What's going on with Occu;t Cresent?

Been trying to get demiatma (booo!) from OC on an alt due to sheer boredom and man oh man, zones go from 60+ brand new players with max time to less than 20 within 20 minutes and everything seems to scale around the 60+ making even standard fates take forever and a day and CEs nearly impossible. In one CE it will be full of players and then suddenly there are 6 who show up and everyone else is just gone from the zone.

Is this the changes to the Tower rearing it's ugly head? i've been zone jumping and every single time this happens.

After 3 days of this, I have gotten 1 demiatma. It was bad enough before but how is anyone supposed to do this now?

OC is an extremely isolated content island that offers almost nothing if you don't intend to do Forked, just FFV cosmetics that are purchased with something that is best farmed outside of the CEs and FATEs. Demiatmas are a one-time step that is better done via mainland Tural FATEs(especially verdigris), and the more recent step doesn't include OC at all. South Horn was doomed from the start because it is yet another piece of content that has an extremely limited shelf life, and it's not like leveling a new batch of phantom jobs in 7.45 is going to revitalize it.

40-ish people leaving the instance all at once sounds to me like a Forked Tower premade that just finished re-leveling to 20, and so they leave the instance and re-queue to get a fresh one.

CEs should scale to the number of people who are actually there. FATEs might need to reset, though? (I've never understood how that works.)

CEs scale by the number of people that participate. If you are all alone, it should be as fast as doing it with 70 others. Fates you can tag and reset, then they are scaled to 1 person and also die immediatly.
The only thing that -can- suck are the pot fates, but theres like 20 people camping those nowadays, so they shouldnt be an issue anymore either

Trick for FATEs, if you are alone at one, is to pull it, then run out of range, then pull again, to try and get it to rescale. The most dangerous one really is the bird at NW which can catch you out with an attack that is guaranteed to kill you.

CEs fully scale to the number of participants, so, provided you can do the mechanics, you can solo them and I have done this a lot.

Not even that, given the game's lack of gil sinks it's easily purchasable on the MB if the player knows how to make money. It leaves just the Arcanaut gear.

having 1% drops from bronze chests that are worth 3-4m is kinda nice, if you wanna try for some money

And arcanauts effect is too weak

Full +2 is only 13.5% more damage and 15% more phantom damage

I honestly consider them more FFV cosmetics, just ones that you can't put on the MB. They fail as catchup gear, and they're all just based on Bartz's sprites for different jobs.

I went in when it first released and I then got side tracked by Exp 33 and have just been back in there again. I tired fate farming over 3 days outside of there and I got 1 demi atma lol

I went in OC and managed to get 2 and some other things so was less tedious. I do find the fates over really fast though and I just felt it was like rush rush rush and I hate that. I did manage to do some CE and they where fun but trying to get to a fate before its over because players just want to rush is a bit annoying. I have now bought the riding map so hoping that will make things a little easier for me.

Farming the atma outside was taking way longer and I must have maxed out on gems and the shared fates.

It's dead content, unless you want to run FT.

It was really busy last night and I am wanting to work on getting a relic weapon so hoping it stays busy and I enjoy the treasure chests :) It would have been fun to have to find a lock combination like in FFXI but maybe players would have hated that lol

Not really. There's always going to be some new players who want to start the DT relic steps after a long break and others who want to do the OC specific achievements along with those who want to farm the glams, upgraded gear, big ship mount, fortune carrots, silver/gold chests, and various PJ that'll be added in the future too. I know I'm on aether but it's often crowded around the camp as we're all waiting for the CE to start up.

The biggest strike against OC is that we can not level our characters there. I know they want us to do that in the deep dungeon but that really is not my cup of tea. I’d rather have leveled my alt jobs in OC but as I can’t, I don’t know when or if I will at this point.

There's so many ways to level jobs already that almost every single activity will give exp to alt jobs. I liked this OC since I could play my maxed jobs and get decent gear upgrades for alt jobs too.

No idea. I'm there every day and don't have any problem you just mentioned lol It's not even remotely close to "dead content" like others here are trying to say.
