Dynamis DC needs help.

Hello from EU,..

I'm keeping it short.

Its unbearable to play on Dynamis.
All Duty Roulettes take ages to pop. Frontline doesnt pop, Maps except Limsa seem dead.
MSQ Trials and Ally-Raids can pretty much only be done unsync via the PF unless you want to wait 2 hours for the queue to pop. No point in trying to open a PF for Savage or Ultimate fights. I could continue this list for hours.




Some possible solutions..
DC Travel via aetherytes without logging off.
Small Duty Roulette EXP Bonuses for Travelers that come over to Dynamis
Better bonuses for players transferring to Dynamis. Not only EXP Bonuses.
Deleting the DC to invest in better servers and more worlds on the other DC's(?)

The issue for me, personally, is that if I've been logged in for about 2-3 days and I logout to travel to Dynamis, the game boots me out and makes me login again. It's already a hassle to travel to another data center, and that makes it so much worse that I usually just keep to my own data center.

I am on Dynamis. I never stay on Dynamis. LOL.

They need to implement cross-dc duty and party finder.

It would solve all of Dynamis' problems, but SE and CBU3 are incompetent, so Dynamis will remain dead.

I have a house on Dynamis but always log into Aether. It's genuinely not a big deal to log into Aether data center where you never wait more than 2 minutes for any DPS queue. It's also not a hassle because it adds 30 seconds to my login process. There's no issue.

Quite wrong. Yoshi-P has stated they could easily implement a cross-dc party finder but not a duty finder. I will tell you though, they will not implement a dc-wide pf because NA players are awful at communicating anything in-game and often blame others for their own mistakes. It has nothing to do with incompetence.

The problem is that a bunch of people went to Dynamis for the housing, bought a house, and did nothing with it, then travel off Dynamis.

My solution, that no one would like, is to block folks from leaving the DC, but allow anyone to travel in, similar to OCE. Given them a bonus when they come over for doing content on Dynamis, too.

To punish Dynamis players even more?
Not everyone transferred to Dynamis for the housing. Not me at least.

I think having a bonus for doing content in unpopulated worlds would be helpful. Think how we have "Preferred" worlds that let you move there for free and the game somewhat tries to put any new characters in there when it can. We can save that one for new worlds and introduce another tier that lets you move in there for free and provides any native characters with a bonus to completing duties within their FC and possibly a smaller bonus for travellers doing content over there too.


Dynamis is in such a rough state. I'm not surprised people are bitter about it...

They should merge Dynamis into Primal.
Together we could make up something like a functioning Data Center, maybe.

Forgive my ignorance but if you're from EU, why are you on an NA DC? Are the EU ones bad?

Considering how I've seen no response from Sqenix or CBU3, I can only assume they don't care about Dynamis.

Oh they care about it, But their solution isn't great. It's known as "World Population Balancing Incentives" They just shut down half of the servers on Aether/Crystal/Primal every patch and give them "congested" status. So if somebody wants to move or create a character on a particular server they are SOL. To go one step further, they have travel restriction, which means you can't travel to certain servers if they are "too busy" at a given time.

Newer players should mind, this didn't used to exist. In Shadowbringers and early Endwalker no server was closed entirely. If it was too busy at a time you couldn't create a character, but they were not outright locked it arbitrarily for a patch.

The plus side is the "Preferred+" status of most Dynamis servers. You get a million gil on a new character, once per account. People transfering to one get to have their house refunded, they also get to transfer for free. Back in Stormblood they had an even better system... They let people relocate their houses outright. Since there's a lottery now though, they do the housing refund instead.

It's obviously not enough, because Data Center travel exists now, and because Dawntrail lacks the numbers. If Data Travel didn't exist, and if Dawntrail was successful - Then I have no doubt Dynamis would be thriving. At the moment it's mostly a hub for Aether venues, because the venue system on that data center got broken since nobody could get to a Aether server. Data Center travel messed up a number of things, such as hollowing out Primal and Crystal for party finder, with Aether being the "mega datacenter". They did not antipate the problem and any real solutions may be over a year from now. The solutions may not be pretty either.

I have an alt on Dynamis, and its been excellent for playing through the MSQ, with the sole exception of TRIALS. I had this same issue with trials on Crystal - though not as bad as on dynamis. Trials take an AGE to get into no matter what data center you seem to be on (unless of course those trials have Duty Support).
As soon as I reach a trial that does not have Duty Support, I have to log out and swap data centers. Now granted, my use-case scenario is a far cry from the norm that others have who want to run Extremes and Endgame content. I can see that being an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE.

