I hope so, as I would like to obtain some, but did not wish to do a bazillion speed runs.
Same here, I'm not hard core anymore and seeing people who pretty much live in Eorzea reap all the goodies kind of makes me feel like my effort is worthless.
If the level cap is going to stay the same for more than six months after the release, I'd say all the end-game gear should still be obtainable simply because it will continue to be some of the best gear for the level. However, if the level cap is going to increase within the first few months of release, the gear shouldn't drop anymore because it will be outdated soon enough and will be more of vanity items of people who played before ARR.
I hope that they keep at least some of the current endgame gear exclusive to 1.0. I was actually kinda let down when I heard that primal weps are still going to drop.
Darklight gear may still be there, but they said speed runs will only be for achievements, so it will be obtained some other way.
It's not like Darkhold, AV, or Cutter's is going anywhere. So it's safe to assume you can get Darklight in 2.0
Going to be useless gear shortly after anyways though.
Why shouldn't it? AV and CC are still in ARR.
It's almost sure DL equips will remain. It's higly unlucky they decide to "throw away" graphic models just because "out of date"... Is as much sure that it will be different the way you'll get those equips. :D
Howdy!
Except for a few specific items, the items that you can obtain in the current version of the game will be available in A Realm Reborn. Just like primal weapons, have no fear if you haven’t snagged that sweet Darklight armor yet! There will be a chance in A Realm Reborn to obtain it. :)
However, since the game is changing quite drastically, the methods for obtaining these items may not be exactly the same as they are now.
Darklight is basically unobtainable at this rate in version 1.0 anyway
Well, that's nice.. I just hope the Mercenary's Acton/set isn't one of those very few things being removed, because I've always wanted that yet it seems effectively impossible to get as-is >.>
so true. I wonder if they will have the last weekend before the game closes, have and increase drop rate event
yeah i said it
We will soon enough be releasing information on topics for what gear will be obtainable/not obtainable in A Realm Reborn, so sit tight and it should answer all of your questions! After the announcement is released, if there are any further questions please let us know :)
I swear hamlet having random drops makes absolutely no sense, the event fits a point based system to T.
Beat the run, get the score and then the score translates into hamlet tokens that you buy Militia gear with, that was what I and all of my friends thought it was going to be until it was released and caught us by surprise. I mean, damn it feels blasphemous that they didn't.
Yeah, I hope they understand that we'd rather have an incomplete list now than a 100% final list in two weeks. We're reaching the point where normal people with school/work/lives aren't going to have time to obtain these items if they really want them.
I don't even mind if they have stuff they're thinking about and then take off the list in the future. Even if I rush to get it and they decide it'll be in 2.0, I still have the item.
"Soon"

Also applies to flood.
It will still be here, i rmbr reading an official post on it, only thing is the way you achieve it will be different than it is now. maybe easier? lol
In said post, it states "Items obtained through events associated with the coming of the Seventh Umbral Era, such as over-aspected clusters". I wouldn't consider "The Raven, Nevermore" to be an event. Nor is the reward an achievement reward. Does that mean White Ravens will be obtainable in ARR? Of course, the methods to obtaining them may change. :)
I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't obtainable (maybe "event" has a broader scope, and includes quests such as this one?), but the post doesn't seem to call them out, either implicitly or explicitly, so thought I'd ask for verification!
