Musings on PT 80+ and player accountability

Honestly, maybe even 70+. I think that making it accessible towards all sorts of players is great - after all, that group does include me, and it made me want to do all the deep dungeons.

However, I think 80+ but especially 90+ should probably have stayed relegated to Party Finder. Obviously, if blacklist actually prevented you from getting DF matched to someone, that could be abused, but I genuinely think that making it Party Finder and being able to blacklist bad actors would've made this a lot less arduous.

I have wiped as the last one alive on floor 91 on four different occasions. Each time, I have asked people if there is anyone new to the floorset, have explained mechanics in advance, and so on. Each time, people pulled a bunch of nonsense, died to their own ineptitude and left me to try and figure out how to survive it.

[But 0blivion! What if they don't speak English? I have explained it in nearly all DF languages at this point, thank you very much.]

When I deliberately don't engage the enemy so I can raise people after, I usually falter eventually because the war of attrition is wearing me down. That's a skill issue on my part, and I'm aware that it is.

When I try to support the party from a safe location, it ends up with someone pulling something that can shoot through walls, and either I die or everyone else dies and I get the aggro because I fought alongside them. It's pointless.

Because you can DF this content, there's less PF listings than there normally would be. I get it, accessibility, but there needs to be a way to avoid these people...

...And I know there won't be, so this is just me whining. Anyway, I think I'll do gacha dailies while waiting for PF to fill.

(Then again, the last time I made a PF people joined on the roles I had selected in the PF and then swapped upon joining, but at least I can block those guys...)

You can still PF it if you prefer to, or solo it. Being able to start from the higher floors solo already makes it way better, because then you can just go in solo for the hard floors so you don't have to rely on players that will let you down.

I do think the blacklist issue is more prevalent in a deep dungeon due to lack of role matching and it being a very specific queue though. Whereas for roulette queues the chances of matching with a blacklist person when you're rolling over such a variety of dungeons and trials is far lower, and the content is far more trivial.

I dunno - I did the whole thing fine in DF. Tomayto, tomahto.

PFs for Deep Dungeon content have always been scarce; I think having DF as an option is a good thing that should carry forward into future ones.

If you're worried that much about it, play Tank. Any of them will do but PLD especially has a lot of carry potential with Shield Bash.

Can't be matched with people who shouldn't be doing the content if I never party to begin with. However for an actual response I'd probably just leave them on the floor if they willingly choose incompetence. Ideally I'd just choose not to party with randoms at all in content that needs to be taken seriously.

Later DD floors require coordination. Don't want to coordinate? That can be fixed.

Nothing stops you from making your own party. Isn't that what you were telling to people complaining about Forked Tower? It's easier than ever to recruit as you can start on floor 70 to get your 8 clears. That beign said I had no problem clearing with pugs. Had the first wipe in the entire dungeon at 91 becasue of 1 person running ahead of everyone and triggering giant untelegraphed AoEs but then got it with another group. There are discord channels to speed things up too and, contrary to FT, you can solo.

Edit: having done quite a lot of DDs, I came across bad players with PF too, including people just leaving when reaching the interesting floors in PotD because they were "tired" despite being warned about required availability and them agreeing to it. Also got some who got dead drunk along the way and killed the entire team leeroying the top floors.

bruh, if u want it PF, just do it PF. Nobody force u to DF it.
If u make it PF only, this content will just die very quickly, because a lot of people don't want to bother for extra steps.

I think 91+ should have been even more easier if they let people q from 71. Don't get me wrong, but i already had a wipe with random who pulls like it's first floor with "i am obliged to get the pointless rng sack" mentality. Or let q from 91 idc.

Such pointless rewards to throw 2 hours of previous floors for other people in party.

Maybe many points to enter is mistake, this is a content to me you should join party and play in fear you get blsted for being "i am better player than you (but you res me after i die by my mistake)".

With Forked Tower, hosting your own runs was feasible as long as you were on the discord. Which I was, and I did host my own runs. I also hosted my own PF, as described in the OP. Sadly, the PFs take longer to fill than they would if the players weren't spread onto DF, you seemingly can't filter Duty Complete on PT (please correct me if I'm wrong, I wanna be wrong on this lol), and it's been... exhausting. Looking at the Worlds of people who don't have issues DFing it though, I think this might be a DC issue and I should go back to playing on NA (lol).

That said, complaining worked and I had a perfectly serviceable, fast-filling PF group today. I think I should just... not do this on reset day, actually. lmao

Deep Dungeon runs take hours and you can't rep anyone who leaves midway - that's the real reason they don't show up in PF, not because you can queue in the Duty Finder.

...You know what? Yeah, that makes sense, I've never encountered it but that sounds stupid.

Don't DF if you're not prepared to carry. The possibility of new to instance is there. Advertise a reclear party in PF if you want a more fixed comp.
