Try not using beta drivers? or even archived drivers that have a history of decent compatability?

oof, sorry, just read up on your card... you can still try earlier drivers just to see if they are more stable, but given how niche ffxiv is right now your videocard just may not ever run it well until 2.0 comes out.
Nvidia updated their profile settings for FFXIV with latest drivers. Those of us with high end Nvidia cards have flocked to the new drivers in the hopes that this would finally solve the constant crash issues, since both SE and Nvidia are so tight lipped on the problem.
The new profile doesn't fix a damn thing.
It's been two years and simply put, the issue is never going to be resolved. There's just nothing in it for either company, and SE is probably going to move onto an entirely new game engine before Nvidia even figures out how to recreate the issue. Sorry to be so doom and gloom about it but I've literally had to stop playing the game because its so frequent now, and pre-realm reborn is when I need to get my time in the most.
Just read the notes on the beta driver, they updated the SLI profiles for FF14. No mention of tweaking for compatibility or optimization on single card profiles. Are you running your video cards in SLI?
I am actually doing better on that driver, the 305's had me crashing left and right. But, this card being brand new, we pretty much have to just deal with it and wait until they come out with better drivers. Like someone said above, if the new drivers are really the problem, just switch to the older ones until a new driver comes out.
what's a good version that works? didnt have this problem when i was on my gtx460.
I recently got a gtx 680 and an ssd and decided to give this another go before 2.0 comes out. To my horror I discovered that I cannot be inside a city without my card crashing every 5 minutes. It's disgusting. My gtx 470 NEVER gave me this many problems.
Please help!! I crash over and over again during Aleport Hamlet. It's not every 5 min, it's EVERY 30 seconds. All my settings are on LOW. This has been happening for the past 2 months.
I'm facing the same problem with my gtx670

I usually crash when i AFK inside city
its Lame that we crash with this powerful cards and lowering our setting >_<
Mine is not DirectX issue. It's the ffxivgame itself APPCRASHing. I'm currently copying over the .dat files from another computer to see if maybe I had a corrupted file. It's been 6 LONG hours so far...
NVM that didnt solve anything
With my GTX 680, I'm crashing in every towns, only towns and cutscene, only workaround: disable Depth of Field...
6 month with this bug, it's about time to fix it, even before ARR...
306.23 WHQL released on NVIDIA official site.
306.23 Drivers seemed to have fixed the Depth of Field problem. Awesome work nVidia!
I upgraded to nvidia's #D system recently, and had directx crashes every other day. I've disabled the 3d feature but now I get random crashes daily.
Driver version is 301.42. Should I roll back to an earlier version and just forget about 3D ?
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit (Service Pack 1)
DirectX version: 11.0
GPU processor: GeForce GTX 550 Ti
Driver version: 301.42
DirectX support: 11.1
I'll check for a new driver now.
newest driver installed
running in windowed mode
no crashes for 2 days so far
haven't enabled 3D again yet will try later
Thank you
I've been having the same problem in both FFXI and FFXIV since I switched to a GTX660ti.
Initially I thought it was a bad card but after numerous burn ins and using different software, playing movies, reading the forums and in general having no other issues with the card I can only conclude it's a driver issue, quite possibly caused by the new Kepler architecture.
I have a gtx550 and it runs both games just fine the 550 also uses the Fermi Architecture, which when it was first released also had issues with FF, the only thing we can do is continue to submit complaints to Nvidia and SE in hopes it moves our problem moves up on their priority list and they address the issue sooner rather than later by amending the driver software.
Until then my xiv will continue to look terrible on my gtx550 and my xi will continue to run on it too...
My guess it is just do to the fact that FFXIV is an unoptimized piece of shit. It just runs badly; that being said I have high hopes that ARR will have been optimized better.
