're the only one responsible for not knowing what you're getting. Or do you buy Barbie games and then go back to the store complaining that the game is horrible and they should remove it from the stores?

They work. If you don't like it, it's your fault. Don't buy it in the first place.

The cost to recall the product wouldn't be in SE's interest as Wobi said.

Of course they shouldn't be producing more either. (no idea if they are or not)

Two things, first of all if you look around, they have a customer support phone number you can call. All this thread is is you being irritated and poking at people who even bother to fight your issues.

Who doesn't know about the state of XIV by now. Every gamer makes an investment each time you purchase a product. I'm sure we all have purchased some games and went "WTF I thought the game would be better than this!" lmao especially if you bought XIV.

SE doesn't need to recall the game because they already have enough people preventing others from buying it. The game is also playable and not defective in anyway. They are losing enough money already by keeping the game F2P.

The OP has a point. Someone who wouldn't know is more than likely not an mmo player, but an FF fan picking it up and giving it a try. If I had spent 50-60 bucks expecting what the cover described, and got this, I'd be upset too. And likely, I wouldn't be giving it a second try.

I'm not sure what the proper course of action is. I don't expect SE to put, "Warning, our game is still under construction" labels on the boxes, but at the same time, it should be available if anyone wants to play.

To the OP more specifically, I'm sorry you feel that way... but the money is spent, and the monthly fee is free atm. If you don't want to play it right now, I'd suggest putting it on the shelf for awhile until they get things fixed up.

I'm going to have to go with this as well. We're not living in the 80s where you had to either take a blind jump of faith or wait for a magazie/friend/etc. to review a game. Reviews are a dime a dozen nowdays thanks to the internet and you can always ask around about the game if you're still not sure.

Why have a customer support section, when they have no customers ? makes no sense

And since you do need internet to play the game, the "not having access to the internet" argument is not valid. ;P so, I'd say anyone who buys this game, knows what to expect. And let's face it. You won't really notice the lack of content when you're somewhat advanced in game now. Except for chocobos :(

Well, I'd add in that in most gaming stores, the sales people will make it blatantly obvious to you that the game has had a rocky start. I know they did for me and I bought it anyway because I knew what I was getting myself into.
