I guess removing a server full of subs is your best move youve done this expansion
At least release SOME content now, or you just planned on another 3-4 months of litteraly nothing again?

This is what you get for clogging up Bismarck.
And no there will be no content.
?
Is this in reference to something?
Crystal DC isn't any different today than it was yesterday, the day before that, or the day before that
who knew patch 7.3 can be even more dead than it is
lol. I see what ya did there
People in Crystal DC don't do content.
Staying permanently afk in Uldah sharing "mare codes" isn't helping the community who does content on daily basis.
This thread is reference to an illegal third-party tool (“Mare Lamentorum”) used to facilitate piracy of Square Enix intellectual property, which has been taken down by Square Enix via legal action. Some players are dissatisfied with the legal document (“Final Fantasy XIV User Agreement”) that they agreed to upon registering for a service account, and wish to contravene its terms. However, there is no sign that Square Enix will revise the User Agreement to allow illegal third-party tools.
I do content on Bryn.
well thats false but also you dont look smart just because you write like that lol.
Keep hateing until dalamud is gone too and say bye bye to your game :clown:
(The game lacks an insurmountable amount of QoL features alone, they are stuck far too far in the past)
The piracy is that some people sell screenshots of their characters for real world monetary gain. Among other things but I'm not going to wall-of-text all of it with an elaboration of what each one is. You have one perfectly valid, true example right here. Take it.
Maybe I'll be able to get a house now
I think (could be wrong) that it has something to do with the new UK/EU age verification laws.
If FFXIV has this kind of stuff available (I know its not through SE but we know lawmakers don't distinguish X and Y or connect dots) then that may push the game into the classification of "rather mature content - age verification is required".
Yes, Mare is piracy since you can share visual items with other players and not just custom items, but also items from the MogStation Store (that are paid) without paying for them. And what is piracy if not accessing and sharing paid content for free?
Plus, Mare generates an unfair advantage on top of the MogStation store, since people can simply get custom items that are judged to be way cooler than the MogStation store items and not just use them but make them visible to other players.
I believe you're wrong here because taking down Mare doesn't change the fact that people can still use mods and make those screenshots, because the main plugins that install those mods in the game are still available and untouched, the only thing that changes with the removal of Mare is that players can't see the modded version of other players live anymore, so most RPers that rely on mods are frustrated because their ERP is thingy is over
Dynamis TWO
I see what you are saying, that makes sense. I didn't realize the bit about Mogstore items. But afaik and what I heard the creator hasn't posted the C&D letter. There is a lot of speculation on why but that's speculation.
But most people actually do RP I see them quite a bit out beyond the Quicksands in Balmung and other servers on Crystal you know actually roleplaying not the ERP stuff. I think I sat one night just reading the RP adventure which you really don't see on other DCs. 30 minutes well spent honestly. And honestly it feels the ERP is from people visiting Crystal.
As I tried to experience the roleplay scene myself bringing my character as a Tarot Reader to venues, I met a lot of players, mainly male characters, approaching me and looking for other types of services ERP to be precise. While I know there is genuine RP because I participated in a lot of them, I also know that the gooning are the ones crying the most about this. Also I can say that all the RPs I've seen that were not ERP didn't need any mods to be played mainly because most of what it's described in RPs not even mods can reproduce so it's usually to the players' imagination. So if you're looking for those genuine RPs why not using your imagination along with tthe game elements like we do in D&D and other tabletops?
The Mogstore argument is nonsense btw.
Mare is, as many have said just a mod that lets other users of that mod see your visual mods of your character. It has nothing to do with Mogstation items "for free".
That's an entirely different one,
that said I know a few RPers and they buy Mogstore stufflike crazy cause,
according to them,
many popular outfit mods work on basis of Mogstore items.
I have seen them so often wearing the latest Mogstore stuff, even the insultingly priced 42 bucks glam set the same day it released.
And as I do not use Mare I know that was the "real deal".
If anything I'd even argue they buy Mogstore stuff like crazy and more than the usual player.
After all everything for them is their looks.
People would rather defend mogstore than having something for free. Because hey, how can those whales spend their cash on new cat mount and now nobody will see it because they use plugins... not fair!!!
imagine if C&D was actually fake and SE gets heat for no reason xD
oh, grow up. sounds like you're just mad because your catgirl can't have assets the size of blimps.
I can see why for using it for genuine RP, creating a character that goes beyond the character creator. I know this something the community has been wanting for a long time and SE has failed to listen on this. People want their character's to be unique. But honestly, the upscales I seen of the vanilla armor and weapons would be a reason I reckon and other lore friendly armors and such out there.
But its a visual game complete with emotes and locations so I can somewhat understand why it would be use. I am a person that is, asides from the possibility of using things off the mogstation without paying for it, if it makes a game more enjoyable for those players have it. That's my take. But I get where you are coming from as well.
As a long time RPer on a Crystal server (since the start of ARR) honestly this might improve the RP scene in the long run. The datacenter was already "ruined" by all the ERP night club gooners with their massively inflated body parts from mods junking up a lot of public RP venues.
On the plus side the huge sub drop this will cause might light a fire under squares butt
Madame president, a second moon has hit the Quicksands, I repeat, a second moon has hit the Quicksands.
This just means people who have been perpetually locked out of certain servers will finally be able to make a character.
Balmung has been locked down for how long now?
Dawntrail so bad it killed ERP.
