Character customization and more RP choices suggestions

Here are some of my suggestions if Character customization would ever get a rework

• More body sliders:
-Height
-Muscle
-Arms/Hands
-Shoulders/Waist/Hip ratio. or a selection menu. Like hourglass shape, Rectangle, Pear shape ect.
-Butt
-Breast
-Leg/Feet

• More options:
Separate things from faces like:
-Horns
-Clan marks
-Ears
-Hairs

• Remove ‘face’ option and let us select every option from all faces. OR create more face diversity. Its weird that Male Midlander's have like 6 face options while most have only 4.

• Unlock all face tattoo’s and other racial options (like mole’s, scars) and let you have 5 options on max if they don’t want to let people have all the options all at once.

• New options: Like more beards, Scars, Tattoo's
• Body tattoos/scars/freckles or Clan marks

• Multiple face markings. So people can do something like Blush and Freckles at the same time.

• Race specific:
-More shades for Au’Ra scales. Rean: Bone white to complete white. Xeala: Blue to Black.
-Make Hrothgar male hunch a toggle
-Separate hair highlights from fur pattern colour on Hrothgar
-More ear options or a slider for Miqo'te and Hrothgar.
-Viera ear wiggle's / Female miqo'te ear wiggles

• Let us choose a specific idle face.

• More Idle poses/Sitting poses/ Laying down poses/ Battle stance poses (like you can choose male and female stances for every job)

• More choices for emotes. Like different emotes for a 'Happy' personality and a 'Calm' one or 'Grumpy' one.

Multiple face paints sounds like so much fun. I agree with all of this. I do know limbal rings are 'cosmetic' so having that option on everyone would be really neat. Same with different colored sclera.

I'm really hoping we get better hairstyles too, short of 'bold and braid' I've admittedly not really liked the new ones coming out (this is a matter of preference though ofc). There's not many options that look nice (admittedly again this is just my opinion).

Yeah totally true. Idk if they would ever make limbal rings for all races tho? Since it's more Au'ra specific. Scelra would be cool for every race, I think only male Xeala Aura have that? Its wierd that Female Xeala Aura doesn't have that.

I think some hairstyles are allright coming out. I like the COD hair and the Hilda hair. That hair on the picture of the Alliance raid picture during the PLL isn't available yet but it does look really adorable to have....

Its kinda a hit or miss with Hairstyles aswell, Especially that you'd have to guess which ones will clip and how much they will clip D:

I'd like it if picking the twelve was optional, so I don't have to have a deity.

Body tattoos should be a thing already considering so many pieces of gear already have them as part of their design. I don't care if they are locked behind manuals like eyewear or hairstyles, give me unlockable body tattoos! The majority of modern games with customizable options generally have a plethora to pick from during the creation process...

Can we please get equal skin tone options across all races? This kind of visual segregation makes no sense.

Why can't I play a Keeper of the Moon with a warm white-tan skin tone? Why is that look only available to Keepers of the Sun, while Moon Keepers are stuck with pale or albino-looking options? And don't say it's because of "moon vs sun", if that were the case, Moon Keepers shouldn't be able to walk around in daylight. But they clearly have darker blue and melanin-rich skin tones, which proves they can handle sun exposure. Since melanin increases with sun exposure, there's no reason to restrict skin tones by race. Every skin tone should be available to every race. Stop limiting players based on arbitrary visuals.

While we're at it, what's going on with the eyes? You're making it so Sun Miqo'te can't see at night, and Moon Miqo'te are basically blind during the day. All Miqo'te and cat-like races should have the same eye structure, either slitted or round, or better yet, code it so their eyes adapt to day and night like lamps do. It would make way more sense and actually reflect their feline traits.

Also, who decided Sun Miqo'te don't have fangs? That makes the least sense of all. Fangs are a core part of their identity and biology. Removing them for one clan feels arbitrary and unnecessary.

And please don't use "lore" as an excuse. That's what clan marks are for. There are better ways to distinguish clans than limiting skin tones, fangs, or eye shapes. Real-world tribes and clans don't work like that visually. These features should be customizable for roleplay, not locked by race.

Why can't Moon Miqo'te have a clanless face option? Let players choose how they want their character to look without being boxed in by outdated presets.

Also, for Au Ra, if red and green skin is an option, then red and green scales and horns should be too. It’s a simple fix that would make customization more consistent and inclusive.

Glad to see everyone wants more character customization

More casual emotes to make your character more expressive.
Cooking, knitting, drinking wine etc and make them CYCLE

The game is due more character customization. I don't think this game can last if 8.0 repeats the same formula of "New dungeons, new extremes, exciting msq" we need something that is tangible, something that is a WOAH factor like new gameplay - customization - anything that isnt just repeat repeat repeat.

