The one thing I REALLY cant wait to see....

is what they do with the party recruit feature. as it stands, STILL only a handful of non-JP know how to or care to use it. Dunno which one it really is, but hearing shouts, sending tells, and typing in the command every tell gets anoying when theres a really easy to use and nifty feature in place...

People are stupid and requires step by step guide along with videos accompanied with annotations to teach them this feature. You'd be surprised how many people don't know how to use it and how much it has evolved JP community in terms of PUGing.

I suspect it is stubbornness more than anything else. Even telling people to use it to join my party, they will still send me tells for an invite.

i think its because people like wasting hours a day shouting in ul'dah then to put there seeking party up with comment.

worked like a charm in FFXI even if you didnt want to party up.

Well, shouting more than once is ok really, just to get people to know you have a recruitment open, but I'm really tired of typing in /pcmd add Verystrange Namehere all the time. And there are some very strange names..

I really dont think people can be THAT stubborn either. The JP players have been using it since there were 15 player parties, proven its super easy to get things together with. It could use more than 4 job request options, but it still works quite well.

The one thing i think about when it comes to this is JP smarter than Other......

they need to add a channel for everyone. take swtor, you have to literally go to the town and sit there to make your party or try and find a party. and if it takes awhile to do it would be nice that you can still keep doing stuff in game while doing so. i hated having to run back to city to do so when i was happily questing away.

also as for the old ffxi style only thing that was missing was a way to look for game on other classes that your not on at moment. hit look for game for and then click any classes you want to still level and there levels would be perfect. so that way i can go solo on my BLM but still be lfg on my rank 30lnc and my 45war and also have a lfg for quest for whm body.

let's be honest here, this game doesn't guide players very well in using any features, but they are changing that in 2.0

Tho this is true, JP have gotten it for 2 years now. They could stand to add some step-by-step instruction like chardizard said for those who need it, both on the lodestone (or whatever the new site will be) and in-game, but it is really easy to use. I've been using it since 15player parties too, and I still see only JP using it, rarely others.

I guess SE figured it would be easy to use as well since all they have in the lodestone is http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com...de/comm02.html

I'm just hoping they do something with it to make it easier to learn to use, or to make the stubborn people want to use it more - whichever it is for the individual.

I believe they've said the beginner tutorial quests will go over UI features including making parties and such, so it should be ok once people get it explained to them. The menu just has a lot of stuff and is fairly intimidating, not to mention most of the stuff in it doesn't make any sense. For example, Purpose: none really means "any".

I forsee people using the cross-server content finder moreso than anything in ARR. I'm sure some people would rather stick to playing with people from their own server, but the content finder throws you into a larger pool of people so you're not waiting around quite as long to get something accomplished.

But now people will need to learn how to use the cross server content finder. Wonder how long THAT will take . . . Probably not long if they make it just like WoW...

That's laziness more than anything. SE can tell you, show you and reward you on how to do everything and you'll still get this.
