The bots have learned to use one of the characters to lure the elementals away from the groups at the Node. On my server, the elementals are being lured far away. I got KOed twice trying to go back to Cedarwood just to see the elementals slaughter the bots.

EDIT: I'm just at Cedarwood and I have not seen any elementals at all. There are none coming from Bloodshore and none around the Node. How odd!!
