The End is Near!
Yea same, mine at October 2nd
Yay for free month
I'm a bit confused. My end date was on right on September 29th. That page says any end dates before the 29th get billed again, but any end dates after the 30th won't be billed...
So what happens to the people whose end dates fall on the 29th or 30th? o_o
Ya, I am safe with a Oct 1 date, but before I check my date I was reading that and got very confused because some of the wording is pretty confusing. Like for your example, does that mean you don't get a free month and have to pay for a whole month because your renew date is on the cutoff day. What about those that have their renewal on the 28th? I know it mentioned something about if your characters are on Continuous status you are okay, but that still raises concerns of will those unlucky few that have a renewal date 27-29 not get the free month?
Most players who payed without a rest should have it at the beginning of october.
And it fit the dates for the legacy campaign:
until 5/31 for new players with free month = end of may + 4 month = end of september
until 6/30 for players who start to pay for the first time = end of juni + 3 month = end of september
Agreed Luckily my Bill Date is on the 4th or 5th or something, but it would be really nice if Square could find a way to prorate billing somehow. Even if they could just prorate your first month so that if you join on say the 15th it bills for 15 days then after that you billing happens on the 1st of the month to sync everyone up.
My payment is the 20th ):
While it doesn't impact me, it hardly seems free if players have to pay for another month because their bill date is on the 29th instead of the 30th.
But, I guess the cut off has to start somewhere.
Well it don't steal 29 days , you get them with ARR .

Below didnt take the above link into consideration. Thanks to Lololink.
Just like I said in another post, this F2P month info was directly following the talk about bringing the servers back up after novemeber 11th.
I dont think October is free.

Playing the current FINAL FANTASY XIV until the end of service
don't worry you will have the 29 extra days for ARR but i hope that they add an option so if you don't play the game at launch you don't lose the days .
don't know if they said it or no but it wouldn't be logic at all , you paid for 30 days , you have 30 days .
The text and illustration clearly shows that if your current end date is 1 Oct or later you will not be billed for Oct thereby making it free. Nov makes no difference because nothing will be saved after the 1st and the servers shut down on the 11th and as a previous poster noted it is a lot easier to make it free then to try to pro rate it.
This isn't about the free trial. We want to know whether the extra few days we'd have to pay for to be subscribed during the cut off for October will carry over to 2.0.
For example, if I have to pay a whole month's subscription on the 29th, then October wouldn't be "free" because I'm basically ending up paying for that entire month. What I want to know is whether or not those 29 extra days I paid for would carry over into 2.0.
Obviously they're not obligated to carry over anyone's extra days, but it'll definitely be the deciding factor for whether or not I renew my subscription before 2.0 launches.
Sorry for my misunderstanding. If I read the post correctly SE will procede with normal billing up to 23:59:59 on 29 Sept. If you have a billing date prior to that then you will fall under normal billing. This appears to be more of an administrative procedure, not a boon to current subscribers, as SE was probably required to provide their billing partners a firm shutdown date so that they will not accidently bill after a certain date. I assume the date was purely arbitrary.
