Prayers for Eorzea

On Balmung tonight we decided to try a few things having to do with praying at the stones. I figured I'd post it here so that others could modify it and try it as well, and post their results.

First, we tried just mass praying at a stone in Ul'dah (it is the one being attacked most heavily on Balmung at the moment). We had around 15-20 people pray nearly simultaneously to no result.

Next, we created a LS and dispersed, sending one person to each stone. We did a countdown and prayed around 10 times at each stone simultaneously to no result.

Things we want to try:
**Each person at their OWN DEITY'S stone (We were unable to get enough people to do this method, that's why we tried just one person at each stone regardless of their deity.)
**A party (or two, or three..!) makes the full pilgrimage from Living on a Prayer, praying together at each stone.

Please let us know your results and what methods you have tried if you have tried any praying at the stones! :)

Just an idea but maybe the rings we obtained from the prayers quest may link to these current event in some way or form D:

Yes, that was another thing we were thinking. Wear your ring, everyone pray at their diety.. that sort of thing. We just couldn't get enough people to do all thirteen stones.

lol, yeah i can hardly even get eight people to form party as is atm, hopefully try again 2mrw with better results! :D i'm hoping the only way to kill the goobue isn't just spamming it with people and involves something of greater power and offers rewarding feeling after completion :D

I tried doing this yesterday but only a few people were up for even trying to explore alternative options.

I'd love to try a more focused effort with more people.

If you form a group I'll be in it.

We should make a checklist of things to try and scratch them off as we do them i.e.

I. Large group travels as one and does a pilgrimage to all twelve stones.
A.) Make sure your deities ring is equipped

II. A Full Party consisting of people with the same deity travels to their respective deities altar and prays with their ring equipped.
A.) Full Party x 12 prays simultaneously at each altar

III. Pilgrimage in the same order as the quest "Living on a Prayer"
A.) Pilgrimage in the opposite order of "Living on a Prayer"

IV. Pilgrimage to all twelve altars without teleporting (least likely to instigate any outcome but what the hell right?)
A.) Pilgrimage to all twelve altars in a large group wearing your deities ring w/out teleporting in order of "Living on a Prayer"
B.) Pilgrimage to all twelve altars in a large group wearing your deities ring w/out teleporting opposite "Living on a Prayer"

Didn't Soken hint about going to the altars on Twitter or something? Heard a rumor about that in the other thread.

I'm going to repost this in the other prayer threads but here's another thing to consider, going off the evidence at the stones that there is one of each "class" of imperial do we need to have a party that consists of one of each class or job? Does it need to be a full party of eight or can a "Lucky 7" do the job?

It's an interesting theory, and I do think SE is trying to chase us out of Ul Dah now because the mobs take hours on end to defeat. The last thing we had to do after defeating the normal raven was indeed to pray, and then there's the gloomy version of the track answers. Aside of the mixed part of the 2 quires, I know the lyrics pretty much by heart. Maybe those that were kept in are some hints on what we might be able to do.

These are all the lyrics that are still present. And I made those that refer something to pairs bold.
Just adding an idea of what else might be there.

We need to make this the priority now... now just stand around defending Uldah from mobs that we can't kill! Couldn't get a full party to try praying at one stone last night.... starting an LS for this is a good idea though.

I'd just go for 12 full parties of 8 (that's 96 adventurers) praying at all 12 shrines simultaneously...
anyone on the Japanese forum threads already talking/doing this with some degree of success?

We have "Number 126" Golems in Sargatanas... THOSE are pretty much immortal. We were throwing WARs at it to spam vengeance over and over and it took 2 hours to get it to about 86%, before some griefer kited it away and made it regen.

I went back to pray at my own dietys stone....

Another method we are going to try once we have more support: taking a full pt (or 2 or 3..) to each stone in order of Living on a Prayer and praying together.

I support this option if it hasn't been done already. I wanted to do this last night but I couldn't remember the order or locations of the stones.

I'm sure there's a post on Eorzeapedia detailing the quest.

If anyone on Balmung wants to join the "Prayers for Eorzea" LS I, as well as many others, can invite.

I say we should try Aysun's attempt (Full Party in order of Living on a Prayer) tomorrow 11/03/2012 @ 3PM PDT (4MDT, 5CDT, 6EDT) or until available. I'll post here presenting any new findings.

That should be easy enough to manage. To be safe, all members involved should have their deity's ring equipped and create a diverse party with a representative from at least one of each job. Not that it's likely to matter but it's worth a shot.

I'm checking them out now and so far Althyk and Azeyma i have found with imperial troops guarding them

Oschon is guarded as well.

I did notice that all the stones seemed to have the song Dalumud Answers playing @ them. In Limsa when I prayed to my god there, it actually started for me... it was weird cause the limsa music was playing then BAM silence... followed by the rumbling. When we formed Prayers for Eorzea we tried getting people at all the spots however, it proved difficult. I think forming parties of 8 people with the same god and having them pray at all 13 stones simultaniously....might be worth an option... (when we originally started it was because I found one of the shrines was occupied with about 30 praying players and the other uldahn shrine was empty.Though knowing Soken, he's probably just having us pray so we can hear that song play for us in the cities and be haunted...

That is what I figure, but I'm not sure just what yet.

I just got done praying at all 12 in order and nothing happened :( Thaliak one resonating loudly is the only thing i don't remember when i did the prayer quest

To further solidify this idea I noticed the last issue from The Raven, titled "United in Prayer"

I was just there to test whether the stone will have a different message every time I offered a prayer...
this needs to be a more co-ordinated effort as our individual prayers do not seem to be having any effect.

Anyone who's following this thread... I'd certainly want to try THIS now as well haha.

Actually there has been some degree of success.... some of us managed to pray the Bixies away... with Nael von Darnus sometimes yes sometimes no... so now most of the time we end up doing both and manage to kill off all the mobs thrown at us. Masamune only just got an army of Qiqirns and some high level elementals, guess we're a bit slower than some of the other servers.

is it always the same that resonates? maybe you have to pray to the one that's resonating, or only those from that diety have the power to pray

Or, we could look at it from a lore point of view, Garlean intelligence finds out that hundreds of people have been gathering at these stones, Garlemald believes they are needed for something, so they send some troops to guard them. That's entirely lore based and says we don't need to do anything more (unless you haven't done living on a prayer yet) Just trying to mess up our plans.
