I agree Shal!
Although, if they were to change PL'in to the method used in 11 I wouldn't be bothered too much...........
lol this again
i think its ok till e certain extent. like level 20 or so. But not till 50.
There will be level 50 Arcanist by the end of the first week, probably within 48 hours.
how will people get frustrated and complain about PUG's then?
Power leveling is bad coz it does not make the user understand how to play their job well. (there are exceptions but I think it's few)
The 30 hour quote was the expected length of time for a new player to work their way through the tutorial(s), not how long it would take to reach level 50.
it was how long it would take for a player to get to 50 by following the storyline quests, please, do watch the last letter one more time. (if it took 30 hours of playtime to play through a tutorial in a casual game, how many customers would se lose? many more than they already have xD)
Ah, well the only 30-hour quote I was aware of was this one:
Nothing mentioning 30 hours in the latest official translated live letter synopsis, so /shrug. I don't speak Japanese, so that's all I have to go off of.Quote:
For myself I am thinking of level 15 as an ideal level for setting up a party and trying out a dungeon. If you don’t sidetrack to get to that point probably would take about 30 hours.

one of these two, dont remember which, and watching them to search for proof is something i wont do, in that case id rather have you not believe me :P but leveling in arr is supposed to be pretty fast, yoshi says this is because most of the content will be end-game, such as primals, dungeons, crystal tower, golden soucer, chocobo breeding etc.
btw, that 4gamer interview is old :P i guess it has changed since then, but these articles is from september, so i guess they are more right ^^
Ahh, probably from the first video, I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the link!
agreed and +1'd
While I don't endorse power-levelling, petitioning it's removal/illegality is trite and plain useless. The only people on Ridill I've seen make a huge fuss about it are the ones that don't have people to do it for them.
Just suck it up and move on, it's not going anywhere and is hardly harmful to the game. If someone sucks due to getting PL'd, they won't gain much in the way of successful parties at 50 anyways. It's pretty easy to tell who's a moron/leecher just from speaking with them.
They dont need to and probably wont do anything of the sort. Yoshida allowed PL method because he felt it is players choice if they want to help another player advance in level faster by using his/her own time and already higher level to do so.
This is a fight with most MMO games. It's best to just ignore it. Someone will always find another way.
They said that level up the way we are now with mob camping and stuff wont work very will in 2.0 so that mean pl is out the window you have to level up by quest and dungeon. Not if they allow high level to run a low level in a dungeon and they gain the exp like in wow but don't see that happening.
so without limiting all content to only 8 people (16 if they readd alliances). How do you per pose to stop pling? Stop outside healing hurts big raid ls imo. stop outside damage? sure they can stop the higher level dropping from pt to kill the mobs, but still a whm outside pt can still heal. im not against pling. Every MMO has some for of pling, the only way i see them getting rid of pling is but getting rid of Partying all together.
