So we have seen that in Alexandria, they have different names for the Lalafell, Hyur and Elezen. But i do wonder what the names of the other races Alexandria gave them on the ninth.
Like for hrothgar, will the alexandria use a gem that is related to lions? And for Au Ra, maybe based of a gem with the meaning of scales or horns? What do you guys think?

Unless they go out of their way to tell us, it seems to be heavily implied Alexandria was basically Ishgard in the sense that there's only hyur and elezen, then lalafell were introduced after the Calamity of Ice. They might not even have an Alexandrian word for it just like an Ishgardian might have never seen a Viera before, and thus wouldn't know what to call them...
Malachite would be a nice stone for Hrothgar, maybe? Associated with loyalty and some may believe it to bring protection and courage.
I think a color changing stone that looks nice raw would be fitting to represent both Au Ra clans, maybe Fluorite? The meaning I found was nothing particularly interesting, but the stone itself is really cool looking. -

We most likely didn't hear about Alexandria having their own miqo'te because it simply wasn't important; Sphene brings up the hhetsaro to Wuk Lamat specifically, and outside of that the only prominent miqo'te are the family in the Arcadion, who are Yyasulani descendants. There's also an NPC in Living Memory that confirms the existence of dwarves outside of the milalla, they were just rather insular as a community.Quote:

EDIT: I did a quick check through the dungeons, and yes, there are two miqo'te in the Alexandria dungeon, one in the first section and one in the last; my guess is they're Keepers. The Meso Terminal is much harder to check because the NPCs aren't there in Explorer Mode, but scrubbing through a recording I couldn't see any races outside of hyur, elezen and milalla; I wouldn't be surprised if some of them were roegadyn, but I couldn't get a good enough look to be sure.
If you're the type to want clan specifics, the miqo'te seem to be keepers, the milalla are only ever plainsfolk, and for the elezen I'm not 100% but they all seemed to be duskwight. Hyur are almost all midlanders, but there's some highlanders in the Meso Terminal. -

Where are you getting this from? As far as I'm aware there's just one guy in Living Memory who makes some reference to FF9 dwarf stuff, but nothing (to my recollection) about how the Milalla fit into the picture. I am not sure where to get the quote from though.Quote:

They had some unique customs there. For instance, when greeting someone, you had to say "lali-ho" in a spirited manner.
Our settlement was also famous for a gigantic tree that grew nearby. It was so enormous that, when you stood at its base, the roots covering the gound went beyond the horizon.
The terminal here at Windspath Gardens is apparently inspired by that very tree─the Iifa Tree, its name was.
It may not be real, but it's nice to have it as a memento for posterity.

I think it's probably a safe assumption that all of the shards have all of the player races that Mankind split into.
The implication to me has always been that the shards were all identical at minute 1, but then had their own histories from there.
So the Ninth undoubtedly has names for all the races, though since only Alexandria seems to have any surviving life, it's possible some may be extinct.
I took the Conde Petie callout to be a reference to the native Ninth Milalla population, and that the character was descended from them, rather than the Aloalo ones.
Really though, it's possible Conde Petie was established by the Aloalo Milalla. I can't remember if it was ever established when in the Ninth's history they showed up, but it was thousands of years ago on the Source. -

There's never been especially strong evidence for it, but by the same token, there's also never been evidence against it. Including the fact that, yes, we have never seen a Garlean from the First or Ninth. Even from the place where we'd most expect it, the First's Cid equivalent.Quote:
