The Hatching-tide mini game of this year has been really fun. I kept trying to do it even though I had enough currency for everything to see if I could reach 15k points but my record so far has been 14k.
Keep up giving us stuff like this!

I had fun with it. Only took like 3-4 runs to get everything from the vendor and one run's like 3 minutes I think? Perfectly doable in one sitting. Only gripe is not being able to get that scythe as a reaper glam
Tough luck to anyone who has multiple alts in a game that doesn't require alts and has a completionist itch to get everything for all of them I guess.
Glad they keep going with the fun mini game. Achieved 15k, I've seen someone on reddit with 22k score. Rewards are easy enough to get, within 3 run I had enough to buy everything
Can we pleeeeease get that dash attack in regular PVE!!
I had a great time! My only gripe is there’s only solo version. Me & my friends was so looking forward to get into instance together to play & goof together, but that’s just me being nitpicky :p
Also very much appreciate a glimpse to a part of West Shroud (or at least a look-alike)!
Couldn't care much for it because rewards this time are meh.
I wish they would add more minigames like this in the Gold Saucer. This would be fun with more patterns and maybe co-op. And they need to add card and board games to it as well.
Found the mini game part very fun. I’m just personally meh on the rewards but that’s ok I’m not to sure besides the mounts, minions glam etc they could do better for the rewards but this is a step in the right direction.
I suppose anything that is more than talk to this npc then another and then one last time and your done is a good event. Hopefully they keep things like this up. Gives us more incentive to do the event and pay attention opposed to skip all cutscenes and gets rewarded.
I'm glad they're doing more minigames but the GCD and changing zones made this one feel a little slugish.
I enjoyed it, but I enjoyed Valentione's Day more. I'm here for group content and making my friends giggle and sigh at my new double glasses look.
This mini-game rocks. Please bring it back again next year.
This year's seasonal events have shown marked improvement. Please keep experimenting. It has been effective.
I request actual highscores and a server wide highscore board for such events.
The mini-game was fun, though the rewards themselves left a lot to be desired since I won't be using any of the things I farmed all those eggs for.
I found the minigame tedious and unfun and the abysmal payouts are especially ass when you have bilateral wrist tendonitis and are unwilling to cause a disabling flareup chasing hi score for a marginally better payout.
My highest score paid out over 100 eggs, you need 200 for all the non-housing rewards, if you are making at least ~5000 per run, you should only need 4 or so runs for all the glasses, the highest score I've seen got over 200 eggs in one run.
The exact payout rules seem to be 1 egg per 100 points, rounded up, so if you get 10,431 points, you get 105 eggs.
The event is great and easy enough to get all the rewards but...why isn't there a male version of glasses to be had? Seems to only cater to females for glamour. When you first speak with Herb, he is wearing a cool pair of male sunglasses, but they aren't available.
I think the event is fun but I don't really care for the rewards this time around.
There is no leaderboard for the event right?
The event glasses don't cater to anyone except people who like goofy party glasses and maybe the Eorzean equivalent of Elton John. Which is fine, shove them in the armoire and never touch them again. The mini-game is fun and I have hundreds of eggs I won't spend because I keep playing it.
Yes! I didn't see them...
Honest W for Square with this event. Glad we got a new minigame/FATE with every seasonal recently. I hope this trend keeps going because it's one of my favorite parts!
Also, is there a lot of RNG for the buff plants to pop up or not? Or am I just too slow during the mini-game? The most I've gotten is like 22 eggs, and I always use the long line sprint as soon as it's off the CD. Does anyone have any tips for them? I'm trying to get some extra furnishings after I got the glasses and facewear.
The minigame was pretty fun, I think it could have been more fun to do in a group but I don't mind trying to beat my own score.
I'm not a fan of the rewards at all so this is one time I don't mind this being not "alt-friendly".
Another banger this year! The quest was cute, the minigame is fun, and so many detailed rewards! Keep up the great work!
I especially love the painted eggy glasses. The shape and color options are so cute and I will absolutely use them on some outfits as just my girl's glasses. Now we just need some heart shaped frames next year for Valentione's.
Overall I liked the event, but preferred the last two more. (Valentione's, and Little Ladies Day)
Like Little Ladies Day, I found the reward a bit meh. I can't really see myself using these glasses really ever? (More power to ya if you can rock them!) But once I saw that cute scythe I became a bit more disappointed that wasn't part of the reward. - I totally want it <3
The minigame I'm a bit mixed on. Overall it is fun!
