The whole glamour plate/chest system seems to be completely messed up behind the scenes based on all the odd restrictions on it. I really wish there was at least one plate per job.
With the newest update coming for storing sets of dungeon gear from HW onwards in the next patch I wouldn't be surprised if something big was planned for glam in the future. With Fan Fest coming up it would make for a great announcement for 8.0 similar to duel dyes in 7.0. I'm remaining optimistic about it, we need more plates so bad.
i really hope the next update ( they already talked about its next on the prio list after the housing update) is not just another bandaid where they add 5-10 plates and are done with it... temporary xD
in this game are so many glams and its centered pretty heavily around visuals. also having all jobs on one character is also a pretty important function. evrything less than 3-5 base plates + 2 additional plates for any class/job you acquire is just cheap and unworthy.
and yes of course this also means they need to add two plates every time they add another job no matter when they add it.
Frankly other than more plates, the only thing I really want is to be allowed to manually sort my existing plates without having to remake them.
well... if i would wish for somerhing platerelated... hairstyles implemented into plates would be amazing.
It would be nice if they added more slots for saved glamours.
The sweetspot for them having to do the least amount of adjustments for about 4 years would be 40 plates.
- is a sweet doubling of what we have now (we like doubling numbers)
- assuming one plate per job, accomodates at least all 21 standard jobs, 8 crafters, 3 gatherers and 2 limited jobs (total 34)
- based on above, will leave room for a total of six further jobs, which would last until end of 10.X, assuming the trend of two jobs per expansion
Preferably we'd have better systems that aren't as rigid, but realistically this is what might happen and it would solve a lot of problems. Furthermore, it would be greatly appreciated if usage of glamour plates (manually and/or gearset-linked) was not restricted to just sanctuary areas. Job switching in Field Operations and open area exploration feels jarring at times.
I didn't expect them to add 100 equipment sets and portraits per character – that was fantastic.
I also didn't expect them to increase the number of housing items by 1.5 times and double for the garden.
But since they exceeded my expectations there - I say the more the merrier. ^^
And ideally, we'd have 100 glamour plates.
I'm already using all 100 equipment sets, each with a different glamour look.
Well… sort of… more than half of the glamour combinations don't work without adjustments to the arsenal/inventory. ^^
However, the limitation to only 20 glamour plates has made the Glamour chest and the plates themselves so uninteresting to me
that I just kept ignoring them for glam purposes.
Normal gameplay (33) - 21 combat jobs, 8 crafters, 3 gatherers, 1 limited job. Assuming max level, you are looking at 8 shared combat sets (1 extra for BLU), 1 shared crafter set and 1 shared gatherer set. Tools and weapons aside, that's 10 items per slot, 20 for rings, with occasional doubles for Caster/Healer role (spellspeed equipment).
Exploration zone content (x * 21) - same formula for combat jobs. Will mostly affect left side equipment. Eureka (Elemental +2, other rare gear), Bozja (Augmented gear), Occult Crescent (Arcanaut + Occult gear) fall within this category. Make one for each zone, that's 63 gearsets.
Ultimate sets (one or two sets * 21) - gearsets for ultimates where downsyncing current gear doesnt net enough benefit to not have materia active yet.
You can, without a doubt, run out of gearsets and still have space in your Equipment tabs if you stretch it fully.
I didnt play the game back then... just within the last few months with too much time on the PC to get through a depressing winter... but possibly this 'belt' gear was removed to simply free up space in a very limited and fixed amount of data. Such as for glam. I dont know how close these things were together. One gone the other added. Or maybe even something as simple as to accommodate longer or more likely additional file names in a fixed amount of space. They simply say it was 'simplified' and %99.999 percent of players say 'oh ok got it'. If anyone asks why it was simplified... well... trade secrets.
As for changing glamour in the field, that does seem to work. But maybe you cant do it to anything that hasnt had glam already applied at least once to all the gear. I dont remember offhand. Unless there is a misunderstanding on my part. Wouldnt surprise me ;-)
