A simple fix for Cosmic Exploration gatherer content

Just fill GP and give "cosmic cordials" when accepting a mission. Will instantly fix the cosmic exploration gatherer experience.

It's easy and fair considering that crafters also get all prerequisites when accepting a mission.

Do it, Square Enix! :)

EDIT: And to fix people from cheating the system (free GP refill) just empty GP when leaving the area or use an own GP bar for the area. And dw, I know SE will realistically never do this.

I've seen people mention areas like in Eureka where you can stand and receive a buff and a cute idea I had in relation to that would be loporrit lemonade stands or something
though knowing them we'd just drink carrots

I do think that refilling GP after a mission is a must
The time limit is also a tad short, so it could probably be extended a few minutes and I think that'd be okay
Maybe up to 8 total but that might be more than enough

As much as it would probably be easier to just make GP refill automatically after a mission the way crafters do, I really want to see this happen. I can just hear shout chat now “anyone seen the buff bunny?”

Carrot juice stands that gave a buff to GP regen would be perfect. That's really the only thing wrong with the gathering side. I enjoyed them otherwise, it was just the hurry up and wait part that really needs addressing.

WHY? WHYYYYY? Maybe they should also give you fully pentamelded gear when you start a mission? Better yet they should give you all rewards including 500k mount after completing just one mission... The game's already INSANELY easy, it's so easy that we don't even play the game anymore, we just consume it's content(and tbh it applies to most modern games). I HAD to remind myself how good MSQ was by rewatching cutscenes BECAUSE I forgor how good it was. And it was good, it was a masterpiece, one of the best stories I've expierenced. BUT it's barely memorable because of how easy game is, because you always win, no one dies(side characters that I don't care about don't count) or dies and gets revived later, everything goes perfect all the time. I just can't care if I know I'm going to win no matter what I do... One time I decided to try do EVERYTHING wrong during the solo duty. The screen flashed red, NPCs begged me to protect them, but I just stood afk the whole time and ate every aoe. And guess what? Yeah... Yeah... And it was on hardest difficulty... You can't be all powerful and win all the time, it's boring. Cosmic needs to be even harder. GP refill??? Brotheeeeeerrrrr what are you talking about?

Using your GP in one Stellar Mission and not being able to continue without waiting for it to refill can be annoying, yes, even with Cordials there to help bridge the gap. It has nothing to do about making it any easier but allowing players to get back into the action quicker.

My sister in Hydaelyn, we are just ask to reduce downtime, I have 930 GP with 7.1 recommended pentamelds(I know they changed over time, but this has been working for me and I don't care enough to remeld), it takes me 117 server ticks, or 351 seconds, which is to say just shy of 6 minutes, to recover all my GP from 0 to full, and that's *if* I sit around doing nothing, longer if change classes to a crafter while I wait since the level 70, 80 and 83 GP regen traits don't take effect if you aren't currently a gatherer, not a single part of what I am describing is actually gameplay, nor does it involve any difficulty.

By the way can we talk about the GP regen traits not taking effect while you aren't a gatherer? it's normally not a big deal, but it really rears its ugly head in Cosmic, probably some funky piece of spaghetti code that isn't easy enough to fix to be worth the time commitment, but still.

What do you mean no being able to continue without waiting for it to refill? Why am I able to do it? Huh? It's not a game design issue, it's a skill issue... And maybe if you can't do it, you should wait for better gear in 7.3 or craft while your GP is recovering, instead of trying to ruin the game... And tbh even the silver star rewards are good, and please don't tell me you can't even get a silver star...

A ranks are 100% designed around a full GP bar and a cordial off CD.

Doing another mission while you have near no GP isn’t worth it because you won’t get silver unless it’s a B/C/D which on the gatherers are barely worth doing with a few notable exceptions.

They 100% should offer a faster CD way of restoring GP only within cosmic when you aren’t on a mission

I don't see why you're getting so upset about a simple feature that would allow players, including yourself, to be able to get back into doing the missions quicker. Having enhanced GP regeneration does not inherently make Stellar Missions too easy.

I am not even advocating for the bar to be completely refilled.
I at first suggested a cute way to receive a buff that would increase how quickly you got it back.