The cooldown makes it feel kinda clunky if it was a *bit* faster that might have helped. The bonuses were too random. Some runs I got 5600 points, and others only 1800 (averaging probably 2300?). The rewards a bit too numerous and expensive for how RNG the minigame was.
In terms of doing this even on multiple alt characters:
Little Ladies day was also kinda a grind, but it was slow and not that active so you could easily do it while talking with friends.
Valentione's you could do with friends which made it fun enough.
This being as active, solo, and grindy made it kinda a chore to do on a handful of alts.
I think this event has a fun concept, but the execution is absolutely terrible!
The rewards are mostly just awful; there's nothing really good to get excited about (Mount, glam). The RNG in the minigame is absolutely awful. You only get one good run where you score around 5000 points, and after that, the results get progressively worse until you can't even get 20 eggs. :(
The reason: The extremely bad RNG. You only get a maximum of 2 to 3 eggs per field, or sometimes none at all (thanks for nothing! -.-), and even then, mostly only in bronze and extremely rarely in gold or silver. Additionally, weeds are often completely ignored by the weeder (despite using the weeding rage (?), a plant is still standing next to you, wtf?!). On top of that, there's the unnecessarily long cooldown for skills and map changes. Why?
Oh yeah, and with the Golden Egg buff, I've often experienced that you don't receive any golden eggs at all, or even any eggs at all!
You feel like you have to go in 10 times to get the 260 eggs. Sorry, this event is absolutely terrible. The Valentine and Princess event was significantly better and more fun.
P.S. Oh, and another drawback of the minigame is the constant camera reset! What's with that crap? It's annoying and wastes time trying to adjust the camera so it looks right again. -.-
A 5k score was maybe my second run, and after that, almost all my runs were easily above that. I even hit 15k once, and 10k+ a few other times. I probably did fewer than 10 runs total. Looking back at my screenshots, my lowest early runs were around 475 plants killed, and my best runs were around 575. I had already obtained all the rewards after my third run.
Yes, there is RNG involved—you need the right buffs to maximize egg drops—but there is also a skill component. Clearing rooms in one to four hits versus taking multiple attempts makes a big difference. There’s also a logical way to clear the bushes, especially when some have buffs.
To give a better idea of the RNG: I had three runs with roughly the same number of kills (~475), yet my scores ranged from 6,000 to 12,000. So yes, RNG matters—but it’s not everything.
That said, getting only 20 eggs like you mentioned would correspond to a score of around 2,000. At that point, something is definitely going wrong in your runs.
But even in the worst-case scenario—if your RNG is truly terrible and you need 10 runs—that’s still about 30 minutes of playtime over a two-week event. That’s really not that demanding.
Personally, I hope we get more minigames like this in future events. I’d even love to see something like a jumping puzzle next :)
The score is pretty much rng yes, one time I did way less rooms and got 14k, other time I did like 10 more rooms and got only 7k.
I enjoyed it, just wish we had more rewards.
The minigame is in a position where it is both skill and RNG dependent.
Yes, the buffs are all RNG, and you can get some dry runs, but your ability to gain buffs is heavily influenced by how efficiently you can move across each field, because it is all timed, if you are taking 30 seconds per field and doing them in 7-8 GCDs, you are not going to be doing as well as someone who is managing it in 10 seconds per field in 3-4 GCDs. I want to stress, it is not a high skill ceiling, you can learn to play at peak efficiency in a couple runs, but there is still an element of performance here, and if you are making 2k or less points every run, then I feel that's a genuine skill issue.
Better rewards... those rewards were horrible but the event it self was fun
Yeah, even tho I was p bad and my most eggs I got was 30 in the end after I even went back to collect extra furnishings, but it only took me a few days overall.
I hope they keep working on new ideas for events with their own mini-games is my main dream and feedback too.
I would love this to be added to the Gold Saucer. Something that you can just pop into every now and then.
This has nothing to do with a lack of skill or, in your view, with stupidity, but rather with physical limitations. Perhaps people like you should consider that there are also people with physical limitations who also play FF14! Seriously, your comment was a complete flop! *facepalm*
P.S. And by the way, it has nothing to do with efficiency! It's pure RNG luck, and every FF14 player knows how absolutely terrible the RNG is in FF14! Efficiency is completely useless if you mostly find bronze and silver eggs!
How y'all getting scores that high? Max I've gotten on any of the characters I've done it on is around 5K.
