Alright, so before everyone jumps the gun and yells at me; I know this has been posted in other topics already. I know that any added hairstyles might not be in the character creation video because its only an alpha build (Video was great, btw ^.^).
But just in case, I wanted to make a dedicated topic to it so we can make sure that SE sees this and knows that we're adamant about wanting more hairstyles! Upvote this and show the Devs! It would be great to see someone from the Dev department post on this and let us know if anything is planned! :)

I am ok with current (and in Alpha VDO) number of hairstyles, but it would be great if each hairstyle has adjustable length of hair. Though the hairstyle choices in FFXIV is quite limited, I don't see my twins everywhere like in some other games. Happy with that, but getting to choose the hair length will be very nice to have.

I'd love to see an accurate conversion of FFXI's hume male ducktail hair cut, the one with the spikey combed up fringe. I feel like the mowhawk was meant to represent it but somehow became ... really different lol. Most of the male hyurs in xiv though, we all seem to use the same 2 hair styles, i tend to see them at least 3/5 times. Given the very limited preset colour swatches, a few subtley adjustable faces and no way to alter physical mass, i dont think any amount of face paints and scars are really gonna help make us look unique in comparison to other members of our race & gender. More hair would really help this.
I have a feeling however that for some of us right now, what we're seeing here (hair wise) is all we're getting, so im going through the motions of acceptance right now haha. I think SE will be far more concerned with getting the game running and dealing with the gameplay feedback than with hearing our pleas for more cosmetic options. However we may get more hair options later down the line if they do infact create barber shops!
As far as character creators go, I would say 10-15 each would be a great number. I feel you poor highlanders with like, 3? Even skyrims lizards have around 15 hairstyles and they dont even have hair! -

They have said for a very long time now that new hair styles would be available in 2.0. Thanks for making this topic. New hairstyles was something we were told was going to happen after the initial launch. After the change in dev direction and leadership we all settled for it's going to happen in months, to it's going to happen in 2.0.
Now we have alpha footage (hurray!! ^_^) and still we see no sign of new hairstyles. Many of us were unsatisfied with the small number of choices and so as ARR gets closer and closer we are getting antsy again.
I don't see how this is anyone acting spoiled when it's an issue that's been brought up 2 years ago, and we're not expecting 500 choices as some people like to exaggerate but certainly a bit more variety. The lalafells really got jipped as far as I'm concerned.
And no this is certainly not something that's unique to FFXIV, a solid character creation with a good amount of choice is the first impression anyone get of your MMO, if it leaves people unsatisfied they may wonder if they will get the same treatment with the rest of the game. I've seen it happen most recently in The Secret World.
So while the game should not be like City of Heroes and become a glorified custom character maker, it would be best if there were just a few more hairstyles. The current build of the CC is better then it was in all the right ways, but if you want people to be over the moon just add two or three more hairs per race, or two for most and 3-4 for the Lalas. -

With Aion there is no limitation (which is good in a way) but making it so you make your character looking like a green bean or a Killed pig, just is o.o.
Everything else is fine, lots of hair styles, lots of colors to make the eyes/hair/lips etc. I love all those. Aion is better than 1.0 CC, Can;t say about 2.0 because the full version isn't out yet, but if your asking me how it stands right now, Aion has a better CC. -
