[CE] On the Hunt

In Occult Crescent, the CE that has rotating and moving AoE telegraphs obviously doesn't work properly. I get hit even when I've been out of dodge for 2-3s. Asking around and it seems that everyone is reporting the same kind of problem.

I'd kindly ask the devs not to serve us that kind of things if their netcode, software or game isn't able to support it? Everything in this game has already turned into a gigantic DDR fiesta, as seen in those CEs, so if on top of it we actually do it right but still eat the AoE damage for no reason because the servers decided we deserved to eat it, it just feels extra bad.

but it works just fine in their zero ping tokyo based test environment.

Oddly enough, I did it better the first few times I did it then had the ping issues the next times.

wherever that rotating AOE turn red it's alway the safe spot, i never bother to follow it again since i know it, just run to first place it turn red

The way AOEs are handle in this game is terrible. Bad ping just makes it worse no matter how quick and observant you are.

Yep it never hits where it begins the countdown.

Snapshot doesn't feel noticeably more jank then usual to me, personally.

I just start moving with whatever AoE is counting down as one passes by.

i do feel snapshots in oc overall are worse than in other content

Not gonna lie, this single piece of advice made me go from "Yeah let me just take a nap while y'alls handle this, rezzing me is pointless" to being able to clear it with like 1, maybe 2 vul stacks, if I lock in.

I keep seeing people saying that the servers have been real bad lately and the latency is terrible.
I know for myself, I've experienced none of that. I've had 0 latency issues and no issues with this CE either.
Is it possible for servers to only be shitty if you don't meet a certain bandwidth threshold and it works fine if you do?
Or maybe location specific?
I feel like if it was the servers, then I should be impacted to. I'm no tech wiz so if someone could explain how that works, I would enjoy it :)

I play at 150 ping, because I am Brazilian, and I am doing fine, I firmly believe that the sole difference is how absurdly deadly CEs are compared to normal content, and that Vul Stacks don't expire means you can't simply make a recovery and go into downward spiral, it's not like normal when you can recover, so it is exposing people's skill issue way more than normal.

Seriously, triple digit ping, and still am able to clear ever CE without getting hit pretty reliably, some are dicier than others, but I can still do it, so I can't imagine latency is the issue here.

This thread has never been about CEs somehow being shitty with lag. This has never been about using lag as an excuse for failure.
This thread is specifically about the CE "On the Hunt" with the rotating AoE telegraphs, which do have serious issues of delays and inconsistencies between what you see and what the server sees. It's not that different from player positioning in relation to each other (if you play pvp and see someone behind you actually get the potion because the position update on the side of the player is absolutely catastrophic, you'll know what I mean).
If SE cannot have something workable when it comes to real time positioning feedback, then just don't use mechanics that do heavily rely on it.

For reference I play with sub 20-30 latency with no real issue anywhere, and all the people that have complained about this all have wildly different latencies. This is not about latency, although I don't doubt that the higher it is, the more impactful it will be for you, but the root of the problem lies elsewhere.

Are you basing it off the visual of when it stops or the audio countdown?
I always assumed it's cast time was in line with the 3rd count. So if you're still in the line when the 3rd count goes off. Even if it's not fully stopped, you still get hit.
Without a cast bar, it's always kind of a guess as to when it actually goes off.
