Def getting Leo's set. The hair at least, but I love that coat too.
I wonder if it'll cost more than Fantasian itself to buy all these.
It says there's emotes too.
I know it is another cash shop but I do like the hairstyles, so I will maybe get one with my left over birthday gold :D
I only want Leo's hair so I hope it will be sold separately along with the usual Starlight sales too.
I don't really want the nice outfits. So, I hope the Hairstyles are sold separately. Oh, and emotes as well.
I love the hair for the ladies. The styles look more detailed than we normally get.
oh i definitely want the blue dress..is anyone familiar enough with fnd to know what the emotes might be? i've never even heard of it until this came up
Once again a move I don't understand. Instead of giving those to the largest number of people so they might get interested in their other games, put it on the store where mostly people that already played FND would be interested in (and whales).
They're nice outfit designs, and I like that it's a new option for getting a princess tiara if you don't like the Faerietale Princess outfit -- I did at some point buy that outfit 90% for the tiara (10% for the pretty skirt I've still never found a use for) but this set seems more usable.
I’m hoping it’s not just part of that character’s hairstyle, and it’s an actual tiara headpiece. It looks like the hair wraps around it… I love the Azeyma hairstyle for my character but most tiaras and circlets don’t show through the bangs… this looks like it might sit high enough on the head that it would actually show up with Azeyma hair. I’ll probably get both the female outfits anyway, assuming they dye well when I try them on with Dreamfitting. lol

I think all three hairstyles will look good the outfits are okay as well
I'm looking forward to Cheryl's hairstyle. It looks like she wears a simple headband in the game?

And the back is pretty nice! I didn't expect it to be twin low buns, but it's such a cute touch. I hope the textures are nice.
Looking forward to seeing them next Tuesday and hope they are nice in game. I am thinking the tiara might be part of the bun hair but I hope not :)
Oh wow, seeing the backs, all three are really cute. That's... Dangerous.
Lemme guess. Won't work on female hrothgar? Lol
Hroth are getting new hairstyles listed in the notes. I think Hrothgar will be getting them as all the other hairstyles Hilda and Omega have all worked.
I do feel sad though that we have to pay for new hair they used to add them with patches but now they are adding Hroth ones and hoping the other races will be ok with not having new but having them on the store. I do feel Hrothgar need more hair though as they are half done >.<
I hope the tiara is headgear and not part of the hair. Might go back to fem miqote for the outfit and hair.
Why even develop content anymore when you can just sell stuff.
If it helps ease any concerns, modern cash shop hairstyles are always created with availability to Hrothgar & Viera. It's only the old hairstyles they're slowly working through at this point.
This has been bothering me, too. I think it's particularly egregious that, with this release, we'll now have more hairstyles released in the cash shop than released to be obtainable within the game this expansion. Many of the contest winners have nice, unique silhouettes too--and there's so many of them that I was really hoping we'd get more than one implemented per patch. It's extra aggravating when most of the cash shop hairstyles have been feminine-leaning ponytails at this point, as well (not that I inherently dislike that style)...
Black headbands confirmed to be built into Cheryl's and Leo's hairstyles, but the tiara is part of Cheryl's outfit so it's separate from the hair (also sold separately). The texturing looks nice at first glance?
If anyone gets it, mind posting how it looks on your characters?
The emotes being just bstance with added flair (think /blowkiss vs /dote) made me roll my eyes into the back of my skull
How lazy can you get?
Also, the Fantasian collab is limited from today until 6/1/2026, which is unfortunate as this is the first of limited time cash shop collab so far in ffxiv.
People listing dates as MM/DD/YYYY always gets me to do a double take...
Anyways, agreed. I find it odd, but they also left a note saying it may come back so I'm not too worried.
Guess we'll start getting collab stuff that pops in and out of the store in an attempt to keep things fresh...? I wonder what would possess them to make this choice.
Oh look, they're adding FOMO to the cash shop.
That's gross. No thanks...
The hairs are gorgeous. I bought them both. My money. My priorities. You all need to really get with the program because this game is 100% heading towards an in-game cash shop, battle passes, premium pass upgrades and more. If you don't think they aren't watching the success of Wuthering Waves, Genshin and now Where Winds Meet, you're sorely mistaken. Also, what is with all the complaints? It's optional. You aren't required to purchase.
Love the new hairstyles the twin bun one is not as nice on my Midlander but the shortish ponytail one is really lovely though and the price was not too expensive. I do like the outfits also.
They might be looking at the success of WuWa, Genshin, Winds, etc. But CU3 is in no way able to replicate their delivery plan.
The success is partly because there's always a draw for you to get into the game daily, but also a lot of new content. Some ZZZ patches are running for something like 6 weeks versus FFXIV's 19 weeks.
I got the Leo hair. It fits my character perfectly. It's exactly the kind of style that I would wear and fits my avatar incredibly well.
I'm actually really glad it wasn't locked to an outfit I wouldn't use. That's a change the devs have done with the cash shop I fully support.
Who on earth okayed this dye scheme? You can dye the leggings and...the tiny pouch on the side that you can barely see?
Why can't I dye the shorts and the big black stripe at the top?

