Auto Demolition on EU and NA

What are we waiting for exactly to turn auto demolition back on ? Christmas ? The new world disaster ? The next expansion ? It's been god knows how many months

I'd like to be able to bid on a house without 300 people bidding on it but thank you for your opinion, people playing the game deserve to at the very least be able to bid on a minimum amount of houses available (or add new wards)

It's good for you that you are on Raiden so you arent affected, but some people are on non new worlds.

To be fair once tardis houses come in im hoping they remove auto demolition.

If anything they should remove the demolitiontimer completely or at least up the timer to 3 Months for L, 4,5 Months for M and 6 Months for S.
There are plenty of servers with lots of free plots, some are even in M and L-Size. If you really want one you can transfer at any time: Depending on the Server the tranfer can even be free. A transfer to a world on your DC doesnt stop you from playing with your friends. World-hopping and the Crossworld Partyfinder exists for a reason.

It's very likely that you are playing on a congested world if you struggle to get your hands on a house. The transfer from a congested to a preferred or new world is always free.
If thats not the case you should probably lower your expectations. You cant expect to get your dreamplot on a world that exists since 2013.

Hello! Just here to agree, Housing Demolition NEEDS to be turned back on. ASAP!!
Again, this is lose / lose situation.
People waiting on a house can't get one = They unsub
People who have a house see no reason to log in = They unsub

This is not good, and demolition needs to be turned back on immediately. The only people against this are just a small loud defensive few who have houses that frankly, they don't even use, and don't need, since they're not even logging in anyway. I say this as someone with a Medium house that I go into daily. Repossess those abandoned houses, and let new people have them for a change! Tyty!

Yes it needs to be back on.
As long as it remain a finite resource then, those who do not make use of it really have no reason to horde it.
Until SE fix this issue either adding instant housing for those who do not care for neighbours or change apartments to what a house would be

What do you get out of housing that you need so badly? I legitimately want to understand.

You cant get any plot at all on NA right now aside from Dynamis which is not an option for a big majority of people, you cant get any plot size at all because plots on Balmung or Mateus for example have over 100 to 200 (or more) bids on them for a SMALL, this isnt about picky, this is about no houses being available, same goes for a lot of other crystal worlds and aether/primal

No offense but people from EU coming in this thread telling people "yeah there's houses you guys are just difficult", please do your research, EU has open plots all over in both personal and FC new worlds or old, NA is not the same, there are 0 plots open on certain worlds and 1-2 on some, EU is not NA.

The person I am quoting for example has 55 plots open on their server as of right now (45 with 0 bids) so obviously they're not going to see any issue with it, the situation is different on NA.

Edit: The Server im on has 28 free plots with 26 being in Ishgard and only 1 in Limsa and LB. All small. Meanwhile your server has at least 100 if not more free plots. I didnt bother counting since i cant enter Ishgard and Kugane on a lvl 50 character anyway.
Lich is one of the least if not the least popular World on my DC. The situtation on worlds like Odin,Shiva or Phoenix is much worse.

I think the demolition is still on due to there still being a war being fought in Ukraine.

I mentioned different servers, this is an alt and the character is on Dynamis which is a new DC and world and which is pretty much dead and non popular due to SE's failure on DT launch (and with the DC in general)

idk man .. limsa didnt seem that dead the moment I went over from aether to dynamis to check the plots considering its like 6 in the morning for you guys. Plots exist in your region. The problem is the mindset of the playerbase wanting to be on the biggest dc on the most popular world and not the demolitiontimer. The transfer to dynamis from all aether worlds and most primal worlds are free of charge atm. Noone stops you if you really want a house.

Instead of reactivating auto-demolition, they should finally make housing instanced. It's long, long, loooong overdue.
This would be a win-win for both those who don't have a house yet but would like to have one, and the people who are being held hostage by the timer.
But of course, this has been requested time and time again for years, and nothing has happened yet. Just like hats for Viera/Hrothgar, it might never happen. Sooo..yeah...

Personally, I don't really care about the timer. I'm quite content with my apartment for now. /shrug

Mao appreciates kind words from Jessa. Mao can no longer play game though. Mao is old and has Parkinson's Disease. DDR-style boss fights whats used in trials, dungeons and raids, has gotten too fast for Mao to be able to handle. Mao can no longer do thems. Also, boss fights becomings pretty borings for Mao. Is very 2-dimensional and is even shaping job design in ways whats Mao nots like. Mao also no longer willing to put up with lack of contents with regards to world contents. Mao finding that borings too. Mao has moved on to WoW and finds WoW to be much more doable and funs for Mao. Mao hopings that peoples whats stay with FFXIV will still has much funs playing it. Agreed. Ward housing pretty much requires auto-demo, because otherwise new plots would never open up outside of new districts being added! Which is why it came about in the first place: players demanded it.

Instanced could be added in addition to the wards, guaranteeing everyone a housing plot that would never need to be taken away, while allowing those who still prefer the ward system to continue with the lottery game. Other MMOs that are older than XIV have had instanced housing, allowing the collection of multiple properties with greater variety, without even requiring a subscription, to nip that argument in the bud.

And as we got a taste of with Island Sanctuary, instanced offers features that aren’t possible in the wards, like a much higher outdoor item placement limit, the furniture glamour system, being able to change the ground/landscape elements independently of the buildings, and open air buildings. If the cabin had been an actual housing plot instead of the mammet base of operations, it could have been a real alternative to ward housing. It would be nice if they learned from that and gave some kind of instanced housing out of Cosmic Exploration…

What they need to do is give us instanced housing.
