The queue is quite long.
Even for the newest dungeon and trial.
But I'm only dead inside.
I feel the queue's are pretty fine! I don't really have any problems at all as a healer (but I do have all the healers already 100 and just queue for rolo's). As for Bozja, yeah that's pretty much dead right now because of the new Field Operation probably. I dont know if you are in Novice Network? But that might be a way to ask people to queue with you, or a FC. I guess most people are just playing lvl 100 content now D:
I regularly get lvl 90 and 100 duties in roulettes as healer on Light with minimal queue time. Do you definitely have all languages ticked?
Well, the game is EXTREMELY DEAD because:
1. DT msq not good enough
2. NO FEAST REWARDS
3. NO STATUE EMOTES
4. NO CROSS REGION (people waiting for like 4-8 hours of QUEUE like a clown)
5. New released glamour looks terrible and not EDGELORD enough.
i dont think the game is dead, as long as there are thousands of people online and 100-200 pfs open every evening
I also never had trouble to get queue pops on light, even for old raids for khloes etc. Maybe add more languages to the dungeon queue, if you havent yet
I'm playing on Chaos, and my queues are never longer than 5-10 minutes even on DPS, so it's weird to hear that you can't fill in as a healer... what time do you play at, typically? The only time I wasn't able to find people right away was when I was online well past midnight or very early in the day. What trial are you trying to clear, specifically?
...okay, at this point it's evident that you're trolling.
Higher level duties are typically harder to get people for, because they are supplied by roulettes, and most people that queue for roulettes are much lower level than 80.
Bozja is dead primarily because it's old content. They are also more likely to be in the next zone, Zadnor, because it's better experience and other forms of points. We also had a new Field Operation release not long ago, so people that enjoy Field Operations are more likely to be in the new one at the moment.
I caught up on most of the new patch content during the free sub days. Queues felt dead majority of time, at all times of day, for all content. On Aether as well.
People are in denial if you genuinely think the game has not lost tons of players.
Queued for storm's crown as whm on light, 6:40pn. Popped in less than 60 seconds. You might just be unlucky.
the game isn't in it's best state at the moment, a lot of us aren't sure it ever will be again
Theres always a Trust system. Instant queue with no waiting time for msq dungeon stuff other than the trials that you have to queue for with other players. Tho idk what its like over there on EU but I always go with Trusts for instant queue lol (for dungeons and msq trials that supports Duty Support npcs)
I heard some Shb and EW trials can be a bit tricky atm, even on Light where I am - they are not included in the free trial, so less active players have access to them, and they are not the new stuff, that would be Dawntrail. That said, from my experience of playing since 2020, Trial queues tend to be a tough thing in general (that and non-current Alliance Raids aside from CT obviously). The rewards you get for trial roulette are fairly small, the regular ones don't drop loot one might farm them for, nor do you profit from doing them multiple times. When you are at endgame, you also have this tiny endgame tomestone cap you can reach fairly quickly, depending on what you're doing, so there isn't really a need to run roulettes 7 days a week unless you're leveling. (I admit I am in this last category, my tomes are capped, so I am part of the problem. ^^; )
There have been threads and suggestions for improving trial queues, like this one: https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...le-times-a-day
But at least this thread didn't get much attention. Doesn't know about others, but nothing about them has changed afaik, so...
I don't think its dead, but I have seen of a lot of people leaving lately (chaos side, anyway) since the launch of DT.
Queued as WHM on Chaos, 19:01 Server Time.
Duty popped at 19:02, so about a minute long wait.
That said, I do think they should consider cross-DC duty finder, at least within region, honestly. Especially during early prog in Savage, everyone is on Light, it's painful.
quick q to those who went to Light and still didn't get queue: do you have all languages enabled?
Check your Settings, if all Languages are enabled, because as Healer there shouldnt be a long queue, i even queued just for fun one of the older DT Trials and got a Group in 10 Min, so if you are not be able to get a group as healer there may be some setting issues
You can always ask in Novice Chat for help. Even if you won't get a full party, it will speed up the que times significantly.
At this point most serious players have already gotten everything to 100 and geared the jobs they wanna play so no reason to queue for stuff. The casuals have done the story and have no intention of playing anything else. You're unfortunately stuck waiting on the midcore players to pop the queues during a patch cycles downtime. That's just the issue with 1 patch every 4 months.
There is just simply not enough to keep people going. Stuff like Island Sanctuary and Space Exploration needs cut for actual repeatable content. This isn't Animal Crossing, and they need to stop pretending it is. If they want to start doing the all games in one strategy then they need a bigger team. It's not gonna work on drip feed.
Its a dripfeed problem. They dont have decent content to put good rewards into even if they came up with some.
Island sanc had so much potential to even replace player housing, but in lieu of that they a 100% made it so it would never compare. To keep subs going no doubt.
Space exploration aside from ruining the worldbuilding imo was just a repetitive boring activity in a very boring looking zone. I dont see how adding colorful alien trees will make it any better.
Theres a lot of old grinds, but a lot of them are ludicrous, like "play this one content 10 0000 times" its dreadful solo, most of the games MMO aspects are completely reliant on the players creating them if you think about group stuff.
They should add more QoL for that, more housing improvements, glamour improvements, FC improvements. Grand company improvements. Remove the exploration mode timer and add raids in. Make the world more alive with enterable houses. More character customization and longevity content
Also in the story for immersions sake, you need to make people attached to something. Much like the horde / alliance in WoW. People want to be apart of something. Even the Eorzean Alliance, whatever. Hell even the Scions are as loose as it gets of "are they or are they not".
Make the Eorzean nations make some damned moves in the story. Instead of being a blob of backup to call on.
