Please do not decrease the number of characters aalllowed in our name!

Dear Square,

Please do not decrease the number of characters allowed in our names. This will cause great problems for some. Hopefully this reduction is only for the alpha test.

How many characters in the name can be used in the Alpha?

iirc it's 10 in given name, 10 in surname for a total of 20, could be wrong though!

I can't remember where I read it now, but I believe you can have a maximum of 14 characters in either single part of your name, and an overall total of 20? I could be wrong, though.

I find 15 x 15 letters (max 20) better then the current 15 X 15 letters (max 30)

If I don't remember wrong, Yoshi said they would reduce the amount of letters in names, if they allow name change.
Is name change now confirmed?

no. they just said that if your name is too long already its staying that way regardless of the limit. read the thread.

It was not about this thread, but about a comment a long time ago (around the first or second live letter)

I know SE doesnt want to slap it's only payers but the ever growing lack of consistency between new and old is a little unnerving..

If you are changing the rules, please dont be afraid to change the rules for everyone not just the people who missed out on the old rules.

(in general statement, and no my name isnt over either limit - not that i care to make it any longer lol)

So my last name couldnt be Shadowheart if I end up changing?.........
