Go to a favorite spot, any spot that you loved in 1.0. Screenshot and remember it.
After turning my music off and keeping my sound fx on, this bard played a very familiar song. It kind of made me sad. She is located in the Marauder's Guild lower level in Limsa. Take a moment to listen to her melody if you get the chance.

While I don't have a screenshot (I feel really foolish I don't know how to take a screenshot without the UI in the way) my spot is Pixie Falls in the Dark Shroud.
The Multi cascading waterfall for Byregot the Builder ^_^.
(if anyone has a picture of it it really is super pretty!)

I remember coming here with my friend when XIV had just released, Twilight over Thanalan playing. I was so happy back then, the game had flaws but I didn't care. We ended up sitting around the campfire just talking about the game, and it was awesome.

I went there today, and it has changed, Atomos is attacking everyone and it's kinda sad and lonely.

i'd like this more if i could, one of my favorite memories is joining for the first time and meeting my friend at blackbrush, we sat there and chatted for a bit before he had to go off and do stuff, but i was so excited to play.

That's why I draw my own. Marco's get old very fast. At least to me

It's all just recycled jokes, but a lot of people find amusment in that. There's not much you can do but let them have fun with them.

I know I am a special place, but you can't go there. I suggest hitting up the Mining Guild for that sort of action.

More seriously, I did not really have a specific special location this time around. There is enough actual memories to keep me, and knowing this world was going to go, I didn't attach myself that closely to any one locale.
