What is this?

I don't know if this was shown before on the forums, but I came upon this when doing a Leve just now. What is it?

Thats definitely interesting no idea what it is but cool nonetheless where did you see it at?

I've seen something like that somewhere in a cave in Gridinia area. No clue what it is either.

There is a grid quest that takes you there... But I can't remember anything about it ><

That's Amberscale Rock, in the Shroud. As far as I know, it's one of many unexplained bits of scenery.

ITs part of the WHM quest, i think. a few other storyline quests take you there and you use echo but i dont remember if it was ever a creature that got turned into the statue or not. It sure looks like it though.

its a rock when touched teleports you back to vana diel!

Think you guys are thinking of Cnj30 quest "Good Knight, Sweet Dreams".

It was in the Black Shroud. I can't remember the coordinates. I was doing a leve with the hunting vests at Humblehearth and the NPC enemies spawned in that cave where that Amberscale Rock is at. I just saw it along with a Wind Elemental in the cave and I didn't know what it was.

It's a dragon that's been transformed by the elementals, I imagine.

My first guess until reading that it's part of whm quests (I don't even remember it) was that it's a chunk of Dalamund.

It's a conjurer quest

its always been there just dont remember why

this is right it's part of the conj guild quests for the con story line one of the injured dragoons thought it was a dragon but it really isn't

You'll come across this in one of the guild quest. I don't remember which guild, it's been a while.

It looks like some kind of creature to me, maybe a wombat or soemthing.

Sorry bout that. was going from memory. I knew it had to do with my main class at the time which was a healer. i was just theorizing about the creature thing cause of the shape.

It was touched on briefly in a quest but never fully explained. The 'mole rocks' and the big ruins in Grid were never even touched on, much less explained. Chances are they'll be gone from ARR and we may never know what they were supposed to be for.

If I recall there were some Elementals that came out of it and attacked during the quest.

It's a dragon.

I had my game on and I was doing the Leve, so I quickly made this thread. I didn't have time to explain everything because of the time limit, and that my laptop was also getting hot from playing the game for an hour.

its for one of WHM quests

I believe it was involved in a couple quests since I can remember two different instances when you use The Echo around it.

The first (this is the quest I can't remember) is when you see a flashback of a knight who is unconscious and stranded. He sees the statue as a dragon and he's running away from it as it seems to be spewing fire at him. This was probably actually the elementals that reside in the area casting magic at him while generating some illusion of the stone being a real dragon.

The second is involved in the CNJ series of class quests when you learn that the conjurer, Brother Morys, is actually a wildling. He feels this calling to get back to Ishgard (where he's apparently from) but the elementals' hold on him keeps him from leaving the Twelvewood. A flashback shows him as a child huddled up near the rock while a pack of wolves descend upon him and you save him.

Looks like a chupathingy to me.

Actually I remember those quests, but only slightly. It's been awhile since I went around this area, especially in that little cave, so I may have forgotten all about this artifact.
