This horse has been beaten- please update old Ultimates with new job weapons

I love this game, i really do, and ultimate's are so cool, but I can not get the motivation to complete UCOB because it doesn't have a gunblade.

I am sure this has been beaten to death, but with the graphical update and retouching old gear I think it is the best time to bring this up. SE, when you update old gear like the dreadwyrm weapons, can you please add an equivalent weapon for those fights and the ultimate versions? Please keep it updated with new job releases? because it isn't for nothing, this is evergreen content, it'll be relevant forever, but new jobs which are the most popular their expansion, wont want to do old ultimate's without a proper reward.

I love the fight, it is designed so well, the theme for UCOB between the story and the music, the mood, its all perfect and the reason i played ARR when I heard the game was set in a world that was destroyed by bahamut (or thats what i thought at the time). I would love to do it and get a weapon for my favorite class, and UWU as well and i have many friends like dancers and reapers who would like the same.

I know you decided with all the jobs in this game, going back and updating every primal to have a weapon for everyone is to resource intensive etc, so can you please just keep the ultimate's updated? I am going through UCOB right now and GNB and it feels so bad knowing ill get every tank's weapon but my own.

You've prbably heard this all before but I wanted to through my 2 cents in. Thank you.

What grinds my gears is they did add new job weapons to the old raids that the Ultimate weapons are reskins of; Sage and Reaper got standard weapons for Thordon EX and Viper and Pictomancer got standard weapons for E12S.

I don't even DO Ultimates but it feels really wrong. Considering the older ones are still ball bustingly difficult after years of gear upgrades and level increases, seems like the least the devs could do to encourage everyone that wants to test themselves.

Considering they did this for TOP for the 2 new DT classes, there should be no reason they can't go back and correct the other ultimates. Ultimates are evergreen content and should at least get this love. This type of ask is very small IMO

They always do go back 1expac. But not two or three.

While it would be nice, I also wouldn't mind a head or glove piece or a mount from clear tokens. There could be items that are being obtained by 1 token from each ultimate etc.

Let's not gaslight people on the forums. TOP is the only time they've ever added the new classes to the weapons list. The most hilarious part of this is OP is asking for Gunbreaker (Shadowbringers) to be added to UCOB (Stormblood), but according to your logic, it was already in the game

Mmh, yeah I must have thought of savage gear, they do it for that. So you have alphascape gnb/dnc even if its shadowbringers job. But you won't find them for alexander savage. But you will find stormblood samurai and redmage weapons for it again. So 1 addon diff stays. Just not for ultimate.

Didn't Yoshi P specifically just address this? PCT and VPR are getting them soonest. The rest are in the pipeline.

Part me is thinking the game is in maintenance mode and running on bare minimum resources because they are working on FFXVIII. Thats my copium. And also why I think they are so slow.

And by XVIII I mean, the next MMO.

Traditional MMO are sadly too big risk nowadays. You are better off making mobile games... You can also wonder why there is no WoW 2 but FF14 Mobile in China with global release some day I guess.
The last years felt like value extraction mode, imagine they noticed they need to change again now, because players got finally too unhappy (boy, that took them long), but it is not like there wasn't enough feedback telling them that they are driving full speed against a wall.
The annoying part is, even if they change now, you won't see the results of it till the next 1-2 years probably. But if mobile becomes a success - then why even have a good core game? What do you think the next generation will play? They are all on their phone and press 1 button and are happy lol.

In their defense the mobile game looks fantastic and I might even play it instead of the core game depending on how BLM feels. I don't think mobile is the devil (]pending micro grift) when nowadays you can get a console/PC experience from it. Its a shame they could not make it themselves but, at least they know their own limits I guess.

As for the question of why, there literally has to be young ambitious creators in SE who eant to make their own FF world. Look at Rebirth/Hamaguchi. Maybe they need to stop making the same old guard do everything.
I don't really buy the "it's too expensive" thing that many successful IP devs push out, to be quite honest. New games, new MMOs are constantly being released. It seems to me its moreso a question of desire and confidence. In other words maybe it takes a large investment but they are worried it will not sell.

Just another thing to add to the list of things added to the game that are incomplete, or "were" incomplete if you think hats are fully fixed.

They're theoretically doing that already. But we'll never be able to catch up with 2 weapons per expansion, if they keep releasing 2 jobs as well. I know some people who expected more after the new TOP weapons, only to end up disappointed.
