My pros and cons on Occult Crescent

Pros.
Coming from FF 11, The relic grind is quite enjoyable.

Find random chests around the map is cool. Wish we had that in the open world as well.

CE and fates - they are actually fun for once.

Cons.
The zone - The zone it self feels flat and boring. I get no danger at all. Doesn't feel special at all

Phantom jobs - I personally find them to be a wack gimmick.

Our companions - what a missed opportunity to make our companions feel useful for once.

Not a single voice acting... come on yoshyP you guys add mad stuff to the cash shop and make millions and you telling me you can't afford more voice overs?? Something fishy is going on

I feel like the zone itself is fantastic in terms of aesthetics and organisation (the amdapor and mhach regions in particular are fantastic) the only problem is that knowledge levels so damn fast only the deep skalan caves and the ascent of Karnak are ever dangerous for more than 10 minutea

Zone needs random level 30 sleeping dragons laying in thin pathways and huge drops off cliffs to access caves. Put some sleeping dragons on those ledges too.

The zone is like a watered down eureka made by devs who had nothing to do with and were told nothing about bojza. That's it's biggest con.

The only downside i personally see is the fact it cant be used like Bozja to level Jobs, thats a straight up missed opportunity and really sad

Pros: The zone is pretty and the Critical Engagements, on the whole, are quite enjoyabe.

Cons: No XP. I will never stop complaining about this. It also means the moment the first big wave of players get their first relic, it's going to be dead content. The Phantom Jobs feel mostly quite underwhelming. Demiatma RNG is dumb - I don't mind a grind, I hate an unfair grind.

How exactly are the Fates "fun" when they don't exactly last. the only time you see any mechanics for a Fate are when there is CE going on, then it's roughly 10 people struggling to kill something with trillion HP.
I can't bring any of my friends to this place now because they don't have riding map yet and they never make it to the Fates on time. the whole community is gate keeping new players because they refuse to wait 1min, for what?

Three things:

One, you can always build Silver Coins through Critical Engagements, and you can always make to them in time.

Two, multiseat mounts are a thing, in fact OC gives one which is also, in my opinion, the best airship mount they ever done, and with macros for joining making the process quick, you can pretty handily carry them around.

Three, I get that even with those points it can be frustrating, but it is also very rarely "the whole community", if 3 people out of 72 are assholes, then they will drag the rest along, it's the same deal with one person in an Alliance Raid being too impatient to let a newbie watch a 30s cutscene, and the one asshole is able to pull 20+ people in, because people aren't able to think why the fight started, only that it did.

This, leveling was for me the biggest part about Bozja.

OC having no leveling makes the entire area pointless for me.

oh please, its not like there arent enough fates, and tbh the fates arent even worth the grind, CE are giving way way more exp and im not talking about a 10% increase, the last time i checked a fate it gave me 4k exp while a CE gave 21k and its not like bozja so CEs are spawning all the time non stop, the fates event require some monster farming like in eureka and dont have a cooldown so sorry to tell you but its not worth it to wait

and btw the complain "player are gatekeeping new players" isnt working here either since everyone was new in there and none frome day 1 did wait

Don't need more danger solo in the open world, no one to rez you and I do not want to lose points everytime I die w/o a rez. I would never play it.

Yeah like you mention i like the scenery of the map.

The frequent CE, so if you just missed one it will not be a long wait

The good mob density, and able to mount at the very beginning. A great step forward from Eureka given now you have to run to the CE spot to join.

Phantom job is still my biggest complaint, it lack the versatility we have in older Field
Operations, defensive and healer phantom job have a long CD or not limited availability making running FATE/CE with squashy job very unfun. (My BLM could just die by two raid wide AOE without making any mistake in that fight)

One, you're just saying "deal with it" basically. they are not allowed to do fates until they do CE, bit backwards.

two, yes multiseats exist true, which we have tried a few times and sometimes our coordination is off and we both miss it still since the window to get to the fates is still within seconds.

Instead of just saying the new players should find a way around it, the fates should be adjusted since the community think they are not in the wrong.

They claimed that it was to avoid OC overshadowing the deep dungeon, but if it's like Orthos, I don't see people spending a ton of time in it instead of just dungeon spamming from Limsa or their house.

expierence and silver, mainly silver being the problem here since it is required to get the riding map. sure it only takes 15 CE's to get enough for the riding map but the fates can help alleviate grind.

not worth waiting 10-20 seconds? are you serious?.. forgot i am talking to NA players as well.. impatient much

well bozja overshadowed orthos and it was content from the expansion before, putting exp in FO is just broken bozja being the best way to lvl from 71-90 is just too strong.

My favorite part was making nearly 10 mio Gil from loot drops in the first three days, then the loot went completely downhill and I don't even feel like looking for loot anymore. Sure, MAYBE I could find a twirl or a parasol, but I will probably just buy it off MB at some point.

But in all honesty, it was good to have some content that I could explore with my FC. We need more content to do with friends, content that does not require to be in a party with exactly 4 or 8 players.

Sorry to tell you but im EU Player, and dont blame NA or EU Player on something which is a personal matter for you

20s each fate 3 fates = 1 min, 30 fates = 10 min wasted in 10min i could already do another 3 fates with the current spawnrate, sorry to tell you but when i grind i grind with speed and try to be as much efficient as possible, and btw i reached every fate so far in time without even buying the riding scroll because i wanted the gear for the dmg increase first, so instead of complaining maybe tell your friends to act faster

Pros:
- I've actually enjoyed being around larger numbers of players in one location again. I find it quite nice to dash to a FATE or CE and be invited to a team without having to ask.
- Also nice to have something consistent to participate in rather than running back-to-back DF roulettes.
- Personally really like the new Glams too - particularly the Tycoon set.

Cons:
- As have said in a few posts in other threads, the Atma drop rate is appalling. I'll concede that the 'secondary' rewards are useful but to have so few Atma's to show for so many hours of playing this content is borderline insulting. It put me off even visiting OC initially and it was only deciding to focus more on Silver pieces than Atma that pushed me to return.
- Whilst I do like the CE's and FATES I do agree with those who've been saying that they often arrive at a FATE location to find it's already over. Though I'd guess that'll die down as more players complete their Relic weapons and Phantom jobs.

Likes: The CEs are fun. I like the Phantom Job system, some of the jobs are boring to me but they all have a use and mastering all of them gives me a clear goal to work on. I liked having a relatively grindy relic step, I wouldn't want to do that for every weapon but as a one-time thing it's fine.

Dislikes: The zone feels very small, there's no danger unless you go deep in the caves or up the tower. There are no environmental hazards or sleeping dragons to sneak around, and being able to return to the base camp at any time makes that the fastest way to get anywhere. The loop of FATE, CE, FATE, CE over and over where the FATEs die so fast you miss half of them, is getting very boring. There's no way to get gold pieces except to join a group farming mobs, which is also very boring. And Forked Tower: is making yet more content that only a tiny number of players will be able to do still a good use of dev resources?

Pros: I guess the zone is pretty enough, though how long you really spend on looking at it when...

Cons:.... it's pure mad dash from fate to another fate to CE and to fate again. I find it beyond irritating.
Grind in itself I would be fine with. Endlessly chasing other players to get one shot before fate dies is not fun for me.

Good thing I don't really care about relic glam (the design is mostly meh imo).
