It has been confirmed that it will not have other purpose in 2.0?
So we can trade it now for 25k GC seal safely :P ?
Thank you!

I'm with you... I'd love to know that there's a little hint out there that those who didn't just walk out of their grand company a hero and immediately sell their memorabilia of REFORGING THE EORZEAN ALLIANCE on the black market might see a perk for their honor...
But on the other hand, if there was, and they didn't tell us, wouldn't it be such a huge middle finger when that GOTCHA moment hit. Ohhh, I'd relish it.
just do it
How is it possible to trade it?
yea would like to know too....ppl keep saying why not trade it in now.....but capped seals and nothing in particular wanting to exchange, so if I can save it for later that would be much better than trying to have to use it
If they decide to use it for something important, they'll never hear the end of it (and rightly so!).
I highly doubt you have anything to worry about. I traded it in as soon as I got it.
Traded mine in. Brought my grid officer set. Never looked back. Well worth it imo
I would like to know as well. If no other use for later, it would free up an inventory slot lol
let's see if Bayohne e co. will tell us something regarding this :P
I kept mine as I still think it will have a display purpose.
While we're at it, hold on to your old primal weapons, never spend gil and don't leave your inn room. You will surely be rewarded.
Bump for mod attention! Pretty sure it's just for seals, but the paranoia sure is annoying.
It's only good for the 25,000 seals via black market trading.
Because unlike all the other useless crap that this game has had (such as the beastmen currency for a long time), the coin actually had a use when it was implemented. Its most likely this way so you don't get a ton of surprise seals dumped on you if you are full or have nothing to spend it on and would otherwise lose out on 25k.
there are two kinds of people in the world. those who used the commemorative coin right away without question. and those who are still holding onto it and bugging the developers about it.
Suppose you drop the 25k while sitting at the chief sergeant cap of 45k. You then have 20/45. Since the total reward for the second lieutenant quest (reward + coin value) is 30k, and the lieutenant cap is 50k, any seals you earn between accepting the quest and receiving the 30k you effectively earn from it would be lost if they didn't put 25k of the reward into a coin.
1. Chief Sergeant cap (45/45)
2. Pay 25k (20/45)
3. Do a perfect caravan run. (21/45)
4. Earn Second Lieutenant...4a. coin not implemented (51/50, 1k lost)
4b. coin implemented (26/50 + coin)
I dont think you can LOSE anything because they just wont take the quest
An LS mate just yesterday tried getting a promotion while with full seals. They couldn't in the end, because they couldn't receive the 5k seals that are a free reward from the event....they ended up having to use up 5k seals to be able to get promoted.
Not sure if this is the type of check you meant, but there you have it.
Maybe, but thanks for the additional info. A valid test we'd be most likely to find is someone with capped seals who hasn't finished an optional quest with a small reward, so most of the GC sidequests would qualify. Let them see if it will allow them to turn in.
last bump before i go to sleep, hoping in a dev answer ;) !
I would like an answer on this if possible :)
