Now that we know the servers are ending on November 1s/11th does that mean people who need one more month get it?
From reading his letter it appears his comment about September 30th and getting free play was applied to after the server save goes down on the first of November and the possible revive of the servers after that -just for fun.
Unless the order in which he states information - it appears October is a pay for month. And that those who have two months paid will have their legacy in October.

Yes Legacy payment plan - I wasn't aware of anything else legacy like in FFXIV..
You need 3 months paid to make legacy - at any point in 2012 before beta starts. To be guaranteed legacy you had to get that 90 day plan but that wasn't the cut off of legacy that was the cut off of 90 day plan. The cut off for legacy is on the legacy main page on lodestone; which says before beta begins (not alpha).
What i was asking is, does it appear October is a pay for month or not? From my reading it does, but maybe its just bad translation order or something. He mentions free time, but he mentions that right after talking about 10 days of no character saves and the possibility of bringing in a few more months of no character save just to keep the community together - So i felt this didnt relate to October (in which characters are still being saved). -

The official deadline has always been before 2.0 beta -starts-, which from their 2.0 pdf they released (a long time ago) was going to start around late October. Recently some reps talked about may 31st as being a guaranteed legacy.
So.. Not sure why you wouldn't feel special - this is all within the "special period" still. Unless you just dont want anyone else to have what you have.. kinda selfish - being selfish because the time period is still allowed and yet you dont want people to be allowed. -

And its not your place to judge who can come in or not, its not a quick grab for a discount if they allow it - which "their" (SE) requirements for legacy indeed do. Anybody who supports the game for 3 months before beta, that's their requirement.

I was under the impression that the 'free month' was simply another 'free trial' for us legacy members when ARR is launched. If that's the case, October will be like any other month.
The 90 day subscription, i assumed, was ended just in time where people paid months wouldn't overlap into the down time. I think everybody is paying by the month now. So you either have it or you don't by beta. -

We shall see this month. I started in June and signed up for the 90 day plan thinking i could get legacy, then SE posted that you had to have registered your game by may 31st 2012 to get it so i was bummed, then they cancelled the 90 day plan before my billing cycle came around so i thought that put the nail in the coffin for legacy status for me.
With all of the recent date announcements etc i'm getting a glimmer of hope again, in about 2 weeks my 3rd payment will happen and i'll see if i get the legacy status notification. -

If your first monthly payment started after May 31st, you will not be able to obtain Legacy. I do realize that they also stated that it was before the 2.0 beta, but the announcement about May 31st was announced afterwards, and has not changed since.Quote:

I'm curious to this as well.. started playing again in early Aug. so I would need Oct. as a pay month but i did play from start Sept. 2010 (was a beta tester as well) til Jan. of 2012... they did, however, allow me the Legacy payment plan

Yeah I've started playing since October 1, 2010, but my computer died but I paid like 1 month before that happened, I already paid a month for August but what I got is that I can still get Legacy after this month goes by for September.

In my opinion, the only people who should be getting legacy are those of us who have been paying an active subscription since the beginning of pay for play. We are the only true legacy players. Everyone else is just a fly by night band wagoner who really don't deserve the perk since they didn't suffer through like we did.

So my 15 months of time + beta time wouldnt count for you cause i quit for about 7 months... i still say what i did when the game came out.. if they give perks it should only go to beta testers and those that played the first 12 months of release before all the major changes .. we are the ones that suffered

lol its funny how a lot of this turned into people trying to shut others down about legacy - usually with insufficient information >.<. I've googled the crap out of this subject, lol and talked to SE themselves >.>.
I had no question on whether legacy is still possible to get, I know for a fact it is.
Just wanted to know what others thought about the new information of servers will be closing on November 11th; Beta will not start till servers close. And what people thought of October, as a pay for month or not. As from old information October was not a month available to play, and with the new information it appears everyone looking for legacy just got one more month to work with.
As a few have said here, I think next month will have to be your third month.
Opinion:
I think SE should offer legacy to anyone under certain conditions like those who payed for three months before 2.0 (These are current SE conditions). However I also believe anyone in 2.0 should be able to get it (or something similar) by paying like a year or two. I say this because what the legacy plan is saying is "I value you as a customer", they should value all their customers - while obviously the ones that helped them make 2.0 get preference. -

While they did write their statement weird its not exactly the last point you can ever get legacy - it was the guide on how to be sure to get legacy (and this is what the customer service told me when I talked to them). Their lodestone page has always said before beta started - and the beta date / server shutdown was never finalized until recently.
