Error 0 - Forbidden
Everything was fine, I logged out of the game, then I logged back in an hour later and got this message.
Error systeme ( 0 ) - Unknown
Forbidden

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
i rebooted my wifi box, rebooted my laptop also.
If someone already had this issue, please help me.
Thank you.

Exactly the same issue and tried the same things. Works on other laptop, but not my main one.

I am also getting this. Was fine a few hours ago and now I get system error 0 and the forbidden text.
Steam user here if that matters.
Launch steam - select to launch FFXIV
The FFXIV launcher loads but as soon as it does a dialog with the title "FFXIV Launcher" states A system error has occurred: 0. Unknown
Only option is to click OK
Launcher then has in place of the UserID Password TOP fields -
Forbidden

This is before I have even keyed in UserID, password etc.

I have rebooted
I have restarted my router - it's 5G
I have even used an alternative service provider sim in the 5G router just in case that was the issue
As this seems to be impacting several people I suspect it is something I am unable to resolve through these normal methods.
******* ADDITIONAL + WORKAROUND *******
If I navigate to Documents / My Games and then manually rename FFXIV_BOOT.cfg to FFXIV_BOOT.cfg.old then launch FFXIV I have to key in account details and am able to launch the game. However as soon as the game is exited and launched again the error 0 happens. This renaming of the FFXIV_BOOT.cfg may be a workaround for those who need it but it has to be done each time it seems.

Not using Steam for FFXIV , so nothing to do with that.

A friend of mine is also having this issue so if any of you find out what the issue is please repost.
-
I am having the same issue. I was fine last night, then I tried logging in, and it gave me that error.
-
It was fine yesterday, but I have the same issue today. Tried reboot and verified game files and didn't work. If anyone knows the issue please help. Thank you.
-
I'm getting this same error, but I haven't touched the game in a week and I had no issues back then. I tried reinstalling the game, and it still gave me this error.
-
Same, no problem logging in yesterday, now I Can't log in...

My friend has the same problem, you can "quick fix" it by deleting the "FFXIV_BOOT.cfg" files in "Documents/My Games/FFXIV" with the launcher closed, then starting it again, then you'll have a "fresh" launcher and can connect, but once she did, she tried closing it and opening again and the problem was back... for those who really need to connect while waiting for the square enix launcher fix, i guess it's a problem on their side or idk why so many ppl would randomly have this issue out of nowhere the same day anywhere in the world :D

I'm experiencing the same problem.
Last evening it worked just fine, I even ran a Windows 11 update right before I logged into FF14. Played for a bit and logged off just fine, no warning, no issues back then.
Now I want to log back in on my laptop and I get the same notification as you all do.
Funny thing is, I could log into my account on my sister PCs. We go online via the same router so I doubt it has something to do with the internet connection when I can log in on her PC without any problems.

I deleted all browser history from my Microsoft Edge browser, since I think FFXIV's launcher uses this browser. Also I went to "Settings" in Microsoft Edge, then "System and Performance" -> "System" and toggled "Use graphics acceleration when available" option off (since it was on on my laptop) and back on, followed by restarting the browser to apply the changes.
After that I was able to log into FF XIV again without any problems.
I'm not sure if the graphic acceleration thing is necessary to do or if this is just a coincidence.
Also no guarantee these steps will help everyone here, but it won't hurt trying either :) Just wanted to say, this might be a solution for some.

I tried to follow this but my Windows 11 machine had nothing in relation to Internet Explorer so I decided to just delete the cache etc from Edge and that seems to have worked.