Like a pot of water heating slowly, this game's been steadily headed into this direction at an almost glacial pace for years. I used to try and tell people. Once I even suggested boycotting the cash shop, and it got me a 10 day ban from these forums. Every time I tried to boycott anything that I felt encouraged bad consumer practices, I'd go into Limsa and see everyone else wearing the thing anyway. So the process continued. Voting with your wallet doesn't work. Even on a larger scale, the video game industry in general is simply cooked. For years I avoided the console scene and the Triple-A industry because of how bad it is. I didn't want to encourage more of that garbage with my money. But everyone else bought it anyway, and now here we are, 80 dollar games incomplete at launch with microtransactions out the ass.
Finally, one day, I just got tired of it. I was purposefully avoiding things I wanted to enjoy, and for what? Things just kept getting worse anyway, because gamers have 0 standards as a collective. The industry is cooked. The wrong lessons are always learned. No matter how often I painfully voted with my wallet, I was outvoted by whales who didn't give a shit. So I don't care about taking a principled stance anymore, not for something as banal as this anyway. Clearly the people have chosen, and this is the path forward for the game. I may as well enjoy myself and buy the damn hair since it's the first nice one they've made (imo) in years. Good on you for sticking to your guns, but as someone who did that for years, it's not worth it for these people and this game is cooked. Has been for years. b2p + sub + cash shop is insane and it's only getting worse because limsa whales have no self control and investors demand bigger and bigger profits so even if we all collectively said no, they'd still probably keep doing it anyway or pivot to mobile where the base is truly whipped. If I see something I like nowadays, I just enjoy it while I can and save my energy for battles that are worth fighting. Luckily, sooooooooo many games are hot garbage now, and so much mogstation stuff is just slop, that this hasn't really been a problem anyway, but yeah.
Sorry for the doomer post btw, I'm just tired. Being a conscious gaming consumer for years was hard, and it was really frustrating because there were so many moments where people would be like "let's boycott [thing]" and then [thing] would break records anyway. I'm tired of "gamers." I'm tired of my hobby turning into this. I'm tired of shareholders. But more than anything, I'm tired of denying myself things I want while nothing changes. This rant was a long time coming, sorry again. Good luck remaining true to your beliefs. It's hella admirable, but gamers will never change and things will continue to get worse no matter what.
Now i can see the whales
All three look awesome Viera
Heh, you give me too much credit, as I've bought things from the cash shop myself (most recent one being the Galatea set) or how I do indulge in gacha games and have spent money on some usually via their "monthly log-in" semi-subscription thing.
I make no presumptions or harbor any delusions that I'm making a crippling impact on any company's bottom-line when I forego purchasing their wares (and that goes for companies beyond just gaming ones), but rather it's a matter of personal convenience when I decide something isn't worth a cost no matter how little it might be.
Many of these companies already act like they owe me nothing while holding their hand out, but it's always in my power to tell them "no". The worst thing anyone can do is convince themselves that they're "obligated" to give a company money out of misplaced loyalty or sunk-cost fallacy. There's been plenty of online games and gacha I've closed my wallet to (or never opened it in the first place) and walked away from without a second thought, because if they consider me a disposable source of income, then that means I can consider them a disposable source of entertainment.
The thing is though, they CAN eventually run out of money, and there's a massive, always filling graveyard of "service" games and gacha out there to prove it. But I'll never be without something fun to do even if its with another game or hobby.
"Modern" gaming becomes a much easier thing to navigate when you accept its transactional nature, but THEY are the ones at the constant disadvantage, not the consumer, and it's entirely self-inflicted with their obsession to chase trends, tunneling their vision on short-term gains, and over-bloated budgets. Even FF14 its self has had a "Brush with Death" and judging by all the emergency glass they've been breaking lately, they've been rattled something fierce once again.
Is it unfortunate when a game once good becomes bad and dies out completely? Perhaps, but it will never be mine or yours fault, and I'm only willing to give us much pity and sympathy as they give me, which is often absolutely zero. I'm just an ATM to them after all, and those are not devices known for their compassion, and their dispensing of money can be... fickle, especially right when somebody needs it most.
If nothing else, don't feel bad when you buy something you do like, even from a company you're miffed with, because you made that purchase for YOU in that moment, and not necessarily for their sake.
