[Suggestion] Quickstride usable outside of Active mode

So Quickstride is a great move, sadly when it comes down to it, it is such a pain to have to be active mode to use it. It takes roughly 7 seconds to go active mode use skill and then passive mode, now if someone were to say, trying to evade a monster, they would be dead already. Now I understand while in combat it is very useful, but when is it a good time to use it? 1) you are kiting a mob to a party, 2) your tank couldn't hold agro, or the tank died. So you have to run for your life to save the group(but chances are you will die faster then your group can get out of the line of fire). Those are the situations I have been in where I have used it. The majority of the time I see people using Quickstride, is for quick movement for travel across the world. So why make the player waste 7 seconds to change stance, use skill, and change stance again. Why not let us Quickstride at anytime(as long as you are still an Archer)

I've thought about that a couple times as well. It's a bit of a pita to go into active mode, activate skill and switch back to passive mode. The only work around I could find is to get that Lancer Skill where you can run at normal speed with drawn weapon. So you get no penality with the weapon out.

But on the other hand, it's not just for Quickstride. It's basically for every other passive skill which benefits you or the group. I'd also like improvements on the animations of the skills. But that's another chapter in "Fixing the game" story =p.

I'd also like to suggest that Quickstride not deplete gear durability. If you use it to run around town (like Flee in FFXI), you'll quickly notice that your gear is taking a hit.

Well.. since we're running with the speed of light, of course our gear is getting damaged over time :O *whhooooosh* *beepbeep*

I liked your idea for I have shared the same idea but until then I have the Lancer Trait Fleet of Foot and that makes up for the speed loss, so I just pop Quickstride and run with my weapon out.

I would like to be able to switch between active and passive mode without it affecting my movement at all. I would also like to be able to use Quickstride without switching to active mode. As for the durability loss when using the ability- I would like to see it removed but it doesn't seem to be nearly as important as eliminating the hassle of being forced to stop and pull out a weapon just to use a job ability...

Any ability that isn't an attack should be usable in passive mode.
Like spell casting, raging strike, quick stride etc

This! SE should definitely take this into consideration.

The biggest problem with Quickstride is the duration time. Even if they extended the time 5 seconds, it would offset the time that you would use to sheathe the weapon. But I think they intended for the ability to be like a Flee. Would make sense after all

I'm pretty sure Quickstride + Fleet of Foot in Active is still not as quick as Quickstride in Passive. When you're running in active switch to passive and it seems noticeably faster.

Fleet of Foot is approx 95% speed on Lancer at least. On Archer it may be less. With that in mind, of course it would be not as fast as passive

Omg this needs a bump or at least a dev needs to tag it.
