If they really going to add to character customization, if we will finally get some built-in piercing/tattoos I want nose rings and stuff to be added

It takes me 5min in Limsa to get a headache from all these people trying so hard to play IMVU.

If people aren’t dressing like Cyberpunk characters, everyone is going for that horny edgy BDSM stuff.

Like I get it most of people are narcissistic as hell, but it kills the charm of the game day after day with all of these Kpop and harnesses fits.

I’m probably in the minority thinking like that, but I’m genuinely tired to see that stuff everywhere and do hope SE will add more and more actual fantasy stuffs

you realize tattoos and piercings are one of the most ancient things right they aren't even close to modern or pre modern they predate even some countrys, comparing it to kpop nonsense is actrually insulting to the history of it, in fact i agree with dislike towards the kpop because that took my thing and made it look like well..


plus again THE FANTASY AGRUMENT has no place when the game has guns and ROBOTS, imaging being a mch in a fantasy and saying it kills charm of game to have stuff like that when you summon a robot and use a gun lol

I do realise that yeah, but you said you want your character to look as much as you, so my guess is you don’t have any cultural tribe tattoo (that are already available in game, race specific).

tribal no but i I do have a Celtic-based tattoo so i do have one culture wise

and just so you know IMVU is actrually better for so many things, but you don't get to be anti-semi modern when there are fucking gaint robots and guns period

tbh at this point i hope they go all the way, to with adding 2000's scene type costumization, for three reasons A. because i love it b. honestly IMVU is great more costumization along that scale would be awesome, and c: not going to lie i want it even more than i ever did just to piss off the type of the people that pissed me off multiple times over the years for revenge would make me feel better for the tears forums made me shed in past to see people get pissed and upset over them doing that would make me happy as a type of pay back plus extra happy finally getting it

If I remember correctly from the interview the word moles were used. So my guess is that some of nonracial traits will start to be shared between each race and gender.
Like maybe the muscle slider Hyur and Roe have. Obviously moles will be a trait so I'm thinking scars will also get the treatment. Meaning Lalafell can finally have battle scars.
That said I'm wondering if we will get more face selection options such as elderly for example. Though for me personally I really hope they expand on the color selections for hair, lipstick and makeup along with things like the moles and scars etc.

the difference between us is I will go as far as possible if i must its not about "special" its about will and desire to seek it at any price necessary if if that means at the end there isnt a game at all, also not really because you can't you can half-ass do it or do it close..

Listen, the less people have to rely on mods the better.
Piercings, Tatoos, or muscle tones for ALL races, and you basically have 75% covered. That goess beyond only private areas, which will not happen because you cannot strip beyond smallclothes by default. This also means less syncing.

And let's not forget that pierced Fantasy characters is nothing new. TOTK Ganondorf, Any and all orcs, at least 1 sidecharacter or thug anywhere.
Some people use face paint as stand-in for facial tatoos, and some gear literally adds tatoos.

I'd personally add scars.

I don’t see how people using the glams the game has available to them makes people narcissistic? OP just wants customization that helps them feel closer to their own identity, and that’s okay? Narcissism is about a lack of empathy and an inflated sense of self‑importance, not about enjoying a certain style on a character...

It’s okay to prefer more fantasy style glamours, I would love more fantasy themed stuff actually available in game as opposed to on the store, but it feels unfair to dismiss or insult players who enjoy different aesthetics. Everyone’s character is their own, and the variety is part of what makes every character unique.

All above said Hrothgars and Hrothgals exist which would mean more work and rescources, so it will likely not happen.
Also don't sexualize piercings? More likely than not it would be the usual, like nose, mouth, eyebrows and ears, which... are basically anywhere that isn't the earlobe.

Nah, Nightclubs and Second-Life live rent-free in your head. More likely than not, it would be simple things, and it's the modders that would do all that.

Maybe you should read my post again, this isn't about what CS3 would want to implement (probably none of it since that's a massive amount of extra work for them), this is about what players will be asking for and what we could potentially end up with if the devs cave.

Think of it like ear clamps for Elezen. Plus it can be easily circumvented by limiting selection like facepaint. Something like this is viable in Fantasy whether you like it or not.

But like I said, probably not going to happen.

I once saw someone’s modded picture of a character that had like a star map tattoo on their arms that looked really pretty. Also wouldn’t mind having a tattoo of the Astra emblem from CC, since it’s my name and all.

IF i have to see people with stupid ugly xmass outfits on, or dressed with gaint animal heads on you can handle 2 seconds of seeing badass clawsome piercings like nose,lip,eyebraws, hell if we showed our tongues a tongue piercing would be great as well, thats the best looking things in the universe between that and awesome tattoos

The more options we have the better. We need new faces,long hairstyles, beards, body hair etc.

One thing you can't avoid when looking at FFXIV characters on social media is that adding insane mods to their character's body is the big go-to reason to mod in the first place. But 99.9% of said characters look absolutely hideous because there is so little regard for any parity with what's actually in the game. Textures of tattoos and scars, make-up, hair all look garish and trash because they aren't trying to blend into the current art direction of FFXIV, but in plenty of cases, people have tattoos and piercings just like that in real life. Considering the WoL is our self-insert, it's only natural to express wanting your WoL to look a certain way.

That said, I don't think it's a bad idea to add that kind of thing to character creator via the devs using their own tools and assets. We already have gear that have tattoos baked in, and a whole series of various ear piercings and face tattoos. I don't think requesting an eyebrow piercing and back scar is going to result in the average WoL wandering in retail to suddenly take on the form of those aforementioned mod beasts. If anything, it prevents that by giving players more options in retail!

I've been asking for an option to give my Miqo'te a chip out of her ear for ages. It doesn't need to be insane.

I'm calling the assets used for mods hideous, not the look itself. The only reason I'm not covered in piercings is because my body hates them, and I love tattoos and have many.

I'm 100% in support of adding some official options so we can make our WoL even closer to our personal vision.