All it does is reduce the wait time between missions. It is inherently a design issue to have players wait as long as they have to just to be able to do one mission and then have to wait again. Yes, I am aware you can do crafting while you wait, but that changes nothing of what I've said.

The only skill issue here is your lack of interpersonal skills.

Yeah its needed, crafters can stack potions and food with no end and macro the hell outta the stuff, while gathers either "waste" time with inefficient work or waiting... And ill be honest, the CD on the GP is too long anyways... reduce the time on potions and raise the regen...

You are literally trying to ruin the game that is already too easy by asking to make it even easier. Here's the video of me doing 4 lvl 100 missions in a row without waiting. The last one is the best one, A-2 mission, started with 170 GP, got a gold star and 270 contribution points. The only bad thing about comsic is the reward drop rates(good rewards drop too much) and that I need to reroll missions as you can see in the video. But yeah if you've got to something more to say other than attacking my personality then I'm willing to hear.

Peak gameplay to cancel missions to reroll so you get the ones with low GP cost (bonus items and get x in less than y).

As you have shown your equipment in the beginning, let me ensure you that I have the current pentameld on all crafters and gatherers (including tools) and enough materia to pentameld my new 7.3 equipment day one. Just so that this is clear.

Spamming the same 2 missions over and over again can require cancelling another missions for up to 10 times. If they want people to play the variety of missions, they should fix the GP depletion. As it stands, even with the missions you highlighted, you wont be nearly as fast as crafters in getting points.

And before somebody questions my commitment into cosmic: I had my relics 11/11 done on day 3/4.

So I really did try out the content extensively before forming my critique and offering a simple fix to the situation. I am willing to finish the grind even with the situation at hand but I don't feel like it's necessary to make people spamming the same 2 missions by rerolling them over and over again.

And I do respect your opinion but you misrepresented my suggestion as "give out pentameld for free" etc.

I may have another suggestion to fix this: Lower cordial CD in cosmic. Then you still have to spend the resource but you can refill GP even if you are doing the collectable missions for example.

The idea I really liked was the fairy idea from Eureka :> This would add some community component to cosmic by sharing the current locations.

The reason I reroll missions is because I don't wanna run around the map all the time. And I didn't know these were the easy missions or something(although the last one gave me 270 points which isn't a low), so if you look up my previous message I did some A-3 missions. Are these easy too? Well okay tell me what missions should I do and I'll do them.

You are telling me you can do multiple A-3 missions (involving collectables) back to back without waiting for GP to refill especially considering the ones with aetherial reduction RNG (2 mins and 50 secs for gold, get 35 and reduction is either giving 2 per 1000 collectable or 4 with bonus)? (EDIT: Have to check if it was 2/4 but currently concentrating on crafters)

You had a lot of these "integrity is not reduced" events. Much more than I usually have with the same base 23% chance.
I can only do more A-3 tests when I reached 150k with all crafters in preparation for the next zones. I will report back.

Well I dunno we play the same game with the same RNG. And look, even if my luck was worse I would still get a silver star easily, which is only 100 points less. But then if I had my relic equipped, I would get even more integrity bonuses.

Tried 3 times now, two times bronze when not using GP and once gold with 1 second left for gold rating. And I want to correct the values above. Its 2-4 or 4-8 (with bonus)

EDIT: Tried with the relic, will now test pentameld tool

Still I feel this isn't worth the effort. In 2 minutes I can easily do 1250 points as a crafter. Its nearly 3 minutes as a gatherer on A-3 and for gold you get 505 points. If I use my GP I can do it quicker and at least be nearly as efficient as a crafter which is likely the reason people feel like that about GP in cosmic.

Let's assume for gatherers 80% gold, 10% silver, 10% bronze and just assume 3 minutes per mission

So that's 20 gatherer missions per hour
16 * 505
2 * 404
2 * 101

= 9090 points

Crafter is 100% silver with macros and even if we assume 2 minutes 24 seconds for a mission that's 25 crafter missions per hour
25 * 1250

= 31250 points

If you use GP you can make points faster and I think this discrepancy is the source of that feel of "We dont have enough GP". At least if we are talking about A-1, A-2 and A-3.
I guess its made that way because there are more crafter jobs. It still feels bad to get less and "contribute less".

They need to adjust the points then. I think I'm okay with GP recovery but only if they make the missions harder. Or they can just enable revisit in cosmic.