And please OPEN UP MORE BUILDINGS for npcs, so we can also interact with houses in the world and cities. I'm tired of seeing shut doors everywhere and fake houses that have no inside. ITS LAZY

Female Seeker and Keeper have only three faces, because the only difference between face 1 and 3 is the clan marks. I think that a bunch of new face options should be a priority.

All of have such good points! The skin tone is so true, I hadn’t even thought about it when I wrote this but so true! I was moon miqote for a bit because I liked the round eyes and fangs but the skin tones are not what I am looking for! I just want a more tanner skin tone without it looking grey-ish.

And so true about the Au’ra skin colors and scales aswel.

And only 3 faces for miqo 😱 That’s actually crazy. I didn’t even realize

Yes pls. 100% we need this. I also want all hair unrestricted. Male and female, all races. All of it. So many new and cool options. And its not lore breaking since everyone can wear their hair the way they want.

I support removing racial barriers and allowing users to apply multiple facial features, moles, makeup, etc. without using mods.
(However, this does not include users using perverted mods.)

I'm not a mod user, and in fact I'm against mods, but I'd like to see moles under the eyes of Elezen men.

On Japanese forums, there were several positive comments about the monthly fee increase. For example, they cited issues with graphics updates, an increase in the number of parts, and bug prevention.

(Prices in Japan have skyrocketed due to a significant tax increase, but FFXIV's price has remained the same for many years, and it is believed that a lack of manpower due to a lack of budget is causing problems from 7.0 onwards.)

Maybe they should stop focusing on their sideprojects then and pool their funds into a proven method, when FFXIV is successful, they get money.
At this point it's like they are taunting the playerbase with how much they will take before leaving, including the latest "Ooops, we need to delay housing additions" "Ooops chat bubbles only take a few sentences and then cut off" "Oops hroth and viera can only wear a certain amount of hats"

Keeper face 1 and 3 are entirely different with 1 having a more "derpy" look and 3 being more Sun seeker 3.

Seeker face 1 and 3 are also different in the area of the eyes and mouth. 3 has more of an eternal smile and looks more anime cat like.

The character creator is long since overdue for updates.
I truly hope the character creator gets more attention in 8.0.
I also want to ask for more backgrounds in the creator like an Ishgard snowfield so that we not only have warm areas.

I feel the same way. I also want more options and not go to mods for them. I also don't want to use mods to customize my character more.

I also feel like a increase in monthly fee WOULD be great IF they actually put the money back into FFXIV instead of other projects. Like making more of a budget for faster content schedule's, More changes, More cosmetics and more/better rewards. Yes Yoshi P said they would up the rewards in 7.0? But I haven't really noticed it to be honest. Also I know they have a staff shortage but it would be better to actually try and advertise maybe outside or Japan? Probably a lot of people would love to work for FFXIV but don't speak Japanese, Like maybe they can look for people who 'might' be willing to move to Japan and give them a Japanese course with the job. (But I don't really know that kind of stuff works)

As a Seeker of the Sun male miqo'te, I'd love the option to have blackened ears for all hairstyles and not just a scattered few.

I'd say like the mobile version give our armor sets 16 dye channels.

with hairs split the parts of the hairs so that we can mix and match the pieces.
I'd be more than willing to sacrifice hats for more hairs.

some boss physics could be applied to gear like the old cape that Odin had in urth's font

I'd also love to see more Miqo'te ear options. And more tail options.... Maybe dog ears/tail???? :3
Or that blackend ears are also a option as ear not hair option.
Or something like a option to get highlight tips on the end of the ears

And also let Viera choose if the want highlights at the end of the ears or not....

With hrothgar I'd also like to choose between the black tail tips or maybe that the tips are like your hair/highlight colour.

Definitely in favour for the extended body sliders. I just want sliders that actually do something on my Lalafell!

Totally agree. I don’t play lalafell but the only slider that works is height and ears xD. But most put them those to 0,50 or 100 anyway xD

An overhaul to face customization would be very nice. Not just for my character or that of others... but for all the generic NPCs who may end up looking more varied/unique because of it.

The one with absurd request for character customization definitely Mod User :)

How so? I don't use mods, but what I do look at other mmo's like ESO, GW2 and they have much more choices in customization that I also would like to see in this game.

Oh one cool thing I would LOVE to see is more jewelry, like intricate earrings for Elezen, Miqo, or Viera ears. Maybe some horn decorations (and tails?) for auri. Also...tails for viera please x.x

But, on that - things like face piercings would also be really neat.

I just want more colour choices for my Hrothgal. Like, I can live with the limited hair styles. I can live with the oversized sleeves (because those muscles need to be shown off anyway), but I really want her to be a fierce orange tigress with fiery hair.

Oh and can we have a fluffy tail option for Hrothgar in general? I miss my fluffy Miqo'tail.