The Game is declining yes, quite significantly so it seems. Just saw a video of SE's earnings call and it appears FFXIV in case of Players and/or earnings is down to Stormblood levels. The game is not Dead YET but if they keep going like this the Situation might become more dire.
When you were mentor for years, but then you are not interested to level every role to 100 anymore, so you lose your status - too bad, can't join mentor roulette and help people. Makes queues slower too.
I think the requirements are too demanding. And there is PvP mentor, for people who never did 1 match PvP in their life, lol
I would have liked a 2nd Mentor Roulette for trials or ex trials specifically even. Way more fun than just leveling dungeons.
But I guess you fellow players can suffer in queue instead of devs making mentor status more easy to get, enjoy!
Like... genuinely... this is the requirements?
Battle Mentor Requirements
Complete Role Quests: Finish the current expansion's role quest lines for Tank, Healer, and at least one DPS role.
Complete Duties: Complete 1,000 instanced duties (dungeons, raids, or trials).
Earn Commendations: Receive 1,500 player commendations.
So... I'm confused? How easy do you want it to be? Lol
I hope you got your queue pop, OP. If you're still struggling with it, I can gather some people and we can try our hand at it for faster queues.
I personally haven't had issues filling roulettes, EXs (most of the time) or unreals (takes a bit sometimes, but it ends up filling usually) in our lovely dead DC known as Chaos, so I doubt it was anything more than a particularly unlucky weekend. It is possible that another game's update just came out, or people were more into other things during that time.
I am not fully sure, but I vaguely remember reading that your ticked languages no longer influence your queue times. I think it just queues you with whoever nowadays, but again, I am not fully sure. I only have English ticked myself and I've been queued with people who literally can't understand English. Made me pull out Google Translate in UWU to explain the mechanics to them. lol (EDIT: This was a PF, but PFs also have ticked languages, which I think default to your own that you set in your search info. Nothing stops anyone from joining a PF or, I am assuming, a roulette with players who don't match your ticked languages)
I don't want to do quests and leveling for all 3 roles. Should be enough to have the other roles at lvl 50 or something. Like what is there really sooo new that I need to experience the fight on said role to be able to talk about it? While reality is anyway, that I will play PvP to level these classes to 100 and never play them in PvE. So what does it matter in the first place? I am just forced to level them and do quests I do not care about, so I can do some mentor roulettes. But the system rather downgrades me to sprout, because I didn't do mainstory lol. I think the downgrades should happen after 20 levels story difference maybe not 10level. You have ultimate raiders, solo deep dungeon guys, and other hardcore people lose mentor, because they took a break from the game, instead of being able to help real newbies.
You can get them fast in PvP, I have over 10k, but I am sprout because I didn't play dawntrail. Idk why mentor needs all mentor dutys unlocked. Like 200 dutys unlocked, but you really need all 202 dutys to be able to queue. There should be a cutoff at like 75% duties unlocked, you can go mentor roulette already.
I get that it can be frustrating, but you don’t actually need mentor status to help newbies—mentor status just formalizes it and gives you access to Mentor Roulette. If what you really want is easy access to Mentor Roulette and the mount that comes with it, then… the solution is simple: do the work. That’s literally what the system is designed for. If they changed it or made it even "easier" than it is, everyone would be able to do it. Yeah sure getting commendations as DPS might seem harder since the majority seem to commend tanks or heals, it's not impossible.
I don't know man, helping people vs complaining that mentor is too difficult to obtain... kinda wild.
No, one DPS job, any role (melee, phys ranged, magic ranged), is enough.
Once you do 1K duties, this requirement is done forever (until they update the requirements).
Once you get 1.5K commendations, this requirement is done forever (until they update the requirements).
So it is only asking you to level 3 jobs, one of each role in the trinity, and do your role quests. Nothing more. I'm afraid it doesn't get any easier than this...
I don't like the mount, my previous reply was about having easy access to a way to join potentially in progress duties. You can't easily get into arr ex trials by roulette after all, you would have to check them manually and see if it pops. And well you quickly are at the 5 duty limit when selecting, so its bothersome, instead of having just one roulette button to check it. Normal trials are too easy, leveling is too boring, alliance raids often too easy - because only the lvl50 ones pop mostly. So the only roulette that offers semi difficult content was mentor roulette.
I did do the work several times, in past addons, I just don't feel like you have to constantly keep up with literally all duties to keep the roulette. Mentor becomes more like a "be subbed" role then, instead of really about game knowledge.
Because that's what it's supposed to do? Newbies are constantly thrown into new battles, and thus when a new expansion launches, we ALL are thrown into new battles. Granted, they might be easier for us simply due to the time spent playing this game and knowing how most mechanics work. It's still new duties. New duties you have to go through and learn in order to teach someone else said duty, or at the very least half ass guide them through it or flame them through it, whichever is preferred. So no, you do have to constantly keep up with all duties to keep the roulette. And I say this as someone who did in fact not do all current required duties for mentor roulette, despite having done so in the past. I can get access to this when I do the duties. Simple as that. Giving people free access to this diminishes the achievement tied to it.
Well, I am not asking for a shortcut into duties I haven't unlocked yet. I just wanna keep playing the duties I already unlocked in a roulette, which was perfectly fine some months ago, but now it isn't because they added X more duties to the total massive pool?
Why is it an issue to keep playing lvl1-90 mentor roulettes, it is not like they will be much easier or less time consuming. Why do I have to do the job quest, they don't unlock skills anymore anyway?
I guess it made sense when you only had lvl 60 with a smaller number of dungeons etc. but as the game becomes older you will get more and more people with different story progression.
Why would it diminish the achievement? Is a mentor who got 100 clears on lvl1-80 less valuable than a mentor who did lvl1-90? Not really huh.
I would also want to go directly savage instead of spoilering myself the fight in normal mode. It is just another one of these artificial limitations that you need to pass first.
