SP loss end of story, GIL is worthless, Repairing is just as easy as throwing away gil. Just make us lose SP upon death I even welcome back d-leveling then if you got into a fight you were not ready for you had no option but to run(that's what flee was for). This would also welcome more people to party. Scared of dying you need a tank, healer, ect.. you want to be prepared rather than ''winging it''. I don't want gear damage for dying, that will happen regardless if I die or not. But losing my SP? that is something to fear. thoughts?

Problem yoshi-p does not want it seem a lot of players don't like the idea of SP lost. MMO players each year that pass want a game that easy more and more.
I agree we need SP lost.

@Arcell it's not about that what he said make a lot of sense. When playing FFXI i did not want to die and alway try and do my best. In FFXIV i can care less i just die and run back 500000 times. -

It's not just about what some hardcore player want. Xp/Sp loss is just a stupid method for a death penalty. It hurts more than than just some kicked in the nuts adrenaline rush you desire. Most people will become scared and paranoid like in XI.

Losing the battle is enough. Let's look to the future where there may well be instanced, timed content with hard boss battles and entry time restrictions / hard to obtain or expensive pop items. Attempting that when not ready will lose the pop or waste the run.
That should be penalty enough, losing a rank in addition is going to be an extra slap in the face.
OK, right now there is no real incentive not to die, but there is also no hardcore content yet either. But it will come. -

@Grimm Give up on it players like them does not see what SP lost can bring it's a pointless matter. Yoshi-p does not want it so it wont be in the game it's 3/1 on this sadly so i give up hope on SP lost. The MMO is full of casuals players now so i guess become a casuals player or wait to see if they do something else. :(

My god people, why don't you think things through and look at options before getting all pissed off about it. Here's a great way they could do it to satisfy everyone:
-First death = loss of SP + weakness. A portion (or even all) can be bought back using Gil or possibly Anima.
-Second death while still under weakness (or within a time frame) = Lose more SP + double weakness. Originally lost SP cannot be bought back.
-Third death (maybe not necessary) = Permanent loss of SP (no buyback), double weakness, loss of Anima.
And keep in mind, under this proposed system, you would not delevel... lowest you could go is 0 XP (with possible XP debt). Aion does a system similar to this and it works pretty darn well. -

Another way to combat death is make it pointless. instead of monsters slowly healing when you die, make them heal fully with one tic so even if you die you have to start the fight over rather than staying back till weaken is off then finishing it when it hasn't fully healed yet.

The market that SE is aiming for would mostly not approve of SP loss.
SP loss without buyback equals invested gaming time lost.
I'm up for anima loss (or anima debt for those parked at 0 anima).
But I'm not up for losing time I invested in this (or any other) game/activity/job. -
