Re-merge Chaos and Light please

Chaos PF is dead as hell right now. Re-merge them into one data centre or allow cross data centre PF and DF within the same region.

Absolute travesty the state of Chaos in general right now.

Better yet, keep them as it is but start having savage raiding locked to one DC each time.

Locking players on to their own data centre for the first patch of a Savage and Ultimate release?

or

Making it so only 1 specific DC can access Savage like Crystalline Conflict ranked?


Both bad ideas but idea 2 is even worse.

REGION WIDE PARTY FINDER


All they need to do is make 1 unified PF for every region.

It would probably require some tech to make it so Chaos players can join Light PF's from their home DC and vice versa.

That way, Chaos players can still raid with Light players without losing access to things like Retainers, Free Companies etc and vice versa.

Nor do they have to travel every single time they have a raid.



They should just unify each regions PF into 1 big PF for that region.


No more "Light PF" "Aether PF" etc... we make it "EU PF" "NA PF" "JP PF" "OCE PF"

People leaving one DC for another to do high-end content also means they're more likely to do their daily roulettes and other content there as well. So yes, something really should be done about this. Chaos is definitely suffering right now.

Which is exactly why I feel it's time to implement Region Wide PF and Duty Finder.

We don't need to go locking specific activities to specific DC's.


If they unified the PF and Duty finder to the point where a Chaos player could stay on their server and still join in a group hosted by a Light player, that would be really beneficial for PF'ers and Statics.

Raiders won't need to DC hop every time it's raid night.

Plus they wouldn't lose access to Free Company buffs and retainers.

A unified PF would be good, specifically for the savage/ high end stuff at the very least.
Only really noticed I was having to move to light to PF anything around abyssos tier and onward.

A lot of Chaos raiders also move to Light because it actually has an ultimate scene.

Chaos never really had an ultimate scene and LPDU made the Light Ultimate scene insanely popular.

Yeah, I have seen some people try to recreate lpdu in Chaos, but so far all attempts seem to have not kicked off much since it was already so common to go to Light due to the ultimate scene it has.

I know 20 people from Chaos which would instant buy a server transfer if they would do against traveling, so do you really think binding savage to a dc would help`? no its the opposite many people would actually rather transfer

The second option. Unless they can pull out a Regional Cross-DC party finder

Better yet, a Regional Cross-DC duty finder queues

Even much more better, a Regional Cross-DC travel in-game by the aetheryte, and not the main menu.

Combine all of the above (Except the first solution ever) and you'll solve the issue completely.

Cross DC DF and PF is what will fix this problem. However, they said it'd take them 3 years to implement it...

This is a part of the reason I basically quit. I'm from Chaos - I don't want to disable half the game to play on a server with people on it.

I'm sure the revenue from paid world transfers is going well though :)

please half the amount of available housing plots, there are too many

Having to change data center when you want to do PVE is really annoying.
PF si already annoying to deal with, but having to change datacenter added to that just make it even more boring.

I really hope we get regional PF and queuing in the game. The ping pong for Raiding and PvP currently is kinda pain.

The Shadow DC was only up during the launch of 7.0 and it was mostly used by statics or groups with players from Chaos and Light to be able to meet and play together.

It was kind of annoying yesterday when I was going for my weekly unreal clears and I set up a PF on chaos and after 30 minutes it was still only one other person in it. I had to go eat so I left, ate and then came back to the game and jumped over to Light. There were PAGES of PF to go through to find a party to do unreal with. SO many people putting up ex-clears/farm, ultimate and so on. I just imagined if half of those people setting up farm there wouldve just stayed on chaos and done it there then not only would nobody have to jump over but also nobody would have to go through so many pages to try and find a party for yourself. I set up an unrealx2 clear party and in 15-20 minutes I had a fullt party, went in and did the reclears and jumped back to Chaos.
I will do my part in setting up PFs on chaos but....it is disheartening when nobody joins and then you jump to light and there are so many chaos people there.....

Went to light for some raiding, decided to join a Delubrum Reginae group after. Someone in the party talked about having to travel to Light from Chaos for a lot of activities. Checked the 7 people that had joined, we were all Chaos players visiting Light.

