Adding a sprinting feature maybe?

I always thought sprinting would be a cool thing to have in this game. There could be a limit on it so your not abusing it but if i'm being chased by a monster it would be more exciting if I could run a little faster to get away from it than the same pace all the time. If chocobo's could dash it would make friendly racing with friends a little more fun.

What do you guys think? Too much? It might be interesting to see.

You actually allready run faster than most monsters. Just FYI.

Well monks have Fists of Wind and Bard have swiftsong so for the other jobs/classes to be able to sprint a certain amount before having to recharge is nothing I would complain about.

Hmm kinda thought we had that with archer and mnk abilities. but if your talking about somthing that runs off of a stamina aspect, then I would say that would likely be too much , considering you can call mounts when ever you like, no cool down on calls, it would put added stress on the UI, I would say they likely wont give us somthing like that on those reasons alone, much less the abilites we do have, fact that anima is stupid easy to refill these days , you have free atherite ports in towns, would have to say transportaion is of no real concern or issue. Now to say a charge feature wouldnt be cool , would be a lie, but would also be very impractical other then use of making fraps films and such , much like any other emote. would be an exciting little emote to see, but overall , impractical.

That is true. I forget sometimes I can port to about anywhere instantly. -_-

Oh well just a thought. I assumed it would be too much for the UI to handle with what we already do have.

I've seen it used in some MMORPGS's like Age of Conan, but I don't think it's really needed here (I don't hate the idea though). If we ever get thief (or something like it) you could give them flee I guess. Instead of speeding the character animation up you could give that increased speed an actual sprinting animation.

Now choco dash seems more apt for this game. Wouldn't it be a cool feature to raise your chocobo to have access to a sprint? It would just be a trade off really, some chocobo's run quickly, some at a steady pace, and others quickly in short bursts... hmmm... Chocobo racing at the Gold Saucer anyone?

Honestly, I feel more movement speed works better than just a flatout sprint function xD We already have a few forms of it, so more can't hurt :o

Dont take this the wrong way , but , although I do not hate the idea , "it cant hurt" way of thinking is what causes games to become stagnat. Wrather then saying "it cant hurt" should be asking "what would make it better" offering aspects to a game that already exist or would offer no real improvment would essentually be a waste of development time and UI. Again, Im not trolling on you just saying, its the wrong direction of thinking this game needs , IMO. But, to each their own I suppose.

Don't forget Hermes' shoes, although the effect fades when attacked.
