Pretty much this. It's stupid to have a relic without really trying for it. This is something that many people earned, and for me to get a free ride for a weapon just kind of kills the joy of having it.

Pray SE deletes our save data so everyone talking about hard work can actually work to get their paragon crown opposed to the 1 day it took to level 50 in 1.0 (then watch the torrent of flames on the forums XD)

Implying that we know leveling will be drawn out as Yoshi has said so.

Also know that killing mobs will reward negligible experience so power leveling has been serverly hampered to running level dungeons and quests which will run out which will in turn be running events which are on schedules.

(Also dungeons we know we will be level synced - so you cant powerlevel within one)

Lvling a craft or gather is real hard work. Moreso, lvling all of them.

I don't think we are complaining about having a relic until Nov 11th.... If I get a Stardust Rod when I log in tonight I sure as hell am going to equip it and have my fun. However I wouldn't want it carried over to 2.0 as I have not earned it and would be a slap in the face to those who have.

PL is gone in 2.0 he said many time that the way we level now wont work in FFXIV 2.0. Which mean no more camp party so that goes PL but i'm sure people would find a quick and easy to level always happens. Hoping level in 2.0 is slower then now -.- right now it just a joke

I propose an NPC in ARR that will give players who defend the cities now ONE relic and only one, then we can choose whether we want to claim it or not.

Or even legacy members (waits for the flames from none legacy)

I wouldn't mind an NPC that offered full AF.

And I wouldn't mind an NPC that upped all of our jobs to 50.

That way, we could try out other things for fun.

There's a reason why relics needed a QUEST to get....so you can't get it with a snap of the fingers. Asking for your prizes to be carried over is a slap in those who have been through the quest, suffered death and the learning curve, and put in the time to earn it. Even 1 relic is already too much to be free.

9 beastmen seals? That would probably be a better compromise, but certainly still a slap in the face for those who earnt it.

Well then, those who only played 2.0 shouldn't feel slapped because they didn't sit through the turd of the game 1.0 was at launch. I'd say that it would be justified for 1.0 players, but relics? They're asking for FREE relics to be carried over. 1.0 wasn't free at all, even disregarding the monetary aspects of it.

You have your relic for 5 days. Enjoy it while it lasts. Then work FOR it in 2.0. Is it that hard to ask for? Rather than needing everything at once....and people wanted content and not stuff handed to them.

Sorry if I sound grumpy, but the idea just really strikes a nerve in me. And I don't even have my first proper relic yet.

I wouldn't mind this idea, if it were released way after mythic/empyrean weapons are released and relics are considered "old news".

Complaining about a request that we 100% know will never happen just makes you look like a entitled ass. Enjoy, and let others enjoy, the last week of the game and don't try to smash their enthusiasm.

1.0 players dont need any more bribes then already given. (Refering to a conversation on going with whoopeeragon and also people asking for "1.0 onRy" players getting a free relic)

We already have had the opportunities for easy gil, easy seals, easy levels, easy items and dungeons (no level syncs and faster leveling meant more time on the harder items), and many exclusive items - oh and we get more characters and pay less money per month.

Seriously. . . if anything all 2.0 only players should get 500% exp and gil bonuses for the first month not us 1.0 being rewarded further.

We got legacy, no more candy - please.

So i made sure i logged out in the Inn for my "Special Suprise" and what do i get? A smegging Shield...of which i can't equip ; ; ah well still beats finding a fish in my bed!

Did you not read my second post? I am having fun with the relics for the next 5 days:

Also, I specifically mentioned that I don't have a relic. So I don't see how that makes me an entitled ass. If anything, those asking for these relics to be carried over are the entitled ones. I really don't see the fun in that.

And I agree with this post. We got more than enough of rewards and opportunities for sticking through with this game. No need for additional benefits.

If they did this, they should make it so that you choose a job to get relic for. I say this because PLD would get the short end of the stick otherwise (they need Curtana and Holy Shield).

I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't do this. However, I wouldn't be surprised if they did do this. They have given away relics and mythics before in FFXI. Of course, it was through contests for Vanafest. I don't care if they do this or not, as I have not put the work in to get a relic. But, if they do this, I would have no issues (you know they say don't look a gift horse in the mouth).

You misunderstand me. If this were to carry over to 2.0 what enjoyment would I get from having it? Right now, it's fun to have because I know I'm not going to keep it. I get to take nice little pictures of me with my temp relics, and I'm fine with that. My statement isn't in retrospect of here today for the end of days.

This person isn't threatening to quit because they got the items for free. They're threatening to quit because someone else got them. Just clarification.

Even so, if keeping these items meant I'd have to see players like TohruHonda leave, then I don't think I'd spend much time mourning their departure. Bring on the free stuff!

i'd be pissed off if we got to keep them. i don't want to log in for the possibility so if they not say we get to keep them then i'm not logging in to waist my time to get them. and if at the end we do keep them, like others said i'ma just quit. fuk all that shit.also can you imagine all the hard work some put in for them, it's already bad enough that it went from a year to get all 50's to a few weeks to level them. any way as nice as it is to not work for your game gear... sarcasm, then it wouldn't be a mmo, go play offline games with online possibilities in them, or get on the phone while playing them and leave mmo's alone. tyvm.

The more people rage at the possibility of players keeping these items, the more I want them to do another save just out of spite. DO IT.