Just give us cross DC parties already or merge the DCs.

Sunday Chaos might have 4-5 High End duties in PF, while Light has 100+.

To be honest, a lot of the problem are players themselfs. Abyssoss, first tier during which DC travel was possible was still fine to PF on Chaos, but for some reason, even the most easiest content people do on Light nowadays. And its bothering me all my socials are dissabled when I'm on light. Just make region wide PF already.

Or dissable DC travel! Make Chaos PF great again! /j :>

There is a simple solution, but will they do it?
Simply ensure that everything related to the duty system is unified
— meaning instanced servers and raid tools should be cross-datacenter.

They managed to create an entire system like that, so they are perfectly capable of making a server that handles cross-datacenter instances.
This would make roulettes faster to queue and drastically improve the party finder.
In the past, there was only one single datacenter, but servers weren’t linked and world travel didn’t exist
— yet instances were shared across all worlds,they could very well bring that back."

It would be good for the low end stuff too.

More groups for things like Unreal, Mount farming etc.

This, Chaos used to be full of party for various duties. We used to see savage, ex, unreal, deep dungeon, hunt, fate train…etc

Now barely anything, to join other DC meaning I lose access to many basic functions.

Either SE introduces cross dc DF and PF or merge the two DC back. We still have many low population server and really can’t see the reason to keep the split now

AFAIK all DCs in all regions are located at the same location. There is no such thing as NA-East / NA-West.

EDIT: Just to be clear:
EU (Light & Chaos) are hosted in Frankfurt, Germany
NA (Aether, Crystal, Dynamis & Primal) are hosted in Sacramento, CA, United States
JP (Elemental, Gaia, Mana & Meteor) are hosted in Tokyo, Japan
OC (Materia) is hosted in Sydney, Australia

They were probably planning one during the huge player boom at the start of Endwalker, and then quickly scrapped that idea when they saw the drop off and their new additions, Dynamis and Materia, struggle to get enough players to do anything.

Chaos used to be THE raiding DC for most of Shadowbringers. Light still had a raiding scene but it wasn't exactly packed and Chaos was seemingly more successful.
And then at some point during Endwalker that completely flipped.

They did plan to have a 8:8:8 configuration for DC's but I guess they needed the money to fund their flops instead.

And tbh, we don't really need a 3rd DC right now.

That was a test thing and died as they saw that not enough players are there for that to happen. That also includes Chaos which is dying and desolated.

I think devs could do something to fix this but then DC / server transfers may not sell well for them.

I waited 6 hours to do the Ivalice questline. For each raid....
I SUPPORT THIS.

I think the only thing holding them back from server merging is housing. That's a logistical nightmare that didn't exist when the servers were merged between 1.0 and ARR.

Probably this. It would also be a bandaid fix, what will they do when/if EU grows and needs new worlds? Much smarter to make a cross-DC PF that they can also use in NA, where it is very much needed, and for everyone else to be more comfortable in their home worlds.

Just travelled and noticed
9 whole searches on Chaos DC.
Jumped to Light to visit a friend.
opened PF and boom 74 searches.

It used to be just raiding.... now they just stay for all kinds of content

From those 9, 7 are ERP venues.

If anything, Chaos and Light should be 1 DC.

Bring all the chaos servers over to the Light DC.

I am on the East Coast of NA and I have characters on Light, Chaos, Materia and Japan in addition to NA. Game plays fine.

It used to be one DC but then they split it

Was checking the PF on chaos and there were only 23 groups, then i went to light and there were over a 125 groups, the difference in numbers is saddening.

You are lucky. When I was back on Sagittarius, I checked pf usually and it would be 10 or lower. From those 23 groups you mention, 17 of them would be spammers and erp venues. I decided it's time to move on and leave chaos behind. It's not worth it to even have house there when its dead.

DF on Chaos is getting slower and slower to pop, even on reset time now. PvP stuff more than ever. It's time to merge the two DC, SE.

I'm not entirely sure why it was split in the first case? However, it sure would be nice to not be on a Dead DC. Waiting for a PF to fill for 50 minutes of literally 1 unsync run was insane.
