Crystals Skills

hi.. i'm not sure if someone had a similar idea yet but what i was thinking is ..
Do you think that if we had items property that allow us to absorb an element and if using for example shard // crystals // Clusters being break against ourselve, your oponent or and your allies using MP would be overrated in a fight?
well what i was thinking about is a low powered magic using crystals, MP or and TP im not really sure how to describe the mathematical value in PvP

that remind me that Discipline of Magic had a resistance value to be allocated during beta

im still not sure what i saw but i remember seing points to be allocated for something related to elements lol

*bump a bump* maybe i should describe the fact that mages doesnt use TP so therefore the usage of crystals as magic should require more MP than DoW and no TP, therefor DoW would use both MP and TP and would be usefuls for Jobs...? *roll eyes*
from what i know .... DoW can use cure
jobs of DoM wouldnt go on using melee... but WHM have access to GLD skills.. that weird isnt it?
but Jobs of DoW doesnt have anything to use MP.. thats pretty much weird..since its a stat.. i mean ...*sigh* i don't think i can go on trying to think about PVP anymore than that
of course theres still PLD that use MP.. but beside that it remain useless

also maybe DoW should only be able to use the magic crystals in close range rather than DoM in long range

*last bump seriously =S...... o.o';* also maybe if DoM would use it in close range that would be reduced DMG
vice versa with DoW if they use it at long range that would be reduced DMG

You used to be able to assign points to elemental affinity, which is what I am assuming you mean in your edits

yes i was playing beta as conjurer

i also thought while taking a nap that maybe there should be an exception for archers
even at this point.. an archer maybe should use medium amount of TP and MP

PS: i do really care too about **affinity that have been removed and battle being a "little" redundant
im not sure if theres was magic def at beta

also im not even sure what's on 2.0 so what i've wrote in that post can be stated as precautious suggestion or rather stupid.....lol

i tought too that maybe emnity should be more based on the team work of the party rather then that stat
likely if a bunch of DoW just exclusivly heal each other in fight that would lead to stability
also adding such magical feature would lead DoM to emphase the elemental weakness and their weakness( i was thinking maybe a an AoE based on only one sort of crystal.. im not sure yet how to describe that yet)(i also thought that would lead to eminent stupidity in a fight in some sort of way where theres no way to prevent DoM to do too much damage than what people can absord\\\\like a sacrifice)

also that would lead skills that use emnity to recover MP

that remind me i saw a fight with garuda on live stream yesterday where the tank main ability was pressing "1" constantly and using flat blade *roll eyes*

also theres not enough of daggers..
the liminsan dagger wich is lvl 50 got a delay of 2.4
therefor you would need 60 attack to have a bonus of 250 in the end wich is 144 seconds
in comparaison of sword wich get 1000 tp every 10 seconds with a delay of 2.5
maybe a cooldown of 60 seconds would be good to cast the crystal

also another example an ifrit battle can last 15 minutes therfore if the mp cost would be like cure +250 tp for DoW
a GLD would be able to cast it around 15 time exactly cuz it got 1518 + no allocation into piety

+ i sugest maybe it would be boosted from magic potency when used against a monster
and healing when casted on himself or allies

i think thats all.. im pretty much sure it sound complete as an explanation... i was trying to write it on the fly.. i didnt make any preparation thats why i keep posting.. lol

i came up with another simple calculation when you would try to cast the crystal to someone in your party

**edit that was BS i was sleepy lol

so let say a BLM with high magic potency would try to cast a crystal on a paladin that would fail(but cause a buff)
but if a BLM would cast the crystal on a WHM that wouldnt fail because of the WHM healing potency(well if it had absord property)

i also think that the absord property should be 2 time more high than Heavens' Fist Materia IV attack power
and meldable on all meldable items so in the end that can be high as 420(6x60)

so infact if a PLD cast a crystal on another PLD that would probly never cause damage beside if it has no absord property..

and im not sure if the size of the crystal should modify an amount

you bumped your own thread 6 times in a matter of hours, that has got to be a record. Anyway, i wish i could just equip my crystal and throw them since i have to many.

make sense.. but i think they said they were going to remove throwable item.. anyway it would be a skill but the thing is if a PLD would kite + throw crystals(well from what i think its a strong item) that would be an abuse generally(but i thought that if its throw from a long distance it would have low damage)
so i also thought that DoM have no such power to crush a crystal against nearby enemy

hmm i think there should be a casting time.. too since it use MP
but maybe it should be instant on DoW and not on DoM
maybe 1 second cast on DoM?
cuz anyway in a fight i dont think a PLD use aero.. *rolleyes* lol

hmm... let say as Dicipline of War you wouldnt have to deal with emnity or boosting defence(reference to another thread) to draw the aggresivity of monsters
would you judge normal to use healing or magical attacks instead

i think you've had too many energy drinks mister!

i reworked thing around where i think damage would be done crystal damage cant be absorbed by players
i think in an MMO that would be plainly weird to just say : "yeah let put teamkill"
so therfore
if there would be extra damage from a specific element to yourself from another player that would add a small buff
what i tought is: DMG + Buff so infact that would be a sacrifice but add a buff

Ice : Magic Evasion
Wind : Atk Speed for X seconds or Atk Speed for X number of attacks(maybe just TP regen???)
Fire : Magic Potency for X number of attacks or Magic Potency for X seconds
Water : MP Regen for X seconds or Instant
Lightning : Attack Power for X seconds or Atk Power for X number of attacks
Earth : Phys Def for X seconds or Phys Def for X amount of times

therefor if a player can absord the amount damage dealed by the crystal skill
no buff is added

oh just so to justify the change above is like an - emnity so infact that would involve players using tactics of course thats something have seen in battle where WHM useally use AoE heal for apparent reason to keep players alive during boss battles
even if everyone doesnt need HP

but i must clarify that if YOU GUYS think that the Crystal Skill should only be used by JOBS ... i think that would be normal
cuz i dont think that would make sense to allow a GLD to have more attack but it would be normal to have more healing
so i think flash should blind more and flat blade to add MP instead( so it would mean that it would focus more on survival just like their armor was meant to be)
also Marauder cant use MP so i tought provoke would decrease defence
and chameleon to increase evasion

so the party is most likely to become bind on their JOBS so infact in PVP jobs would be meant for support just like for example bard and so on
