Hello again, it's me Rokien! So with Reinheart's translation, my initial worry was correct!

Hello again, it's me Rokien! So with Reinheart's translation, my initial worry was correct!
"Yes, when you first reach a area by following the “!” (Exclamation mark) it leads to another ! We are currently making those links."
don't follow the !. Problem solved
Man, you used to put out good topics, but your latest album feels uninspired...
But it's still a conversation point that will build steam ... so it's not like that album that's universally embarrasing to all its fans, it's just not up to par with the better stuff, ya know?
Don't look on the map for the !, and just find them yourself.
Or even better, since no one cares, don't post threads that... no one cares about
Well, it's still a decent point though.
... if normal mobs aren't exp worthy, and exp is gained from quests...
Then we kinda got to follow the quest line {Hmm...}
I am a bit concerned ... i guess the idea is that these !'s will eventually lead to group dungeons,
then you use the content finder to participate in them... But it's the other stuff that will divide this from a ! mark chase i guess ... Chocobo raising, free companies, Crystal Tower, Gold Saucer are all the kind of things that are not strictly ! chase grind questing... although they may have ! marks...
It`s just that most MMOs fall into this ! trap to begin with.
All I can say is, yay! And when tired with following the "!" I'll wander off the tracks and explore the environments, do repeatables, help my friends and make new ones, craft. . . . Oh sorry, I think I've derailed.
What is this ! you people speak of? The ASCII form of the new grass?
Didn't you already make an "on rails" thread?
Exciting, I love Ruby on Rails.
tbh I would like to have NPC have ! over there heads.. I honestly don't wanna go around in circles trying to find a quest like in FFXI where there was none not to mention in FFXI they also didn't "exactly" tell you what to do.. you had to figure it out with a " Vague" line or 2.
Also it's a huge turnoff to having to look all over creation to find said quest(s). and newplayers will be driven away by it if they didn't have ! over NPCs head. And whos to say FFXIV: ARR won't have Hard Quests?
And 99% of the people don't mind. Because they believe Yoshida to know what he is doing. So please, shut up until you get to play it, and then you can start complaining again.
Because technically, in Skyrim, you also can follow the ! all around the world. At least as far as the main story line goes.
Pretty sure they said they are even adding exp parties to the group finder and there is nothing stopping you from killing open world mobs or duoing. Hell, im sure you can still shout in Uldah if you wanna live in your little bubble of 2003.
They are totally getting rid of xp parties? Not even making it an option? I would rather xp grind w/ horrible penalties involved than be forced to follow the linear quest formula. So can I have confirmation they are getting rid of xp parties? I do remember reading some crap about questing xp I just didn't think they were going to abolish our ability to choose.
Rokien Vision v1.0- Hasn't been updated since 2001!
Sorry but they are getting rid of exp parties.
"Completing the quests, getting rewards, huge experience points, or completing a dungeon and getting experience points, that's going to be the key thing to level up your character, not like at the moment where you have to do monster camping or farming, that's not going to work in 2.0."

"that's not going to work"
"NOT GOING TO WORK"
It's probably true. I read that killing quest mobs wouldnt give much exp while on the quest, and killing non exp mobs wouldnt give good exp either, and most exp comes from quest rewards. Hence, quest is most efficient and most practical way to level. I think they purposely designed it so only quest gives good exp. From what theyve said in translations anyway.
