Anybody going to TGS this week-end?

"Final Fantasy XIV’s TGS 2012 trailer is here bright and early in time for the first business day of the show.

Though not too much in the way of newness, we can only assume the in-game footage comes from the PlayStation 3 version of the game. Of course, this is simply a guess based on the way the graphics look and Yoshida’s previous comments of the console version making its debut at TGS this year.

A full reveal for the PS3 version is expected next month."

There's something weird... yes, there seem to be lag in the video, mostly during gameplay, but there seem to be a little too (but less) in the CG parts.

Was going to say, not sure if it's a recording problem or something, but there is very noticeable amount of lag during the actual game play. Just watched it a few minutes ago, and kinda cringed when the chocobos are running and the camera stutters a bit, even more so during the combat. *Shrug*

With the in game footage. It almost looks like the person in charge of the capture just plain old captured it with the wrong fps setting.

Yeah, same here. I hope there are something we should know about this video that we don't.

SOmething like "This is what the game will look like on PS3, but it's not fully optimized yet, so you will notice some lag in the video".

*fingers crossed*

Edit : But we don't know if it's really the PS3 version... so yes, we are lacking some info.

Edit2 : Video is up on the official YouTube channel too without any details.

How can you capture video that crappy and not go back to recapture it in the way you did with the last trailer? Really?

Thought it might've been PS3 footage. I'm gonna cross my fingers and put the stutters up to just bad video editing, it'll be terrible if the PS3 version was that bad.

Regardless, this trailer was still quite exciting :D The music got me pumped up xD

I bet you 9 times out of ten that this is the PS3 Version. ( in which case I'll let it slide with the laginess of it all, since its still a bit below pre-Alpha state.)

Hopefully they'll fix the trailer or explain it lol I doubt they will really leave something this bad up >.<

Other than the previously released footage of the forest I think the environments look really bland and boring :(
Not the quality I'm used to from FF games.

Not to mention, at the Sony's Press Conference They did SHow FFXIV: ARR only for a brief few seconds, which seems to be an indicator that this trailer is PS3 Based.

What did we tell you about Kotaku?! They are always bad mouthing FF in General, they aren't really a reliable source! :P

Lol reliable and source are both terms I would not use to describe Kotaku, let alone using them together. :x

It seems like this trailer was only meant for people who are keeping up with XIV and not really to impress the people at TGS; so that we could get a glimpse of the PS3 version. I enjoy playing XIV and I'm looking forward to 2.0, but I'm surprised they would release such a low quality trailer like that.

If it is the PS3, they still have A lot of Optimizing to do with it, which is why, it would like like that even in high rez. That could also explain why it was laggy at certain parts of the Trailer. They said they plan to do a Full Reveal of the PS3 Version come Mid-October, which this could very well be a teaser to that.

I'm 95% sure this Trailer is from the PS3 Version.

wow, really guys?? OMG IT LAGS SO HORRIBLE AGHHH THE END OF THE WORLD SO CHOPPY UGHHH RAAAAGGGEE... why is it that every one wants more and more and more for thier graphics.. I noticed 2 slight lag/glitch effect that were hardly noticeable. The enviroment looks like crap?? wtf, it looks fine to me. Why is nobody mentioning how much sweeter the gear looks on our characters now, everybody is just nit picking about small BS, and not even savoring the good stuff. what happened to the days of fun content and hours of endless play before graphics. Kids these days don't know anything about games , if it doesnt look good it's shit..what kind of theory is this


also, judging by all the playstation trademarks and logos at the end after saying coming soon.. I would guess this is the ps3 version.. the pc icon was off hiding in the corner n stuffs lol

There's definitely something different about it, quality wise. The lighting looks very stark and the colors look very washed out. The shadows are harsh.

Just to make sure I wasn't imagining things, I went back and looked at previous screenshots SE has released and, sure enough, the lighting in those shots is much better, the colors are more lush and saturated and not washed-out looking.

So yeah, I'd guess it's either the PS3 version, or it's running on lowered settings.

Well, Just showing it off at High Rez, then when people play it on their Crappy PCs or PS3, they would think they got ripped off, in a way its the right move to do to show that off to the public. However, there still a lot of Optimizing to be done with the PS3 Version of the game, so I'm putting my money on that this is more than likely the PS3 Version;

Also why would you assume that there is nothing saying that on the video.
Also why would that make it "ok"? Is everybody here a pc player not interested in what the ps3 game will look like?

I dunno. I'd rather wait for SE to announce ps3 footage themselves rather than jump to conclusions.

By the amount of rage everyone had in the other thread, I was expecting far worse. Really guys? It wasn't really that bad. The game is barely Alpha, yet. (inb4 "Hurrrdurr Remeber release?" We aren't dealing with the same people.)

Look at the Previous Screenshots/Gameplay on the PC, Compare that to this trailer... Graphics are def. dumbed down a lot from the PC Gameplay and Screeshots. There's only two Answers and one of them is right.. its either running on the lowest possible settings or its the PS3 Version of the game that's barely in Pre-Alpha.

Perhaps, but my point was that it actually *can* or at least *does* look better than in the video lol. That threw me off 'cause it looked so different from those shots they released.

theres a new ps3 platform available on the 25th, just a shot in the dark there after thinking about your marketing scheme comment.

I didn't think it was even that bad, and the music was really cool.

If that's the PS3 version then I'm happy. (and it seems to be seeing as previous videos have a far higher quality to the textures)

As much of a happy Go lucky person that I am, I can say its noticeable the lag/glitch. but aside that the "Areas" in General look amazing and can not wait to dive into them!