I do think that Dynamis needs assistance. Perhaps merging some of its servers together or better yet, change the way Data Center travel works to be in-line with how World Visit works. Blend the Data Center regions together for example (ie. All of America, or All of Europe, able to world visit and run content together without logging in/out to change centers, etc). Granted, I understand the execution to make that a reality is likely not so simple an undertaking.

This will just result in people permanently transferring to Aether and Dynamis will still be empty.
SE needs to bite the bullet and invest into creating seamless cross-dc party and duty finder (and maybe even cross-region, considering how much issues there is with population nowadays).

Dissolve Dynamis, and redistribute it's servers amongst the other NA DC's.
2 for Crystal, 2 for Primal, 4 for Aether (since we're always """full""" and everyone's always running over here anyway)

Server merge when

I'm on Dynamis.

I switch servers when needed, don't have to worry about fighting for limited resources, and still make millions of gil on the market board.

Dynamis is great.

They already did the opposite thing on Japan because their servers couldn't handle 10 worlds per data center.

tbh I'm not on Dynamis, but it let others have good house plots w/o much competition, so it's fine with me. I think it exists fine as an overflow DC for the future upcoming expansion, so it's working as intended for SE along w/for all the new xbox players.

Also, yeah, they split the past DC into smaller servers since it wasn't working well for Japan and everyone too, so no reason they would want to add it back to the main NA other DC along w/reducing waiting times during big updates.

Finally, if you want to raid more or RP it's a personal choice if paying for the DC transfer is worth losing the M or L house in the process for a bigger PF.

I'm on Dynamis. I pop over to Crystal for PvP because there is no PvP on Dynamis.

My main alt is in Seraph but I have been going to Exodus where my original main is from to play because the DF of Dynamis is terrible, PVP is much worse when I haven't seen a Frontline que pop since 7.0 when DC traveling was restricted to Dynamis only.

Apparently dynamis is just a placeholder for alt accounts and venues. I see more pfs for venues than for running content. And dynamis has the numbers but they go elsewhere, whoch is weird. Like why make an account on a server you're not even going to play on? The way people operate in this game makes no sense to me.

The OP said why.

You're completely barred from engaging in combat activities that require a party because of the sheer, complete lack of players in the pool to draw from.

It's a catch-22. The solution is more people should simply be on Dynamis. But Dynamis is dead. So everybody on Dynamis server hops to Crystal / Aether to have a pool to draw from for content. Thereby insisting Dynamis stays dead.

My friends are on Midgardsormr. I only go back to my home server to refresh my house and check my retainers. Dynamis is a bedroom community, a safety valve that SE keeps released so they can offer unsuspecting players the chance to get an easy housing plot, and newbies the chance to get the "dead 2010s freemium MMO" experience. It's no different than the "free land in Siberia" deals that Russia likes to offer the gullible. Sure, you can take it, but good luck actually doing anything with it.

It sucks because I like crafting, I like being a gil goblin but I can't reasonably justify doing it if taking a retainer trip means having to schedule an early-morning DC transfer and log off session just so I'm not stuck on the outside looking in as my friends play. It would be more tolerable if everyone else wasn't on Aether, Balmung, or Mateus. What makes it worse is one of the best community tools to manage this, Waitingway, is now gone because the dev has decided he's had enough of FFXIV, too.

I would lose my house and drop money to server transfer to Midgardsormr if I could, but I'm locked out of that, too. The DC system and SE's stubborn refusal to admit that the status quo is intolerable to anyone outside of Aether has become the defining feature of this game to me since it's functionally split it in half.

I love dynamis and have no trouble getting qs most of the time for most content. PvP is the only thing I automatically head to crystal for. Alliance is often in pf and not impossible to pop but I’ll go to crystal for that as well if the q is long.

Some players are housing mains, and transferring is free along with you can make an alt fast then grind up enough to form an FC and start bidding after 1 month, then have zero competition for most housing plots in all empty wards. If anyone wanted to dedicate a new studio for gpose or even nightclub venues, they can start up pretty fast compared to how often other NA DC are Congested so it's the ideal place for socialization if you're not into raiding.

Dynamis has become a housing center and a venue server. It's pretty active for that for sure. I have 4 characters on Dynamis all 100 end game and I do my content on Aether or Crystal. It's what people got into the habit of doing there. I don't see it changing unless they lock out DC travel.

On another note Materia is worse than Dynamis yet people on that DC are prisoners and can't go anywhere to get content done. Pretty sad given they pay the same sub fee.
