MMORPG.com tidbit.. thought i'd share.

So, I was reading over at MMORPG.com and read this.. now I thought 2.0 was supposed to be roughly towards the end of this year but..what do you guys take from this paragraph.

"Personally, I'm still a little leery of the proceedings but there's a slight glimmer of hope nestled in my cynical heart. While we were leaving, I turned to one of the many Square Enix representatives that thronged the presentation and asked, off-handedly, 'Any idea of when the relaunch is going to be will be?'
“Next year! We're still figuring that out. You know, we want to get it right. I think it'd be earlier rather than later. I don't think we'll go as late as Christmas or anything like that but we want to get it right. Obviously, the first time we put out the game, it wasn't… ready so, this time around, it has to be right.”

So...NOT as late as Christmas, next year?

Yeah pretty much -- being overly cautious.

i think the game will come out one day. and when it does, people will play it.

But i want it naw.

I would think... "PROBZ NOT AS LATE AS CHRISTMAS HUR DURR"... like a joke maybe or sarcasm.... hard to tell with just text.

It's worth noting that ARR "Re-launch" =/= the Beta where we will purportedly have our characters sooner or later.

I haven't wanted a game to come out this badly since Netdevil/Codemasters trolled the Jumpgate Evolution community to hell and back.

the launch there talking about is the retail relaunch. You know for those dirty common people... or was it sensible people. I cant tell any more.

So then the question is. If we get beta in winter, does beta last until retail? or are we going to be swapping between beta and current. :\

During his time onstage at Gamescon, Yoshi P said that the Alpha test would be this autumn and the Beta test would come in winter. So official launch will be after that... possibly early next year if there isn't too much delay after the Beta closes?
